Allie rose quietly early in the morning, carefully picking up her beloved roller skates. These skates were the only valuable items she had brought from the slums, carrying her dreams and hopes. She inspected them thoroughly, only putting them on after ensuring everything was normal.
On the training ground, Coach Jackson was leading the team members in warm-up exercises. "Today's training will be extremely tough," he announced in a cold tone, "We'll be simulating extreme conditions in competitions. You must give it your all."
Allie took a deep breath, knowing this was an opportunity to prove herself and she had to give it her best.
As training began, Allie demonstrated amazing speed. Other team members were amazed, and even Jackson nodded in approval. However, just as Allie was about to perform a difficult move, she suddenly felt something wrong with her skates. Before she could react, the skates suddenly lost control, and Allie fell heavily to the ground. Intense pain immediately spread throughout her body, and she couldn't help but let out a painful groan.
"Allie!" Fiona exclaimed, immediately running to her side.
Allie sat up, fighting the pain, and looked down at her skates. Her heart sank - the key components of the shoes were severely damaged and could no longer be used. Moreover, it was clear that these parts had been deliberately sabotaged, as she had checked them just this morning.
"No..." Allie murmured, her eyes filled with disbelief and pain.
Allie felt a strong wave of emotion, her hands beginning to tremble slightly, a spark of anger flashing in her eyes. The air around seemed to become heavy, and the equipment on the training ground began to vibrate slightly.
At this moment, Fiona noticed the abnormality and immediately grabbed Allie's hand, saying firmly, "Allie, calm down! I can help you fix it, trust me."
Allie suddenly looked up at Fiona, the anger in her eyes gradually subsiding. "Really?" Her voice held a hint of hope.
Fiona nodded, smiling, "Of course, don't forget I'm a genius mechanic. Give me an afternoon, and I guarantee I can restore them to their original state."
Hearing this, Allie took a deep breath, trying to calm her emotions. She looked at Fiona gratefully and said softly, "Thank you, Fiona."
Coach Jackson walked over and said seriously, "Allie, your training ends here for today. Go to the infirmary to check if you're injured."
Allie nodded, leaving the training ground with Fiona's support.
The entire afternoon, Fiona was engrossed in repairing Allie's roller skates. Allie sat nearby, watching Fiona skillfully operate various tools, her heart full of gratitude and admiration.
"Done!" By evening, Fiona had finally completed the repairs, looking satisfactorily at the renewed skates.
Allie carefully took the shoes, inspecting them thoroughly. "This is amazing, Fiona! They're just like new." She said excitedly, tears of joy glistening in her eyes.
"Haha, I'm not one of those upper-class people with undeserved fame," Fiona laughed, "All my titles are earned through real ability!"
Allie hugged Fiona, "Yes, Fiona, you're different from them! Thank you!"
"I must find out who tampered with them! This is tantamount to attempted murder, you know, Allie!"
Allie's heart skipped a beat. Indeed, if something went wrong with the shoes during a high-speed sprint, the consequences could be fatal!
"Who could it be?" Fiona mused to herself, "I need to investigate this thoroughly!"
That evening, Allie was eager to try out the repaired roller skates. She went to the training ground for a brief but fulfilling training session. The skates performed even better than before, which excited Allie immensely.
After training, Allie contentedly went to the locker room to shower. She carefully placed her skates in her locker and locked them before going to shower. However, when she came out after her shower, the sight before her made her freeze on the spot.
Her beloved roller skates had been destroyed, parts scattered all over the floor, beyond repair. She looked around, but at this time of night, there was hardly anyone around. It was too cruel... who could have done this?
Allie felt a strong wave of dizziness, her mind going blank. She felt an unprecedented surge of anger and despair welling up inside her.
"No... No!" Allie cried out in anguish, her voice carrying a strange vibration.
Suddenly, the entire room began to shake slightly. The window glass emitted a faint hum, and objects on the table started to slide. Allie crouched in the center of the room, everything around her seeming to become unstable under the influence of her emotions.
Allie saw cracks beginning to appear on the walls, the vibration of the windows intensifying as if they were about to shatter. She didn't know what to do; everything before her eyes was about to be destroyed!
Allie felt extremely uncomfortable, holding her head with both hands, unable to suppress it all...
Just then, a familiar voice came from the doorway: "Allie, calm down."
Allie looked up to see Ryan standing at the door, looking at her with slight concern.
Ryan quickly walked into the room, coming to Allie's side. He grasped Allie's shoulders, letting her sit on the nearby sofa. Ryan held Allie in his arms; at this moment, Allie was trembling slightly, covered in sweat. Ryan gently patted her back, saying softly, "Allie, listen to me. You're experiencing the awakening of a special ability. This ability is closely related to your emotions. You must learn to control it, or it could be dangerous."
Hearing Ryan's deep, magnetic voice and feeling his unique scent seemed to alleviate the discomfort in her body. "What... what's happening to me? Why do I feel so awful?" Allie asked.
Ryan continued in a low voice, "Allie, calm down, don't be afraid. Try to feel the sensation of this power in your body. Slowly accept it, and it will become easier. Try it."
Under Ryan's guidance, Allie gradually calmed down. She closed her eyes and began to sense the faint but definitely present energy within her body. As her breathing steadied, the shaking in the room slowly stopped.
"Well done, Allie," Ryan encouraged, his voice as gentle as if he were lulling a child to sleep.
Allie felt less uncomfortable and opened her eyes, only to realize she was in Ryan's arms. She immediately blushed and pulled away.
"Mr. Waters, what exactly is this?" she asked.
"Call me Ryan, Allie," Ryan sat up straight, his tone returning to its usual coolness. "Are you feeling better now?"
"I'm much better," Allie looked at Ryan. "Why are you here today? What's wrong with my body? I don't want to hurt anyone."
Ryan was silent for a moment, then said, "It's a complicated story, Allie. You need to rest today. I'll explain in detail another time. You'll need special training to help you master this ability."
Allie nodded, "Mr. Wat... I mean, Ryan, are you very familiar with these strange abilities?"
Ryan looked at her, "No, not particularly. It's a mysterious ability that's almost extinct. As far as I know, there are very few people who understand it now."
Allie looked at the time; it was almost midnight. Had she been here for so long?
"I should go back, it's late, and I have to get up early tomorrow," Allie said, hurriedly standing up, but her legs gave way, and she sat back down.
Ryan found her panicked state amusing. "Are you that afraid of me?" he asked.
"Come on, I'll take you back," he said, helping Allie stand. "Can you walk?" He extended his hand to Allie.
"I'll try," Allie said, grabbing Ryan's arm. She could barely walk and felt weaker than she ever had before.
"This is too slow. I'll carry you," Ryan said, growing impatient.
Ryan bent down to pick Allie up.
"No, no need, I can manage," Allie protested.
Suddenly, a voice called, "Allie, are you in there? Allie— Are you there?"
Fiona burst through the door, clearly very worried.
Then, she froze, "Ah, haha, sorry to interrupt, sorry, carry on, carry on..." She backed out of the door, looking at the two of them, the meaning in her eyes clear to everyone.
Allie and Ryan were left in an awkward position, facing each other uncomfortably.
In the end, Ryan carried Allie back to the dormitory. Fortunately, it was late, and there was no one on the way. When Fiona opened the door, her smile was sickeningly sweet, and Allie felt like banging her head against the wall.
After Ryan left, Fiona grabbed a bag of chips, sat down in front of Allie, tilted her chin up, looked at Allie, and said, "Spill it, or you're not getting any sleep."
Allie held her head in her hands. This girl was so nosy.
Suddenly, Allie remembered something more important, "Fiona, there's bad news. My roller skates were tampered with again, and this time they're completely ruined. I definitely can't participate in tomorrow's training."
"What?" Fiona's eyes widened, rolling in anger. "Damn it, Catherine, if I find out it was you, you'll see how I deal with you!"
Fiona slammed her fist on the chips, causing the bag to burst and scatter chips all over the table.
"Fiona, you think it's Catherine? Have you discovered something?" Allie asked.
"No, I don't have concrete evidence yet. She wouldn't do this kind of thing herself; she always gets others to do it for her."
"Fiona, I know you're trying to help me, but I don't want you to put yourself in danger because of this," Allie said, worried that Fiona might do something rash.
"Don't worry, Allie. It's not just for you. That despicable woman, I've disliked her for a long time."
