The Songster [II]

This was something he really hadn't expected. He thought that Sang Young asked him to come today because of his movie. Although he was a variety show host, he was able to get in touch with him.

"Not really." Atlas smiled and waved his hand. "It's just some research which gives me some new ideas about your thing."

"What changes are we talking about?" The director was a little skeptical. Variety shows, movies and music - the three have nothing to do with each other.

"What was the viewership for other variety shows's previous seasons?"

The director thought for a moment and quickly gave an answer. "3.5% on average, 5.2% at most."

After saying this, he shrugged. This was indeed a very good result.

Atlas nodded. "This result is not bad, but if you follow my method, it can make this show's ratings average over 5%."

Upon hearing this, the director immediately frowned. Was this a joke? Although he believed in Atlas's professional ability in filming, variety shows was very different from shooting movies.

Average viewership of over 5 percent, for a new variety show? This data was simply too difficult to achieve. Even the top variety show directors and producers in the country wouldn't dare to say such words.

Could Sang Young be talking nonsense? If this were the words of somebody else, he would have already started cursing.

Average viewership exceeded 5%? Yea, dream on! He didn't have a very good temper to begin with, but the person in front of him was Sang Young. So, he still restrained himself a little.

Atlas knew from the director's expression that he definitely didn't believe it. With a chuckle, he continued. "Let's make a wager then, if I can make it 5%, you'll give me the privilege of recruiting people from the contestants to join my company after the variety show is over. It's just a privilege, not a compulsion. And at the same time, I will take 5% from the show's profits."

When the director heard Atlas's first request, he knew that Atlas definitely knew something about variety shows. It was definitely not like he just suddenly had a creative idea.

Generally speaking, there were big companies behind variety shows. The auditioning singers were basically divided up among the various companies. Atlas must know the rules before he made such a request.

However, making such a request was equivalent to competing with the big companies behind them for the show talents. This was not something he could decide on, he needed to seek the company's opinion. As for the second request, to take 5% of the profits from the variety show, he had even less say.

If it was true as Sang Young told him, that the average viewership would exceed 5% average viewership, then this 5% was worth it.

The main income of variety shows came from sponsorship and advertising revenue during this time period. An average viewership breaking the 5 percent barrier was totally different from that of 3.5.

If this could really be achieved, income could be increased by at least 30%.

Since Atlas didn't know what kind of change it would be, he did not ask for a high price, only 5%. Mainly because this was just a small change, and not a complete plan. If he could get 5%, it would be considered a good profit.

So Atlas didn't rush him and just drank his tea quietly.

Looking at Atlas's calm and composed look, the director said. "I have to go back and discuss this with the management. As you already know, I can't make the decision on these two matters."

Of course Atlas knew that he didn't have this right. In fact, he was asked to come here today just to serve as a messenger. "Okay, then I'll wait for your response..."

The executive director of the program team had always been a very cautious person. After all, he had been in the circle for so many years, and it was impossible for him not to have some ability to judge people. But he really couldn't figure out Atlas. He had indeed become famous in the director circle.

But now, he suddenly entered the variety music show industry and made such a big request. Was there something to it? But the director concluded that there was no need for Atlas to ruin his own future. Moreover, he looked so confident, and didn't seem like he was joking.

So he went back and discussed it with the management.

"Boss, I think we can give it a try."

The director in front of him was silent for a few seconds and did not speak. "Are you sure about him?"

"I think he's pretty confident. I don't see the good it would do him otherwise."

The manager nodded and thought so too. Based on Atlas's current status in the entertainment industry, there was really no need to play tricks on them.

"Then let's him try." After speaking, the director immediately asked for Atlas to be invited.

"In fact, this design is very simple. It requires all the instructors to turn their backs to the stage when the singers are auditioning. If any instructor wants to choose any singer, he'll only need to turn around. If he doesn't want to choose this student, he won't need to turn around." After saying that, Atlas took a sip of tea.

"That's it?" The director asked.

Atlas nodded: "Yes, that's it."

Other high members present looked at each other.

"Will this work?"

"What's the essence of this?"

"I thought it was some kind of change in the competition system."

"Isn't this a bit too much?"

Atlas didn't care about their doubts. "Won't you just try and see if it works? How much would it cost to add four chairs that can turn around? If it all works out, won't your production team make money?"

The director thought for a while and felt that what Atlas said made sense. It wouldn't cost much to add four customized chairs. If if didn't work out, they could easilyforget it.

Anyway, it's already a gain for this show to be able to connect with a caliber of person like Sang Young.

If it was really as he said, and the average viewership could reach over 5 percent, then that was a huge profit.

"Okay, just do as Mr. Sang said."

Since the order had been given by the person on the stage, no one else dared to make any comments.

When Atlas came out of the director's office, he happened to run into Sin Yoon
