EPS 38 Lord Vassal's Family Plan

A dark night fell over Spring Colony, the ruins of buildings and the shattered ground bearing witness to the devastating battle between warriors and beasts such as the Horned Serpent and Dragon Horned Serpent. The remnants of the brutal battle were scattered all over, the lifeless corpses of giant creatures and warriors filling the desolate and bleak terrain. The scent of death permeated the air, and a terrible silence filled the night that had previously been filled with roars and screams.

However, in the morning from a distance, the rumble of engines began to be heard. Like a shadow in the fog, a large convoy of Cargo Tanks slowly approached, travelling through a terrain littered with debris and corpses. The Cargo Tanks were no ordinary vehicles-they were symbols of the Glory Kingdom, the ruling empire, which always came not as saviours, but as looters intent on profiting from death.

On top of the frontmost vehicle, Lord Vqssar, the leader of the core family of Glory Kingdom, looked forward with a cold gaze. His face was full of arrogance and without a trace of pity. Beside him, his daughter Lira sat quietly, her gaze full of ambition and contempt for everything before her.

Lira with a wicked laugh said, 'Look, father, the people of Srping Colony and the disgusting creatures are all dead,' her voice sounded as if this death was just an amusement to her. 'There's nothing left but the remains of Horned Serpent corpses and useless weaklings.'

Lord Vqssar smiled faintly, his eyes remaining fixed on the ruins ahead. 'That's right, my son. There is nothing left. Yet, from this destruction, we will take what is most valuable.' He glanced at the orb in Lira's hand-the Horned Serpent Heart Orb, a mystical object capable of summoning the remaining Dragon Horned Serpents.

Lira held the orb tightly, her eyes shining with ambition as she said. 'With this thing, we can lure them out and slaughter all the people who stand in our way without getting our hands dirty plus they give us very high benefits.'

Lord Vossar nodded. 'Horned Serpents from their flesh, scales, and bones will be ours. Horned Serpent meat is very expensive in the market-one piece can give you enough gold to build your own castle.'

'Not just the meat,' Lira added with a sly smile. 'Their bones and scales are also very valuable. Alchemists and weaponsmiths pay top dollar for these materials. We will reap huge profits from their deaths.'

The TankCargo stopped right in front of the entrance of Spring Colony, which was now just a shadow of its former self. With orders from Lira, the Glory Kingdom soldiers got off the vehicle and began to unload their heavy equipment. They carried weapons, fuel, and tools to transport the remains of the corpses on the battlefield. They came not to save what was left of the colony, but to clear it of any traces that could prove this tragedy.

'Make sure no evidence remains,' Lord Vossar ordered in an emotionless tone. 'Burn what needs to be burned, and transport everything of value. We don't want anyone to know what really happened here.'

The soldiers immediately obeyed the order. They began to collect the bodies of the Horned Serpents lying on the ground, piling them up in an area to be transported to the TankCargo. Meanwhile, the corpses of the humans who died on the battlefield began to be collected on one side, arranged in piles to be burned. Smoke began to rise into the sky, carrying the pungent smell of death and burning.

Among the crowd of soldiers, a squad leader approached Lord Vossar and reported, 'Your Majesty, we have found several intact Horned Serpent corpses and some very valuable supply items. We will process them immediately.'

'Good. Quickly collect the meat, scales, and take what can be sold. We must hurry,' Lord Vossar ordered as he looked at the corpses with a look of contempt. 'Those who die here are no longer useful. The important thing is what we can get from the corpses to speed up the process before anyone else sees.'

Lira descended from the TankCargo gracefully, walking through the ruins and scattered corpses. Occasionally, she kicked the lifeless bodies with her boots, showing a deep disgust for the fallen warriors. 'Their lives are cheap. They're just weak pawns who don't know when to give up.'

Lira approached one of the Dragon Horned Serpent carcasses. Her eyes lit up at the sight of the creature's scales and flesh. 'This meat will sell for a tremendous amount of money,' she said as she gently kicked the creature's body. 'Each piece could rival the price of gold. The market will be vying for it.'

Lord Vossar walked over and looked proudly at his daughter. 'And we'll be even more powerful. The people out there don't care where our wealth comes from. They just want the results. As long as we can give them what they want, we'll stay on top.'

Lira nodded in agreement. 'Father, we really are on the right path. Wealth and power are in our hands. Nothing can stop us, especially after this. The Horned Serpent and Dragon Horned Serpent may be terrifying creatures, but in the end, they are just a source of wealth for us.'

Glory Kingdom's soldiers continued their work quickly, dismembering the meat, removing the scales, and transporting all the saleable parts. The remaining human corpses were burned, ensuring that no trace was left of this battle. The fire raged fiercely, destroying any evidence, leaving Spring Colony as nothing but ashes in the wind.

As the sun was about to rise, the Cargo Tanks began to move again. They carried their booty-expensive Horned Serpent meat, scales, bones, and other valuables-like a group of merchants bringing back loot from the battlefield. Glory Kingdom would grow richer, and they would grow stronger.

However, behind the silence and destruction, questions remained. Would this destruction truly benefit Glory Kingdom, or would the price they paid in the future be greater than what they gained today?

As the convoy moved away, leaving behind the devastated Spring Colony, Lord Vossar looked back once more, confirming that there was nothing left but ash and smoke. 'We're done here,' he said calmly. 'Time to go back and enjoy the results.'

And with that, Spring Colony, once teeming with life, completely vanished, leaving only the shadow of death and deep greed behind it.

After they left, they did not realise that there was a man with a sharp gaze full of vengeance looking at the Glory Kingdom Family's atrocities and remembering all their faces. The man said 'I will not let you die so easily. ' The man left towards the direction of the Caraval TankCargo group heading for Glory Kingdom.
