Seeing that she was staring too much and might generate confusion, Nadine awkwardly left Ezekiel's presence and strode away from the commotion, which had finally died down. Rose's earlier actions still left the onlookers in shock, especially Ava, the self-proclaimed queen bee.
Nadine couldn't understand why Ava commanded so much respect. To her, it was sheer foolishness. "Must be because they lack taste," she thought with a smirk.
Luna noticed the disdainful look on Nadine's face and began laughing softly. "Oh, Nadine, don't be like that. Ava isn't all that bad."
"Don't tell me that," Nadine replied sharply. "I know she's a big deal or whatever, but bullying? That's so beneath her. What a fool."
Luna shrugged. She had spent her entire life in Paradise learning one thing: for the sake of peace and safety, it was best to steer clear of the elite—those who held power in their hands.
"Okay, why don't we head to biology class? The teacher's probably already waiting," Luna suggested, changing the subject.
The two girls began walking off when Jeremy hurried to catch up with them.
"What took you so long, Jimmy? Don't tell me you're still crushing on Rose," Luna teased, her tone dripping with amusement. To her, Jeremy—a pauper—harboring feelings for Rose was as absurd as talking to a tree trunk.
Nadine couldn't help but laugh at the thought. "I don't mean to sound rude, but you're not her type. For your mental health and peace, it's best to avoid her like the plague."
Jeremy, however, didn't seem shaken by their comments. Despite his modest background, his charm was undeniable, and he believed he could win over any girl he wanted. Rose was no exception.
Together, they walked into the spacious biology hall. The massive room was lined with enormous tables that occupied most of the floor. The ceiling was high, and the atmosphere felt grand, the kind of place where voices could echo endlessly. Nadine was certain her conversations here would carry far.

Meanwhile, in the restroom, Rose gently wiped Emily's tear-streaked face with a tissue.
"It's okay, girl. Don't let them get to you," she said reassuringly. Then, with a smile, she added, "By the way, what's your name?"
Emily sniffled and wiped her eyes. "My name is Emily Bennett. I'm in the science department—medical courses."
Rose straightened her shoulders, her presence commanding yet comforting. "Well, don't mind her, Emily. From now on, let's be friends. I think I like you—though not your style of dressing," she said with a teasing grin. "But don't worry, we can fix that."
The restroom door suddenly swung open, and Slyvia walked in, her sharp eyes scanning the room for any threats. Her gaze landed on Rose, confusion flickering across her face.
"What's going on here?" Slyvia demanded. "Why are you so interested in her? Are you up to something?"
Rose's lips curved into a sly smile as she examined Slyvia from head to toe. "Oh my, you're absolutely gorgeous. I love your hair and eyes—they're so magical and mysterious."
Slyvia blinked, momentarily thrown off by the compliment. Then she snapped back to reality. "Rose, are you even listening to what I'm saying?"
Rose raised her hands in mock surrender, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "Enough already. Your voice is hurting my ears. Jeez, I was just helping out. No need to be so judgmental, Saint Mary."
Slyvia's jaw tightened, and for a moment, it seemed like she was ready to start a fight. But Emily quickly stepped between them, pulling Slyvia back.
"Slyvia, I appreciate you sticking up for me, but don't raise your voice at Rose. She really helped me with Ava and Nina's brutal attitude. She's different—I can feel it. So please, don't make her feel bad."
Slyvia reluctantly glared at Rose, still wary. Despite her hatred for people like Rose—those rich kids who acted like the world revolved around them—she couldn't deny that Rose had stood up for Emily. But a nagging feeling in her gut warned her that this girl might bring trouble in the future.
"Fine," Slyvia muttered. "I appreciate you helping Emily. And sorry for lashing out. It's just... I thought you were planning to use her the same way Ava uses that fool Nina, the worthless goat trying to climb the social ladder."
Rose flipped her blond hair stylishly, her tone icy. "It's okay. And don't compare me to that lowlife Ava. I'm far better than her, and I don't associate with useless entities."
Emily watched Rose closely. Something about her behavior reminded her of Lucinda—her savage remarks, her confidence, and even her nagging attitude. It was uncanny.
"So, girls, what do you say about me being your friend?" Rose asked, her tone casual but her eyes challenging. "I think in this sad excuse of a school, it would be best to associate with the wise—and you both fit the category."
Slyvia hesitated, her instincts screaming that this wasn't a good idea. Rose's presence felt too similar to Lucinda's, and she didn't like it one bit. But before she could voice her concerns, Emily spoke up.
"Of course, yes! You're more than welcome," Emily said excitedly. "Goodness, I love this. It's giving powerful trio vibes."
Rose's face brightened. "Thanks, Emily. You're such a darling. I hope you don't mind, Slyvia," she added, her tone mocking as if daring Slyvia to object.
Slyvia sighed, deciding to let it go. Maybe this was for the best. "Welcome, Rose. Let's officially fill you in on the latest news at Paradise High."
Emily, eager to share, jumped in before Slyvia could say another word. "So, the richest guy in school—the one who holds all the power—is Ezekiel Sawyer. He's the prince charming of this school and every girl's dream. But," she leaned in conspiratorially, "I did some digging and found out he's secretly gay."
Rose gasped, then sighed dramatically. "A deliciously hot guy selling himself to other guys? What a bummer." Her thoughts drifted to Simon, the second-most attractive boy in school.
"What about the guy hovering around Ava?" Rose asked.
Slyvia immediately snapped to attention. "Wait, are you talking about Simon Donovan? Please, don't even think about it. He's Ava's property, and she'll kill you if you go anywhere near him."
Rose smirked. "Perfect," she thought. Simon would be her revenge. She would take Ava's man, her social life, and her cheerleading squad—leaving her as empty as the vessel she truly was.
Emily glanced at the clock and gasped. "Guys, we're screwed! It's Mr. Ares' class, and we're late!"
Slyvia facepalmed. "No, this isn't me. Come on, Rose, we have to go."
Rose frowned. "Who's Ares?"
Emily's eyes gleamed. "He's the most gorgeous man ever, with a body to die for and the most dazzling crystal eyes. And for your information, all the girls in school want to sleep with him—including Nina. So, back off."
Rose smirked maliciously. Ares wasn't her target. Her mind was set on Simon and Ava. They would both regret messing with Rose Anderson.
