As Aden opened the book, he stared at what looked like glyphs over all the pages. He sat there, confused, this was not English or any language he had seen. "Uhh…- I can't read this..-", I said while looking at Cephas. Cephas looked at me and sat next to me while looking at the strange pages. "Oh, you don't know Divlut?", Cephas said while looking at me with curiosity. "What is Divlut..?", I said a little nervously. "It's the language we used to use over 100 years ago, it is almost forgotten..", Cephas stated. "But I can read it for you if you'd like.", Cephas said while smiling lightly. "Sure, please do if you can..", I said while getting comfortable on the ground. As Cephas started reading, the history revealed the truth about humans' disappearance and more.
Long ago, humans and nature thrived together in harmony. The trees stood at massive heights and human agriculture was booming, everything was perfect. Over the centuries, humans and nature started becoming one, evolving into future generations of creatures. These creatures were a variety of different types, water, air, earth, stone, and flowers, which were all different shapes and sizes. With these magnificent creatures came a dark curse that haunted the land. A few of these creatures turned mad, the evolution that once gave them their unique beauty was harming them, and their eyes turned black and white, losing the beautiful colors that once radiated from their body. As their skin became darker and darker, white cracks started forming from their skin, almost breaking their body from the inside out. Their once sweet and generous behavior turned erratic and unpredictable, harming the innocent in the process. One day, a bright white light emerged from the caves, shining its light on the ones who were unfortunate to fall into corruption. While shining its light, the dark creatures ran towards the shadows, never to be seen again, along with the light fading away. Since then, the evolution never drove people to insanity again, bringing peace back to the land.
After Cephas read the book, I looked at everyone in the area, Daiki, Cephas, and Brier, thinking about how their lives were based on this book. Looking at Brier specifically, questioning if this evolution caused mental and physical damage to her. Daiki looked up at the sky and saw the light getting farther and farther away, Daiki motioned at Cephas. "He says it's getting dark, we can camp here for the night", Cephas said. "Alright then, I'll find some sticks and leaves", I said while closing the book and getting up. "Why need sticks and leaves for?", Brier said while slightly yawning. "To build a Campfire, Why?", I said while looking at Brier. "Fire??", Cephas says while looking at me slightly confused. "Have you guys never seen a fire before?", I said while looking at everyone slightly shake their heads. I then gathered all the materials needed and created a fire in the middle of the area. Daiki, Cephas, and Brier all looked quite amazed at this glowing light that sits in front of them. Brier tried to touch it but Daiki gently grabbed her and rocked her in his arms to get her to sleep. I smiled and lay down on the ground, I looked up at the stars, thinking about my dad, my friends, and everything I used to have. Will I ever see them again..?
