Run

Exelirus, lying on the bed in the room Daniela gave him that was covered in the dark shadow of the night, stared blankly at the ceiling, thinking about everything that happened that led to lying on that very bed, in the room, in Daniela's home, and on a planet that wasn't his, from the destruction of Kinex to him crashing down on Earth and everything else that had happened. It all felt like a dream, no, a nightmare, a horrible vivid nightmare. Oh how he wished with all his heart that it really was a nightmare and soon he would wake up and yelling and screaming for his mother, father, and even his brother. The blue boy wanted that so badly that he was willing do literally anything to make it so but the reality of it all was that they were all gone and he was all alone on a world that wasn't his.

The room door then opened up slightly letting in a little light in to cast away the darkness with Daniela on the other side.

"Er…Exce…I mean Exelirus, do you need anything before going to bed maybe a midnight snack. I have a few chocolate chip cookies in the fridge" said Daniela to which Exelirus responded with complete and utter silence, not even moving an inch of his body to her direction to acknowledge her presence.

"Oh, okay then. Well if you need anything I'm just down by the hall", said Daniela with a mix sadness and disappointment evident in her voice before leaving.

Once she was gone, Exelirus continued to reminisce, this time thinking about everything that had happened since the Commander brought him to Daniela's place, from the bland tasting meal he was served with only exception being the cake that was the only thing that came to a descent meal in Kinex, to when he saw Daniela on TV, he recalled everything in the news and how Daniela had swiftly dealt with those robbers and even though the blue hair boy was not particularly fond of her, seeing her in the news bravely fight those crooks, reminded him of his father. A Kinerix Warrior, fast and swift, the protectors of Kinex, the ones who maintained order and peace all throughout Kinex, they were there version of hero in Kinex and none of them were as great as his father, captain Runaro. The fearless runner, that's they called him, a man who would willing dash head first in to danger if it meant he could save a single person on Kinex. Some thought he was bonkers because dire or bleak a situation may seem, he was always willing to stand his ground and fight to protect his people even at the cost of his own life, he was willing to do it all with a smile on his face, which ultimately how he died, with a smile on his face.

Exelirus could stop himself from shedding a tear as they poured down from his face like a running stream, remembering how, while he watched Daniela in the news, for a moment it felt like he was watching his father but that wasn't true, no, it was just a broken and lonely heart trying desperately to cling on to something that was dead and gone. That Exelirus wept, crying his heart out over what he lost and could never get back, until he eventually drifted away to sleep but even in the land of dreams that poor blue haired boy could not find peace.

In his dreams Exelirus looked around his surroundings with a look of pure horror and dread as he found himself standing in the midst of vast waste land covered with the rubble of the fallen cities of Kinex and buried underneath were piles upon piles of lifeless dead bodies. Exelirus upon that death and destruction that surround felt his heart begin to race and his breath becoming heavier and heavier as he struggled to breath, expressing a form of agony no words could ever do justice to.

Exelirus then heard something whispering softly to him through the wind, and although it was nothing more but a faint whisper, he could hear it as loud as though they were yelling directly to his, it a single word, "run".

Exelirus then felt the ground underneath his feet begin to rumble and shake like an army was dashing straight for him. Exelirus then, with a look of horror and dread, slowly turned his head and saw, much to his utter terror and horror, and army of none other than the monsters that invaded his home charging straight for by the thousand. Exelirus then slowly began to back away before dashing away, running as fast as his feet would allow leaving behind a steak of blue kinetrix energy. Exelirus ran and ran with everything he had, running away from the monsters that took everything away from but as he did so, he failed to notice the darkness that was creeping in from all around him. He just expect running and running, then something sprinted past, a familiar silver silhouette followed by a blue one then a red. Exelirus's eyes widened with a look shock with a smile forming on his face.

"Mom, Dad, Sonikro", Exelirus said with watery eyes before to increase his speed, dashing through the seemingly never ending waste land, moving fast and faster with each step just to reach them. All he wanted was to be with them, to be with his family again, it was what fuel and each and every step he took, propelling further and faster to them. And just when it seemed like Exelirus was about to finally reach them as they were only a few short meters away, the blue haired by straight forth his hand to reach his family only for them to be consumed by the darkness as long with everything else.

Exelirus then woke up from that agonizing nightmare, panting profusely as his mind replayed again and again the event of the hellish dream he just had. Exelirus then began cry and slam his arms on the bed out of frustration with a single burning question in his head, why. Why did they all have to leave, why did he survive, why couldn't he have just died with them, why him, he was just a kid, a kid who really missed his family along with his home.

Exelirus eventually stopped cry and slamming his arms repeatedly upon realizing that no matter how tears left eyes or the amount of times nothing could bring his home back or his family. Exelirus then let out a deep sigh before shifting his gaze to the window, spotting the forest which lit up under the silver twilight of the night sky. His family, his people, his world, they were all gone but there was still one thing he had, the only thing connected him to them all.

Exelirus then looked at his two hands, the hands of the last Kinexian, before crushing them into a tight fist with blue spark of kinetrix energy appearing on his arms as he did so. It was time he did was Kinexian did best, the only thing he could that made him feel connected to his world and people, run.
