Chapter 27

Harper was relieved to see Wyatt giving Henry a hard time. She looked up and tried to thank him but found him gazing at her with such tenderness that she almost took a step back.

Suddenly, the line between his act and reality blurred. Harper had never seen Wyatt look at her like that. They both stared at each other, silent. The people around them knew it would be stupid to intervene.

Meanwhile, Henry was speechless and couldn't leave without Wyatt's command since Beta Mac and several warriors stood blocking his car. They watched him intently.

Wyatt reached out and gently caressed Harper's cheeks, his fingers skimming across her jaw and tracing the ring between her collarbones. Her lips parted in a small sigh at his touch, earning a soft smile from him. He spoke in a voice so quiet that only she could hear.

"Good girl."
