Abyssal Devouring Ants

After the conversation about the former disciple of Eldrin, Arturo began training harder. A part of his motivation was the image of him being as well-known as the former disciple, but the main part was the saddened look that Eldrin showed when mentioning him.

A strange desire ignited in Arturo to be what his master wished him to be, a benevolent and righteous mage that would steer the world in the right direction. A different part of him just wished for power that could control his fate.

"Revenge is a good motivation," said Eldrin in one of their lessons, not putting on a façade of kindness. "I became a better mage after losing my wife because I wished for revenge. It's a force that drives you forward and makes you relentless in your pursuit."

"Did you achieve your revenge?" asked Arturo while sitting cross-legged in front of his master.

"I did, with overwhelming might," said Eldrin with a nod. "How do you think it felt?"

"Um… right?"
