Ch. 190: Who Should Rule

The River Styx stretched endlessly before me, its murky waters whispering secrets of the souls it carried. I stood at its edge, alone, my reflection a shadow of the figure I once thought I was. The journey into Tartarus had led me here, to the threshold of a confrontation I'd hoped to avoid. But the enemy had left no choice, drawing me deeper into the heart of the Underworld's darkest corner.

Behind me, Talos, Hecate, Arman, and Charon waited in silence, their expressions tense. I had insisted on continuing alone, but their presence reminded me that even gods needed allies.

"Are you sure about this, Hades?" Talos asked, her voice cutting through the oppressive air. "We don't know what you're walking into."

"I am certain," I replied, though the truth was less clear. "This fight is mine to finish."
