"I was worried you wouldn't be online today. Did that woman touch you again?"

" Please don't worry about me. I decided to drop out of college and help with some of the bills to lessen the load which is leaving me with such little time to chat with you everyday. I almost must work more hours to pay for my brother's treatments."

"You're very young! Isn't there more to life than just work and family? You have your whole future ahead of you. Shouldn't someone else be looking after your family? What about your aspirations and joy?"

"My family makes me happy even on the bad days. I will always prioritize them above all else. You cannot force me to think otherwise. I do not wish to talk about think anymore, I beg of you to change the topic before it ruin my mood."

" Can you believe that today marks our second anniversary of us being internet pals? If you were here, I will buy you whatever dessert your heart desire.'

" That was a tough year. You pulled me out of a really dark place. To be honest, if you never connected with me, I do not know if I will still be here now. I guess in my own weird twisty way, I'm trying to say thank you for always being there for me. I am truly grateful to have at least one person that care for me."

" I wish I could hug you right now.."

" Me too! Sorry to cut our conversation short but I have to head back to work. I might not be able to talk as much due to my crazy schedule ><"

" It's fine bun-bun. I will always be here! Just message me whenever you're available."

" Gottcha! Bye."

Kaelynnee carefully connected her phone to the charger, the soft click confirming the connection. She then reached out to the switch of the elegant lamp on the nightstand. Just as her fingertips brushed against the switch, a sudden movement caused her to inadvertently tip over the picture frame placed beside it. The photo captured a moment of pure joy, frozen in time, showing her and her brother radiating happiness in each other's company. A rush of nostalgia and worry enveloped her as she gently straightened the picture, mindful of the fact that he was currently in the hospital, courageously battling a difficult illness.

" Goodnight, Hide..."

As she readied herself to embrace sleep, she extended her hand and delicately flicked the lamp switch, casting the room into darkness. A feeling of tranquility enveloped her as she rested her head on the plush pillow. Gradually, her breathing steadied, and she succumbed to slumber.

Somewhere in a city that never sleeps...

A strikingly handsome man exited the conference room, his luscious dark hair framing his chiseled jawline. His tall, imposing figure was accentuated by the well-fitted suit that showcased his defined muscles. As he made his way into the office, he briskly glanced down at his phone while securely clutching a stack of documents in his hand.

I wonder, did she already fall asleep?

The assistant solemnly handed him a thick folder, the weight of which seemed heavier than its content. As he opened it, he was confronted with a series of shocking images—his fiancee entangled in an affair with another man. Each photograph revealed a different facet of the betrayal, and the realization hit him like a ton of bricks.

"Amelia, after all these years of what I thought was love and trust, it's hard to understand how you could betray me like this. I need to know if our time together meant anything to you at all."
