Chapter 5: Wakaho vs. Kakashi (1/2)

In the blink of an eye, it was time for the first class of the afternoon.

Combat experience class.

The first day of school was all about giving a taste of what's to come.

Mr. Oki gathered the children around a wooden stake, handing out several shurikens to each child to throw.

This was where the difference between civilian and clan children showed.

Children from ninja clans likely grew up handling explosive tags or shurikens. Throwing them came naturally, and their accuracy was high.

Civilian children, on the other hand, were thrilled if they managed to hit the target once. On the battlefield, they were more likely to be cannon fodder.

It's worth mentioning that in this life, Obito, influenced by Wakaho's interest in (forced) guidance, had learned quite a bit about ninja (fighting) knowledge from a young age.

Obito's shurikens all hit the target, with two even hitting the bullseye.

This might be an average performance, but it was a vast improvement over his previous life.

Swoosh swoosh swoosh!

Kakashi threw several shurikens in quick succession, all hitting the bullseye!

"Wow! Kakashi-kun is amazing!"

"All hits!"

"Now it's the class leader's turn, right? I can't wait…"

"If it's the class leader, he'll definitely hit all of them too!"

Despite being the top student in their first-year class for just three periods, Kakashi had already garnered quite a bit of admiration.

Now it was the class leader, Wakaho's, turn.

The Uchiha clan's appearance never disappoints.

Though Wakaho's buzz cut stood out among the other Uchiha, it added a certain domineering aura in addition to his aloofness.

"Big bro, here you go!"

Obito eagerly ran to retrieve the shurikens, something he often did.

"Hmm…"

Wakaho didn't rush to throw; instead, he looked at Kakashi.

"Given the huge gap between us and my duty as class leader to protect my classmates, I'll share some information before our match begins."

Wakaho toyed with the shuriken in his hand. "Watch closely, shurikens should be thrown like this!"

Swoosh!

Six shurikens flew out almost simultaneously, their whistling nearly synchronized!

But the directions they flew in had slight differences. These differences amplified over distance, causing the shurikens to collide with each other and change trajectories!

Bang bang bang!

After a second lock-on, all the shurikens hit the target, precisely aligning in a straight line across different areas!

"Wow!!!!"

"As expected of the class leader, so cool!"

"The class leader's shuriken technique is amazing, forming a perfect line!"

"What should I do? Kakashi-kun is on the left, the class leader is on the right, it's so hard to choose…"

The Sharingan, the earlier it awakens, the better.

Even though Wakaho only had a single tomoe, he had been practicing with the Sharingan since he was two years old, throwing stones!

By now, even without activating the Sharingan, his aim was impeccable!

"Wow! This little brat."

Mr. Oki chuckled and shook his head, not surprised by Wakaho's shuriken skills.

The time for surprises had long passed.

After witnessing so much throughout the morning, Mr. Oki had become quite accustomed to these displays of skill!

'Changing trajectories through collision…'

'This requires precise calculations and control over force.'

Kakashi frowned at the target. Having trained with his father from a young age, he understood the difficulty of Wakaho's technique.

It's not that he couldn't do it.

It just required a lot of practice time.

And ever since he began training with his father, his focus had always been on the Hatake swordsmanship.

Looking at Wakaho again, Kakashi's gaze finally became serious.

Though he hadn't yet experienced the darkness of the ninja world, Kakashi was still just a boy.

He still had a competitive spirit...

Alright.

Though his soul was an adult, Wakaho, enjoying this journey through time, had the mindset of a complete teenager.

It was said that Kakashi in his early years had the makings of a protagonist.

Graduating in six months, becoming a Chūnin in another six, and by the time his peers were Chūnin, he was already a Jōnin.
