Chapter 5: Wakaho vs. Kakashi (2/2)

Wakaho, with his single tomoe activated, was prepared for a serious comparison of skills against this "protagonist" Kakashi!

"Alright, next up is the practical combat exercise."

"Kakashi and Wakaho, step forward. The rest of you, move back!"

Mr. Oki had noticed the tension between the two boys. Instead of stopping them, he encouraged the match, recognizing the potential in both.

One was the son of the White Fang, a renowned ninja. The other was a prodigy from the Uchiha clan. Both were clearly talented.

Competition between them could foster growth and even lead to future teamwork.

Unfortunately, the original plan also included three Hinata students, but their absence was noted.

'I wonder how the Third Hokage will handle this situation.'

As Mr. Oki saw the two boys already beginning their stances, he gave the command, "Begin!"

Swoosh!

Mr. Oki used Body Flicker Technique to exit the scene.

In the next second—

Swoosh!

The two boys clashed, their right forearms meeting with a powerful impact!

'His strength is on par with mine.' Kakashi quickly assessed.

'His speed is actually faster than mine?' Wakaho also noticed the issue.

At the point of impact, Kakashi had indeed pushed half a step further.

'That doesn't make sense… I've practiced short sprints with Obito regularly.'

Wakaho was not entirely convinced.

Kakashi was even more frustrated.

He had trained his strength from a young age and couldn't believe he was at a disadvantage against his peers.

No way!

With an extra 20% of his effort, Kakashi launched another attack, aiming a knee strike at Wakaho.

Wakaho almost laughed at the near-comical attack. It reminded him of Obito's favorite move during their street brawls—a knee strike that was often a feint.

But the knee strike was just a feint; Obito's true "killer move" was actually stepping on toes.

Bang!

Wakaho used one hand to press down on Kakashi's knee, trying to disrupt his balance with a small hook kick.

Kakashi, not one to sit idly, swung his free left fist at Wakaho, even if it meant falling himself!

Wakaho had no intention of taking a hit from the punch.

Kakashi's speed was faster by half a second, gaining the initiative. In this exchange, Wakaho was already at a disadvantage.

So, it was time for a rematch in round two!

Wakaho's way of ending the round was straightforward: a headbutt. It dodged Kakashi's punch and aimed straight at Kakashi's nose!

'This crazy guy!'

The forehead was much harder than the nose. Kakashi's knee pushed harder, using the recoil to quickly retreat from Wakaho's headbutt.

The two distanced themselves.

Kakashi pulled out a kunai.

Wakaho also revealed his Sharingan.

Mr. Oki tensed up, worried about potential injuries to the two kids.

The scene was silent; the classmates had even forgotten to cheer. Both top students in the class were incredible!

It was Obito who broke the silence with a shout.

"Big bro! Burn him up!"

Wakaho smirked slightly.

Though Obito appeared not very bright, having grown up with him, they had this mutual understanding.

Wakaho also had kunai, and his ninja tool pouch even contained shurikens.

But why not use them?

That was because... it was time to use ninjutsu!

Wakaho quickly performed hand signs. Thanks to his previous life's expertise in pen-spinning and the enhancement of his Sharingan, Wakaho's hand speed became a blur of motion!

'So fast!'

Kakashi's eyes narrowed. He hadn't anticipated Wakaho's hand signs being so swift, and he couldn't disrupt him in time.

He could only retreat to gain some space and threw away his kunai, performing hand signs quickly as well!

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Technique!"

(One second later)

"Earth Style: Earth-Style Wall!"

The two jutsu were released almost simultaneously. The Great Fireball soared through the air, blazing with intense heat, while Kakashi's Earth-Style Wall rose up as a sturdy barrier to block the attack.

Both techniques were impressive, showcasing their respective talents and training. The clash of their abilities was a testament to their skills and the competition's intensity.
