Chapter 12

"What's this?" Andrew saw the word "medical record" on it and a bad feeling welled up inside him.

Grace remained silent, only staring at him with piercing eyes.

Andrew froze for a moment, took a deep breath, and slowly crouched down to pick up the medical record. His hands trembled as he opened it, unable to understand most of the medical terms, but the words "malignant brain tumor" instantly twisted his heart into a knot.

Echoes of Harper's words, "I'm sick, very serious, won't live long," rang in his ears, and his hands trembled so much that he could barely hold the medical record.

The medical record showed that Harper had visited the neurology department several times, had been prescribed some medication, and the date of the last page's signature was the same day Harper had said the hospital had arranged for her to donate her corneas for transplantation.

Andrew shuddered suddenly. No, it couldn't be, it couldn't be what he was thinking!
