Chapter 13

As those words came out, Harper seemed to freeze, as if she had stopped breathing for a moment, and remained silent for a long time.

Andrew felt a sudden annoyance and impatience. "I'm tired of this stupid dog. Have Jacob come and take it to the shelter."

In reality, no matter how much trouble the dog caused, it couldn't provoke Harper. Andrew felt childish and disinterested, so he gave it up.

Harper hesitated, "We could send him to a training school..."

"Training? To become a guide dog? You find me troublesome?"

"No, I want Doggy to develop good habits and find him a new owner," Harper said. "After all, animal shelters are not a good place."

She then realized belatedly that Andrew didn't like the dog. She had been calling it "Doggy" without a proper name.
