Chapter 7 The Younger Uncle Stands Up for Her

Du Xinlan and Yang Suhua ordered dishes from a Henan cuisine restaurant and returned to the hospital.

Just as they were about to enter the ward, they saw Han Yang carrying a special food bag from Wanjiang Banquet, passing by them.

Enraged to the point of fuming, Du Xinlan cursed inwardly at the detestable little wretch who not only avoided humiliation but also got to enjoy the luxurious meals from Wanjiang Banquet.

After Han Yang had left, Du Xinlan pushed open An Yan's hospital room door.

An Yan, seeing the woman's commanding presence, felt repulsed. She set down her chopsticks and said coldly, "What is it?"

With gritted teeth, Du Xinlan retorted, "Do you think you deserve to eat the dishes from Wanjiang Banquet?"

The door to the ward was pushed open once again, and the man spoke in a grave voice, "If she doesn't deserve it, do you think you do?"

Fu Shiyan's brows were furrowed with a frosty chill, and his thin lips were pressed into a firm line, clearly showing his anger.

Han Yang followed behind him, not expecting that Fu Shiyan would come after all.

He had clearly said he wouldn't come.

Immediately, Du Xinlan's demeanor shifted as she flashed an ingratiating smile, "President Fu, what brings you here?"

"If I hadn't come, how would I have seen your two-faced nature?"

The man's words made Du Xinlan's face flush red and then pale, her lips trembling with anger, yet she didn't dare to talk back.

She tugged at her lips while clenching her hands so tightly that her nails were digging into her palms.

After taking a deep breath, she forced a smile and said, "President Fu, since you're here to see An Yan, I won't bother you anymore. I'll head back first." With that, she made a hasty and embarrassed exit.

An Yan stood up, "Thank you, Younger Uncle."

Fu Shiyan hadn't intended to come, but thinking of Du Xinlan and Yang Suhua's attitude towards An Yan, he feared they would take out their frustrations on her, so he decided to come and see for himself.

As expected, the situation he'd anticipated had occurred.

He couldn't help but think how difficult it must be for this girl to live in such an environment.

Looking at the girl's reddened eyes, Fu Shiyan felt she was like a little rabbit that was easy to bully, his heart softened, and his tone inadvertently became gentler, "No need to be polite. Do the dishes suit your taste?"

An Yan nodded her head, "They are all dishes I love to eat."

Fu Shiyan chuckled lightly, "Then take your time enjoying them. I have a meeting this afternoon."

An Yan quickly stepped forward, dutifully saying, "Then let me walk you to the door."

Fu Shiyan nodded slightly.

An Yan watched the man's tall figure, her lips curving slightly upward, not returning to the ward until he had turned the corner.

Having someone to protect her felt wonderful, and seeing Du Xinlan defeated felt even better.

With these thoughts, the food in her mouth seemed to taste even better.

Three in the afternoon.

Han Yang knocked on the door of the president's office and respectfully said, "President Fu, after investigation by our tech team, at three in the morning, an amount of eleven million was transferred into Jiangcheng Disability Center's account. However, the account used for the transfer was a burner and was deactivated afterward."

As he reviewed the documents, Fu Shiyan's pen paused. The method of operation was identical to that of the kidnapper who had sent him a video and demanded money the night before.

He suddenly laughed softly, "Could it be that the kidnapper had a change of heart and donated all the money?"

Han Yang: "..."

"Log into the dark web and hire the hacker Lone Wolf to track down this kidnapper."

"Understood." Han Yang said, "President Fu, then I'll go to the hospital to arrange Miss An Yan's discharge." Fu Shiyan hummed in acknowledgment and continued reading his documents.

Ten minutes later, Han Yang received a call from Fu Shiyan.

"Come back and pick me up."

"?" Han Yang was utterly confused, hadn't they said they wouldn't go earlier? Now why did they want to go again? It's better not to guess what's on President's mind—no matter how much you guess, you won't be able to figure it out!

Han Yang acknowledged and turned the car around to pick up his boss, President Fu.

Fu Shiyan closed the document in his hand and threw it onto the desk.

He rubbed his brow, reminding himself that he needed to stay away from An Yan since he had actually begun to harbor primitive desires for her.

But An Yan's situation was really tough, and he found himself unable to turn a blind eye after all.

Considering that after An Yan was discharged from the hospital, there would hardly be any chance of meeting her, almost zero.

Thinking about her future days in the An Family, he felt it necessary to teach the An Family a lesson, to not treat others as if they were nothing, and not to think too highly of themselves either.

Meanwhile, An Yan put on the white lace long dress Han Yang had delivered at noon. She turned around twice, finding it fit perfectly, although she preferred something more casual like a sports suit.

She walked out of the hospital room wanting some fresh air and saw Yang Suhua walking towards her, blocking her way at the door. Yang Suhua pointed at her nose, seeming to vent all the frustration she felt from earlier, "What are you, huh? Fu Chenyu got beaten up because of you, and Yirou was splashed with water by you. How can you be so vicious!"

Fu Chenyu got beaten up?

Could it be that last night, Fu Shiyan said he would take care of it, and he actually beat up Fu Chenyu?

Though it was immensely satisfying, she worried if his wound had been aggravated.

Seeing An Yan lost in thought, Yang Suhua commanded haughtily, "You go and apologize to Yirou and Chenyu!"

An Yan's eyebrows rose sharply, "They asked for it themselves, it's not my fault. Apologize? Impossible!"

"Disaster! Ever since you came back, the An Family has never had a day of peace! Where do you think you can compare to Yirou?" Yang Suhua said this without much confidence because An Yan's face was so stunningly attractive, but she couldn't admit it.

She continued to attack, "You are good for nothing, yet you're fighting over a man with your sister?"

An Yan laughed, "Me fighting with An Yirou over a man? I was the one originally engaged to Fu Chenyu! An Yirou is the one who meddled as the third party!"

"Now Chenyu and Yirou are together. Don't stir up any more trouble! Otherwise, I'll send you back to the countryside!"

An Yan glances aside, catching sight of a figure approaching her. All the words she intended to retort rushed back down her throat. Yang Suhua huffed, "Let me tell you, next month, Chenyu and Yirou will get engaged. If you cause any problems, I won't let you off! The day after tomorrow, clean yourself up, and go meet the Li Family's young master for a blind date. Don't paint yourself into that ghostly look again! Do you hear me?"

Seeing that An Yan was not responding to her, she pushed her, "Disaster! Are you listening to me or not?"

"Stop it!" A man's voice, cold and filled with anger, rang out.

Turning towards the direction of the voice, she saw the man impeccably dressed, exuding an imposing aura as he walked over.

Her face underwent a drastic change to feigned surprise, with a smile that almost reached her ears.

"President Fu, you've arrived!"

Fu Shiyan gave the other party a glance, one filled with contempt, then turned to look at An Yan.

The girl, in a white long dress, with her black soft hair draped over her slim back, looked obedient and pitiable with her eyes brimming with red, which moved him to gesture, "Come here."

An Yan pursed her lips and walked toward the man, softly calling out, "Younger Uncle."

Fu Shiyan asked in a low voice, "Does it hurt?"

An Yan knew he was asking about the push from Yang Suhua.

She shook her head, "It doesn't hurt."

Fu Shiyan looked at Yang Suhua, who was all smiles in appeasement, and his cold eyes narrowed, "I never imagined the An Family wouldn't care for their own granddaughter, and instead shower love on one who has no blood ties to them. It's truly an eye-opener for me!"

Yang Suhua laughed sheepishly, "An Yan has been raised in the countryside, she has many bad habits, and we're just being strict for her own good."

"Being strict? To discipline her so she can later be used as a pawn in a marriage alliance?" Fu Shiyan's voice was chilly, and his handsome face under the light seemed exceptionally stern, "I hope you treat An Yan with the same regard as everyone else!"
