Chapter 8 Call Him Ayan

Yang Suhua hardly dared to breathe, fearful that Fu Shiyan would become displeased and throw a wrench into the marriage alliance between the two families.

Fu Shiyan looked at An Yan, "Let's go."

An Yan nodded and followed the man's steps.

Han Yang followed behind the two, feeling very shocked; after all, Fu Shiyan rarely became angry over irrelevant people and matters.

It seemed An Yan held a special place for Fu Shiyan.

Once in the car, Fu Shiyan loosened his tie, looking at An Yan, "I'll take you to dinner, then send you back to the An Family."

"Younger Uncle, that home doesn't belong to me, nor does it welcome me." An Yan lowered her eyes, her black hair cascading down and covering her pale little face.

Fu Shiyan had seen everything that happened, and he knew An Yan's circumstances within the An Family were difficult.

Everyone in the An Family knew that Fu Chenyu was with An Yirou, and not only did they not scold them, but they even encouraged them more.

After all, as far as the An Family was concerned, as long as a daughter could marry into the Fu Family, it was enough.

Arranged marriages between powerful families were indeed normal, but the An Family's greed and strong display of it were not common.

Fu Shiyan's fingertips tapped against the car window frame as he spoke indifferently, "Chenyu did wrong by you in this matter, consider it a debt the Fu Family owes you. I have an apartment in Bishui Bay under my name, fully equipped and close to your school. It will be transferred to your name tomorrow."

An apartment in Bishui Bay was worth a fortune with every square inch dear; a mere two hundred square meters could be worth upwards of thirty million.

An Yan looked up at him, "Really?"

"Really."

An Yan naturally wouldn't refuse the man's offer, after all, she wanted to keep in touch with him.

She smiled, "Then do I have a home of my own now?"

"Yes. If there's anything else you want, just ask. I'll see to it, as long as it's within my power."

An Yan cast a grateful look, her little nose reddening in an adorable manner, "Thank you, Younger Uncle. Younger Uncle, I heard you taught Fu Chenyu a lesson, did that not aggravate your injury?"

"It's nothing."

"Thank you for taking up for me, Younger Uncle." An Yan thought back to last night when Fu Shiyan said he would give her an explanation; it turned out to be thrashing Fu Chenyu, which couldn't have been more satisfying.

Fu Shiyan glanced at her before returning his gaze to the window, grunting lightly.

Moon Restaurant was a top-tier establishment in Jiangcheng, frequented by the rich and powerful.

The place was uniquely decorated with pavilions, terraces, and open halls, small bridges over flowing streams, exuding an ancient charm – high-end and sophisticated.

Of course, the culinary flavors were exceptional, and dining here required a reservation at least three days in advance.

Upon seeing Fu Shiyan bringing a girl into the 'One-View' private dining room, a waiter immediately reported to the owner.

The owner came in, smiling warmly, "Shiyan's here. And this is?"

"An Yan."

Fu Shiyan introduced An Yan, "This is Sister Tang, the owner of Moon Restaurant."

An Yan dutifully called out, "Sister Tang."

Su Litang looked An Yan up and down, inquiring tentatively, "Is she Chenyu's fiancée?"

Fu Shiyan denied outright, "No, without an engagement banquet, she is not a fiancée."

Su Litang was wise; surely something had happened.

She smiled meaningfully at An Yan, "This is the first time Shiyan has brought a girl here to dine."

"Haven't I also brought Jinqiao here before?" Fu Shiyan poured two glasses of water and pushed one to An Yan.

Su Litang clucked her tongue, "But Jinqiao calls you 'Younger Uncle.'

"She calls me that too."

Su Litang spoke with a smile, "But speaking of which, Jinqiao is due to return soon, right?"

"She'll be back in about a half month. She's been clamoring to come to Moon Restaurant for the pastries you make."

"No problem, I'll make whatever she wants to eat." Su Litang turned to An Yan, "Tell Sister Tang whatever you'd like to eat, today's on me."

An Yan's lips curved slightly, "Thank you, Sister Tang, I can eat anything."

"Then I'll prepare a few of the restaurant's specialties for you. Just wait a moment; I'll arrange for your dishes to be made first."

Fu Shiyan's lips curled, "Thank you."

Seeing Su Litang leave, Fu Shiyan ran his fingers along the rim of his cup, "Sister Tang speaks her mind straightforwardly, don't take it to heart. In my eyes, you and Jinqiao are the same, both my nieces."

An Yan understood the man's meaning; he didn't want her to misunderstand his kindness towards her as the type between a man and a woman, but rather the kind of care from an elder to a younger family member.

Although she felt uncomfortable inside, she still nodded and smiled, "I understand, Younger Uncle."

It wasn't long before Sister Tang pushed a dining cart into the private room and personally arranged eight signature dishes on the table, giving a grand introduction for each before she retreated.

Fu Shiyan wiped his hands with a hot towel, "Moon Restaurant's crispy duck is very famous; you should try it."

An Yan nodded, picked up a piece of duck skin, "It melts in the mouth, tender and fragrant. Delicious."

Afterward, she tried other dishes as well, providing reasonable evaluations for each.

Listening to An Yan's substantial comments, speaking with such ease and conviction, Fu Shiyan thought she didn't at all resemble the ignorant country bumpkin rumored to have come from the countryside.

His gaze deepened.

At that moment, there was a knock on the door of the private room.

Fu Shiyan wasn't thinking much and assumed it was the staff, so he allowed the person to come in.

When he saw who it was, the man's hand holding the chopsticks paused.

The woman's tender voice rang out, "Shiyan, I didn't expect you to be here too."

Fu Shiyan's expression was indifferent as he hummed a response.

Jiang Nan's eyes burned with passion as she looked at the man's aloof face, not able to hide the love at the bottom of her eyes.

Even though she always felt like she was met with a cold shoulder whenever she saw Fu Shiyan, she appreciated his indifferent nature; it was mesmerizing, as if nothing in this world could perturb his mind.

At the large round table, there were two seats between Fu Shiyan and An Yan.

Jiang Nan walked over to sit beside Fu Shiyan, turned her head to smile at him and said, "I saw staff coming in and out of the One-View, and guessed you might have come, so I decided to check it out." She looked toward An Yan, "And this is?"

Fu Shiyan put down the chopsticks in his hand and looked towards An Yan, "Have you finished eating?"

An Yan nodded her head, "Yes."

"Then let's go," said Fu Shiyan as he stood up.

Following him out of the private room, An Yan said in a low voice, "Younger Uncle, I'd like to go to the restroom."

"Alright, I'll wait for you in the car."

An Yan hummed in acknowledgment, watched the man walk towards the elevator, then turned to head into the restroom.

When she came out of the stall, she saw Jiang Nan standing in front of the mirror applying lipstick.

After washing her hands, she prepared to leave.

Jiang Nan stepped to the left, blocking her path, and lifted her chin in an arrogant manner, "What's your name?"

An Yan stared at her coldly, "Move aside."

Jiang Nan scoffed, "Look at the act you're putting on. Who do you think you are? You think you can bewitch Shiyan just because you have a pure-looking face? Don't fool yourself into thinking that because Shiyan took you out for a meal today, you have some kind of story with him! I'm telling you, Shiyan's woman can only be me! Have some sense, and stay away from Shiyan!"

"Are you done ranting?"

"What?" Jiang Nan's eyes widened in disbelief, "How dare you insult me?"

"I was saying, as soon as you arrived, Ayan took me away. It turns out you were stinking the place up with your nonsense," An Yan's lips curled, "Move, a good dog doesn't block the way!"

"Ayan is also for you to call?" Jiang Nan's eyes nearly burst with anger, "What do you think you are!"

"A good donkey doesn't bray without reason!"

"You!"

Suddenly, An Yan lifted her foot and kicked towards the woman's abdomen.
