Chapter 9 Caught Snooping

Jiang Nan was shocked and quickly stepped back, but her high heels were unstable, and she twisted her left ankle and fell to the ground.

Miss An Yan withdrew her foot and tilted her head with a smile, "I was just moving my foot, why are you so agitated? However, I kindly advise you, next time you see me, walk around me." Having said that, she went straight through the doorway, surpassing the fallen woman.

Jiang Nan hadn't expected that Miss An Yan was merely toying with her. Struggling to her feet, she braced herself on the counter, her lips trembling with anger.

She took out her mobile phone and made a call, "Old Xu, can you keep an eye on Shiyan's car and see where they are heading later?"

"Yes, Miss."

As Miss An Yan left the Moon Restaurant, she saw Han Yang standing at the rear door of the car. Once he saw her approaching, he promptly opened the door.

"Thank you, Assistant Han."

"Not at all, Miss An Yan."

Miss An Yan bent over and sat in the car, leaning against the door, leaving a space for one person between herself and Fu Shiyan.

Fu Shiyan, seeing Han Yang get in the car, said, "Go to the An Family."

"Yes, President Fu."

The car drove on a wide road; Miss An Yan stealthily glanced at the man leaning against the seat with his eyes closed. The dim streetlights cast a faint glow on his exceptionally handsome face—the prominent nose, the thin lips, dazzlingly captivating.

Suddenly, the man opened his eyes and their gazes met.

Miss An Yan's heart skipped a beat, feeling slightly caught in the act.

Just then, Han Yang broke the awkward silence.

"President Fu, there's a car following us."

With a look of profound depth, Fu Shiyan's handsome face turned serious and he said in a low, cold voice, "Stop the car!"

Han Yang obeyed and slammed on the brakes.

The tires screeched loudly as they halted abruptly.

The car following them, which had been keeping a moderate distance, found itself braking suddenly to avoid crashing into the rear lights of the Maybach.

Han Yang got out of the car and knocked on the window of the following car, "Following President Fu, how many heads do you have to spare?"

Driver Old Xu was sweating profusely with his hands trembling on the steering wheel. He didn't dare speak, listening to the scolding.

Han Yang pushed up his gold-rimmed glasses, "Tell Miss Jiang to mind her own business. Next time, I won't be polite!"

Only after the Maybach had driven away did Old Xu tremblingly start the car and pull over to the side of the road, dialing a number.

"Miss, Miss."

"What happened? Where did they go?"

Old Xu wiped the sweat from his forehead, "I, I was discovered. Assistant Han came out and scolded me, and he said some words."

"What did he say?"

"He said, tell Miss you need to know your place and there won't be mercy next time."

Hysterical shouting came from the other end of the phone, "That damned dog, why would he say that to me! And you, so stupid to get caught! Now get back here to pick me up!"

"Yes, Miss."

Inside the Maybach.

Fu Shiyan pressed his brow, "Is there something on my face?"

Miss An Yan quickly realized that Fu Shiyan was asking about her sneaking peeks at him.

She calmly shook her head, "No, I was just going to tell you that our car seemed to be followed. Luckily, Assistant Han reported it timely."

Fu Shiyan chuckled softly, "You're quite responsive."

That ambiguous statement left Miss An Yan uncertain whether the man was referring to her quick defense about their earlier conversation, or the alertness about being followed.

Miss An Yan slightly curved her lips but said no more, looking out the window at the continuously retreating streetscape.

Soon, the car stopped in front of the An Family mansion.

Fu Shiyan spoke softly, "Whenever you want to move into Bishui Bay, just call Han Yang."

Miss An Yan nodded and got out of the car.

Watching the tail lights dissolve into the night, she then turned and entered the mansion.

On the couch, four pairs of eyes all simultaneously turned toward Miss An Yan.

An Zaili asked, puzzled, "Miss An Yan, did you say something inappropriate to the Fu Family's younger uncle?"

An Yan smiled, "What do you think?"

Du Xinlan spoke sharply, "You are a member of the An Family, know your place and watch your words!"

An Yan crossed her arms, "All I said was the truth. What are you all afraid of?"

Yang Suhua said coldly, "What kind of attitude is that? As a member of the An Family, you should be aware that your honor and disgrace are tied to the family."

An Yan's laughter shook, "Sure, don't worry. I couldn't hope for anything more than for Yirou to marry Fu Chenyu soon."

Watching Yirou let out a long sigh, she passed the four people, walked up the stairs, and when she reached the turn on the second floor, she looked back and smiled, "After all, dung beetles and dung balls are the perfect match!"

An Yan ignored the sounds of anger and scolding coming from downstairs and returned to her room.

She took out her laptop, logged onto the dark web, and found that there were many high-reward tasks.

: Find Bounty Hunter Mo, one billion.

: Find Bounty Hunter Night, one billion.

: Find a Tang Dynasty Buddha head, fifty million.

: Find the tomb-raiding expert Tu Long, one hundred million.

...

After browsing through them, she picked the least conspicuous task: Find kidnappers, reward one million.

She clicked accept and replied: I will find the kidnapper's location within three days, but capturing is not within my responsibilities.

Soon the other party replied: OK!

: Provide the necessary information.

The other party quickly uploaded the video and virtual account information to her.

An Yan barely held back a laugh as she sent an OK gesture.

She picked up her phone, dialed Bi Chong's number, and made the call.

"Boss!"

"I've taken on a task."

"Boss, you've finally taken on a task! These last two years you've been traveling all over, and I've been getting rusty."

An Yan laughed, "This time I'll keep you so busy you'll be jumping with joy. If it's successful, I'll reward you with five million."

"That sounds great."

"Where have you settled down recently?"

"Fortune Garden A2-1-1002. Are you coming to see me, boss?"

An Yan hummed, "I'll call you before I come."

"Alright then, see you when you come!"

After hanging up, An Yan took out pen and paper to start drawing designs for clothes and jewelry. After all, the summer styles were continuously being updated.

Since she established Galaxy Design Studio, she had acted as a hands-off manager.

Su Yue handled all the affairs of the studio on a daily basis, while she only took care of the drawings and watched the amount in her bank account steadily increase.

Touching her conscience, she felt somewhat guilty.

Only late at night did An Yan feel sleepy.

She stretched languidly and suddenly remembered she hadn't messaged Fu Shiyan tonight.

She opened WeChat, found the Starry Sky avatar pinned to the top, and typed in the message box, 'Younger Uncle, good night'.

After checking the time and feeling it was a bit late for a good night wish, she deleted it.

After pondering for a while, she felt it essential at this stage to make her presence felt to Fu Shiyan.

So, she sent the message anyway: Good night, Younger Uncle.

After waiting for two minutes with no response, she got up to wash up.

Unbeknownst to her, the words "The other party is typing" appeared at the top of the interface, but the message was never sent.
