Upon hearing this, Le Xaan was stunned for a moment before replying,
"Thank you for your reminder, Reverend Youny!"
Le Xaan looked over his shoulder and waved at Youny Geey.
Then, he and his guards went back the way they came.
The mountain roads were rugged and sloping, slowing down the horses. Veur Hamvy now rode alongside Le Xaan to protect him.
The rest of the guards were still dwelling on the experiences from not long ago, and their fear was not completely fading away. At that moment, the column sank into silence, only the sound of hooves within earshot.
Le Xaan was still pondering.
"Major Ghost Spirit! An ordinary Ghost Spirit already nearly drove me to the wall, let alone a Major Ghost Spirit. Just by its name, I can determine that it is stronger than the two I've encountered."
He now felt greatly stressed.
After killing another Ghost Spirit, he thought that he held some power to protect himself. Yet, hearing Youny Geey's words, he came to realize that he was still in a precarious situation.
"I can smell something fishy in the city. In prior times, the City Head mobilized the people to search for an item or a person. Now, so many Ghost Spirits popped up out of nowhere. I don't believe that the two events had no business to do with one another."
"For now, I could only enhance my strength by upgrading Dark Shadow by one more level, without any other means."
He furrowed his brows.
In his embrace, the currently demented Le Cinci stretched out her hand to stroke his knitted brows and giggled meaninglessly.
Le Xaan held his younger sister's hand down as he continued his thoughts.
"Since there are some people knowing of the existence of Ghost Spirits, why do they not spread the knowledge? What's their purpose?
Youny Geey and Dquan Ronri's timely arrival is quite coincidental, almost immediately after the notice was put up.
Perhaps there are some people pulling strings behind the scenes."
But what Young Geey told him about blood and talent was convincing. Le Xaan now fully believed that Youny Geey's blood empowered him to exorcise spirits. And that type of blood was something necessary for a person to step into another realm.
Then, Youny Geey's words crossed his mind once more, making him restless.
Without the endowed talent, he was an ordinary folk that Youny Geey referred to. Even though Youny Geey told Le Xaan that he had already punched well above his weight as an ordinary person, Le Xaan knew that the strength disparity between him and Youny Geey was still significant.
The so-called talent brought about a gaping divide between Le Xaan and the people in that realm. Le Xaan could almost visualize the hardships he had to face when he tried to tackle spirits in the future.
Le Xaan kept thinking while riding along the way.
After they made their way into the city and then back to the Mansion, Le Xaan felt more settled and dismounted from the horse.
Then, he saw Le Finn stride over, followed by Louir Cayv, whose face now revealed an expression of relief as she laid eyes on Le Cinci in Le Xaan's arms.
Le Xaan now felt guilty.
"Come over and help Cinci get back to her bedroom. Give her a bath, then let her rest. "
He ordered the few servant girls nearby in a loud voice.
Le Xaan then asked a few more maidservants to bathe and take care of the other two idiots.
Le Finn and Louir Cayv now could tell something was wrong. The expressions of the three of them, including Le Cinci, hinted at something abnormal.
Le Cinci's eyes were sluggish and dull; as she saw her parents, Le Cinci remained silent and yawned as if she was unfamiliar with them.
"Xaan? What... happened....??" Louir Cayv's face turned ashen as she asked in a shuddering voice.
"Let's go in first and then talk about it."
Le Xaan then gestured for the guards to leave and to go to rest.
As Le Xaan walked into the Mansion, he ordered a servant to prepare the silver certificates so that they could give the bounty to Youny Geey and Quane Feiy at any time.
Then, Le Xaan and the other family members made their way to the main hall in the rear part of the Mansion.
After ordering the servants and guards to take their leave, Le Xaan sat down and began to recount in detail how he discovered Le Cinci.
After Le Xaan finished his story, Louir Cayv's eyes rolled upward as she crumpled down the chair; she fainted.
"Second Mother!" At the sight of this, Le Xaan immediately rushed up to help Louir Cayv up. And the other family members also hurriedly walked up to inspect and pat her, trying to wake her up.
"Cinci..." Le Finn seemed to have aged several more years now. He looked depressed and shriveled, seated still on his chair.
"Is there really no remedies for her?"
Le Finn turned to Le Xaan, asking with the last shred of hope in his bosom.
"Perhaps we can beg Reverend Youny for help. He must know how to..."
Le Xaan closed his eyes and shook his head with a gloomy face.
"I have already consulted him..."
Le Xaan said with a bitterness-tinted voice.
"As far as I am concerned, Second Sister is now better than before... she wouldn't cause troubles for the family and wander around now..."
Le Yinin, the Fifth Mother's daughter, muttered.
The other family members did not hear her mumbling, but Le Xaan did. Due to his martial arts training, he now sported keen senses of vision and hearing. He heard it more than clearly.
He lifted his head and glared at Le Yinin sternly.
The latter's body quaked a little from the fear. She did not dare to speak anymore.
