Too Much Heat for a Movie Night

Adriel pressed pause, freezing the characters mid-action. One of the actors was facing the camera with a smug smirk, like he was mocking Adriel.

"What are you looking at?" he muttered, pointing an accusatory finger at the screen. "I said I'm not dying a virgin twice."

He flopped on the couch, crossing and uncrossing his legs like he was trying to find a comfortable position on a rollercoaster.

"Why is it so difficult to get a real kiss? It's not like I'm asking for the impossible!"

Adriel let out a heavy sigh, sinking back into the cushions, idly playing with the cord of the lamp, twisting it around his finger.

Just then, the lamp flickered again, throwing a momentary shadow over Adriel. He shot it a warning glance, irritated.

"You're partly at fault for ruining the moment. Just try blinking again, I dare you," he muttered, reaching for the switch, but then paused.

Hadn't he turned it off earlier? Strange. Was it getting back at him?
