Arin finally stopped staring at the bodies, realizing that Tessa was already close to him.
Tessa had a small smile on her face as she approached Arin. "That was incredible. You singlehandedly defeated all of them without allowing anyone slip past."
'He also used his Water Element Spells critically,' Tessa thought, 'like the Water Bubble.'
But of course, she was also having another thought.
'These Spells he used... They're also the only Water Element Spells I've seen Chaos use.'
At this point, Arin was getting more and more suspicious to Tessa. Though, she decided to leave those thoughts for when she returns back to the Academy.
'But I'll still keep observing him.'
"Thank you," Arin said. "So, what do you think?"
Tessa understood what he meant by that. "Don't worry, you'll hear my report when we return back to the Academy."
Arin noticed the way Tessa has been staring at him even before they left the Academy, and even after defeating the bandits.
'There's no doubt,' Arin thought, 'she's definitely suspicious.'
He stretched out his hand, giving her the sword back. 'And I'll have to do something about that.'
Tessa collected the sword from him, but before she could say anything....
"Yes! They've finally been defeated!"
Fang's voice was heard, making Arin and Tessa turn their heads towards that direction. They saw her running and jumping towards them like a little child, with a wide smile on her face.
Tessa chuckled as she walked towards Fang with Arin strolling behind her.
"Thank you so much!" Fang exclaimed as she lowered her head a bit in gratitude, making her bob-shaped green hair bounce.
Her slight bow was directed at Arin, though the look in her eyes still showed that she was appreciative towards the both of them.
Arin walked forward with a slight smile on his face. "Don't worry, they won't bother anyone again."
Fang nodded her head as her smile widened.
'It must really be tough for her,' Arin thought.
That aside, he moved to the next phase of his plan.
"Will you mind helping me carry the bodies to the forest?" Arin asked Fang.
"Of course! That won't be a problem at all!"
Fang's response was instant, as if she didn't even think about it at all.
Arin turned to look at Tessa before speaking. "We'll be right back."
He made sure that his expression was soft, and it seemed to work, because...
'Oh, where's his usual indifferent expression?' Tessa thought. 'No, maybe he just lightened up without knowing.'
Tessa just kept thinking about Arin's sudden soft expression that she almost forgot to reply.
"Oh, y....yes, I'll be waiting here," she stammered.
Arin nodded and smiled before walking away with Fang.
"He even smiled at me?" Tessa whispered to herself. "No, just because he's showing soft emotions like this doesn't rule off the fact that he might be Chaos."
Meanwhile, Arin and Fang had already reached where the bodies of the bandits were. The forest was just outside the exit gate, so disposing the bodies there wouldn't take long at all.
'Thankfully, she didn't insist to follow us,' Arin thought.
He quickly picked up the bodies of the last four bandits he killed, which were the three Mages, and the leader. He picked them up by their collars and held two in each hand.
Fang's eyes widened slightly as she watched Arin carry them effortlessly. 'How does he have that much physical strength?'
She, on the other hand, began moving her hands, activating a Wind Element Spell.
Within seconds, the remaining bodies on the ground began floating. Like that, she began walking, with the bodies floating in front of her.
Because the forest was just in front of her, she was confident that she would be able to hang on, and her Mana wouldn't deplete.
Outside the exit gate, there was a wide path in the middle with the trees on each side of the path.
Arin carried the bodies to the right side of the forest and walked inside further a bit, before dropping the bodies on the ground.
Fang also dropped the bodies on the same spot as she exhaled loudly, and held her waist.
"They were quite heavy," she said.
"Yes," Arin said. "This is the best place, because Beasts will devour them in no time."
Their weapons were lying on the ground inside the Village, so there was nothing else of value on them.
They were done here, so it was time to enter the Village back, but as soon as Fang turned, Arin quickly touched the bodies of the three Mages he killed last, and the body of the Leader.
Instantly, their bodies entered the Inventory. Fang was already walking out of the forest with her back turned against Arin, so she didn't notice anything at all.
Arin was now walking behind her like nothing happened.
'I've never been more happy for having this inventory,' Arin thought.
He could store anything inside the inventory as long as it wasn't a living thing. Well, they were dead, so they were no longer considered as living things.
Fang and Arin finally entered the Village back, and were greeted with the sight of almost all the villagers flocking around Tessa.
Immediately Arin got there and the villagers saw him, they instantly shifted their attention to him.
"You are the one who defeated those bandits, right? Thank you very much!"
"Great Mage! Thank you for saving us!"
"Honoured Mage! We are really grateful!"
The villagers kept praising Arin and talking to him at the same time. Though he really wasn't overwhelmed, he decided to act like he was.
He laughed nervously. "Ha, it's okay everyone. I'm just glad we are all okay."
Tessa couldn't help but smile, after all, she also received the same kind of treatment when the villagers first exited their homes.
Suddenly, a little girl hugged Arin's leg, making him look down.
She smiled sweetly before speaking, "Good sir. Thank you for helping my sister."
Arin noticed that even though the girl had black hair, she looked a lot like Fang.
'Her little sister, huh?' Arin thought as he stared at her and smiled.
He crouched, and looked at her. "It's okay. Your village won't be attacked by bad men again, okay?"
The girl nodded her head and ran towards Tessa, and also hugged her leg, catching Tessa off guard.
"Thank you too, good miss."
"~Wahhh!" Tessa was surprised and couldn't help but blush, but before she could say anything, the girl spoke again.
"I hope you and the good sir over there live a happy life together!"
"HUH?!"
A few minutes later, Arin and Tessa were now ready to enter the carriage. The villagers wanted them to eat with them, but they had to reach the Academy before nightfall, so they respectfully declined.
The man kicked the horse lightly, commanding it, and the carriage began moving, heading towards the entrance gate of the village where they originally entered the village from.
All the villagers, together with Fang, were gathered at the gate. They divided themselves in half, leaving a passageway in the middle where the carriage would pass through.
As soon as the carriage began passing, they all began waving their hands and cheering in unison. Arin and Tessa also continued waving their hands with a bright smile on their faces, until the carriage finally reached a point where they could no longer see the villagers.
Arin then relaxed in the carriage and folded his arms with one thought in mind...
'Mission successful...'
