I smiled and gave him the cash before Vanessa, and I ran out of there while laughter filled the store. I heard Gerald complain about not getting Vanessa's number and how I scammed him, but I didn't care.
"I cannot believe you called me Jessica; I am offended. I look nothing like Jessica, if anything, Lacey would've suited me better!" She huffed softly before I turned around and saw the owner of the store staring me down. I heard Crissane growl deeply in the back of my mind. Her anger and her defensiveness filled my body, and I knew we needed to keep going. This guy had bad vibes and I wasn't going to stay a second longer.
