Changing His Destiny

Kane was determined to not suffer in this life like he did in his past life, that was the first vow he made to himself after his uncle fully took him in in this new life.

In his past life, because his uncle could barely make ends meet, his uncle's wife ended up leaving him for someone else, abandoning her child with Norbit. Having two boys to bring up at the same time on a measly salary, Norbit could only afford a few things, so they all grew up dirt poor.

However, this time, Kane was determined to turn things around. He refused to grow up dirt poor until when his father would send for him at age eighteen.

Kane couldn't do anything the first year after he was born, but as soon as he was able to talk, he always made sure to display his smartness in the presence of rich people. Because he was reborn with all his past memories, he had decades of smartness and experience in his toddler brain, and he put it to good use.

Whenever he impresses rich people with his smartness and vast vocabulary, they are always quick to shower him with a lot of gifts and money. That made Norbit immensely happy, and he always endeavor to take Kane along with him whenever he was going anywhere.

Kane could easily spot rich people who had nothing to do with their money. Whenever Norbit leads him to them, he'd put his skills to great use, making sure to bat his eyes and appear super cute, and like magic, it always worked out every time.

In no time, Kane began to grow popular. Everyone referred to him as 'star baby', claiming he was born to be a star. The amount of riches Kane's influence brought into the family was enough to help Norbit move them into a nicer neighborhood, and into a spacious apartment. This time as Kane grew up, he was being fed good food instead of scraps like in his past life, which was all thanks to Kane.

In his past life, Kane hated his uncle because his uncle sometimes treated his own son, Mal, better than he treated him. But this time, because Kane was the one fetching money for the family, Norbit treated Kane like a god. He handles Kane like he was breakable, and treats him way better than he treats his own son this time.

In the past, Mal made life a living hell for Kane because according to him, Kane was leeching off his father. However, this time, Mal worships the ground Kane walks on in this life. Mal looks up to Kane and seeks out Kane before making any decision.

Kane likes how his life was playing out this time, he liked how everything was going his way, and that made him decide within himself that unlike in the past where he left his life in the hands of other people in every situation, this time, he'd always be in charge of his life and the direction it would go.

Kane was very smart at the age of five. In the gambling center in his neighborhood, he was the most popular, because no one ever won against him. Norbit had long resigned from his work since Kane was fetching more than enough money into the family. Even his wife who left him in the past, stuck to his side like glue in this life. She even treated Kane like he was her own son in this life, unlike how she showed him hell in the past before finally abandoning Norbit.

Every evening, Norbit takes him there and as expected, he'd end up raking a future in for Norbit. Norbit was a star in the neighborhood, all thanks to Kane. He doesn't tell anyone that Kane doesn't belong to him, he tells them Kane and Mal are twins, and no one ever bats an eye because now all twins are identical. Even Mal believes Kane was his twin.

Whenever Norbit goes to deposit their gambling win into the back, he'd ask Kane to tell him whatever he wants. Kane only tells him to put away a certain amount of money for him in a bank account which he'd get access to once he's of age. Kane is already planning for the future, so that by the time his father sends for him, he'd have access to his own money.

At a point, the gambling spot got shut down and that was when Norbit sat Kane down, asking him what they'd do next. Kane loved how Norbit doesn't treat him like a child, and instead treats him like an equal. Kane assured him he'd think of something, and a few weeks later, Kane came up with something else which began to bring money into the family once again.

Norbit claims Kane is heaven sent to his family, and Kane couldn't agree more.

In his past life, Kane and Mal were enrolled into a low class school, where they always overfill the classes. But in this life, Kane and Mal were enrolled into one of the best schools in the country.

Once in school, Kane was already quite popular because of his reputation for being a brainiac. He was so smart that he got into the prestigious school on scholarship after an academic competition, unlike Mal who got enrolled normally.

When Kane went to join the school's football team at age six, he was welcomed with open arms. He never lost his touch, so he became a star of the club in no time. The other members of the club loved him so much, there was no jealousy amongst the members like he knew there'd have been if the kids were grown ups.

They were still so young, so they didn't compete with other schools yet. But Kane was patient with just being able to play a sport which made him happy, while also living comfortably and happily. He was ready to patiently wait till when he'd get into high school, because that was when the real thrill would begin, because by then, he'd be able to compete along with his team, against the team of another school.

He couldn't wait for that time to come.
