This Pitch was a Two Paced pitch, unlike the other 2, it will help both spinners and Seamers with extra and low bounce.
So, it is relatively hard to score in this match, I guess the average/good first innings score should be around 270.
But, the pitch will only swing at the beginning of the match with the new ball, and won't offer any spin whatsoever.
But, it will offer low and high bounce at unexp cted times, it will offer slow and fast bowls.
You do not know when the bowl will hold on the pitch or when it'll come right at you.
That's why this kind of pitches have low scores. Because, this is not a 1 variable pitch and probably the hardest pitch among the 2 we have encountered so far.
If we don't win this, we'll have a problem.
This is how the points table currently goes.
Team B - 2 Mch, 2W, 0L, 6Pts, 2.890
Team A - 2 Mch, 1W, 1L, 3Pts, 0.700
Team C - 2 Mch, 1W, 1L, 3Pts, 0.609
Team D - 2 Mch, 0W, 2L, 0Pts, -3.773
So, if we lose this match that'd mean that it's the end of the road.
Since the very next match is the Final on the 22nd of August. Which will officially end on the 26th of August.
Which is also the date for the final of the Football Match.
Well, everyone's having theirbown battles and after such a fun environment of gaming we'll all go back to getting ourself into that awful battlefield.
I never realised this before but, now that I think about it, if I lose this match or even win it and go to the final.
Going back to that wretched tournament is really a pain in the ass.
I guess these tournaments are to make us realise just how hard and pressured those Battle tournaments of Elimination are.
This is kinda depressing honestly.
...
So, the match started with the opposition winning the toss and electing to Bat first.
Since it's a Two Paced track, it's entirely dependent on the bowlers luck.
And we were not lucky as the first day ended with the bowlers Getting smashed all around the park.
They ended up scoring 533 by the end of the first day but gladly they lost all their wickets in doing so.
Should I employ it? The tactics I've been holding back.
I'll definately use it in the next bowling innings.
And so we were called to bat...
And after the end of the 2nd day we ended up with a score of 320 runs with 4 wickets lost.
Sadly, I also ended up losing my wicket at 7 runs. This time I was caught in long off.
I tried to hit a full toss but didn't connect well which resulted in a catch out.
But, the team was running strong with the captain and Vice captain Scoring centuries each and The Opener scoring 50 odd runs.
But The Vice and The Opener lost their wickets with the captain in the crease alone with a bit of help.
We should get past the first session of day 3.
As expected we managed to score another 107 runs in the 1st session of day 3 and lost 3 wickets in the process.
The captain scored the bulk of the runs with a total of 48 of them came from him.
We lost all 10 wickets by the end of The 2nd session and managed to get 70 odd runs in the session.
Now our score was 483 runs all out. While we didn't get to the target we only trailed by 50 runs.
This time I was going to ask everyone to employ my fieldset. Well it's really not a fieldset I created but a fieldset created for orthodox test matches.
These Attacking Fields are put up precisely for these types of pitches.
These are afterall the most used types of pitches for Test matches.
And so after everyone was inside the Room I suggested the idea to everyone.
"Is it possible to change the field? For our bowling that is."
"What?" All of them shouted in unison.
"While we all appreciate your suggestions and are ready to employ them, isn't it too risky to change our fieldset."
Honestly there is no thinking when it comes to setting these fields, the only reason these fields are being set is because they think more about the Batter's making a mistake rather than a bowler making sure that a batter makes a mistake.
To do that we need an attacking field.
Plus, the only reason these players are scoring so well is because there are no slips and Gullies.
Who stand next to the keeper to catch edges that come out of the bat.
They didn't even think of such a possibility.
These people think that high balls are the only catchable balls there are.
But, they don't realise that whenever a batter edges a ball which happens like 30% of the time when these batters bat.
Those are opportunities.
"No wait let him explain."
Said the captain
"Yaa I wanna hear it too." VC replied.
"I would like to know aswell, he seems to have a lot of knowledge about orthodox old age Cricket. The old age Cricket might just help us in this situation."
"So? What is your plan."
The Captain looked at me and asked.
Wait, when did I become such a respected person in this Place that even my openion is being considered?
This is insane...
Alright... I took a deep breath and told them about my fieldset and how and where I want the bowlers to bowl.
...
"Will this work? Relentlessly positioning the ball at good length? As a seamer and fighting the ball just at the right length for a spinner. While targeting the stumps?"
"This... Sounds kinda simple. Especially the fields, who would have guessed we could use edges as catching opportunities."
These people really know nothing do they? No not exactly, they are well versed in the art of cricket but do not know the orthodox previous gen cricket.
This is going to be interesting. The crowd seems to be quite lively.
As I got out towards the Ground. I saw the big crowd that was currently present in the stadium.
How the hell, did these many people even come to know about the game.
The stadium was approx 30000 seats and almost all of it was filled.
That means atleast 30000 of them came to watch the match.
I gadda show a good exhibition to these folks who have come to watch the game.
...
"Ooh, Noelle when is that guy going to come out?"
"How the hell would I know. We came to watch Ron play but... What the hell is up with these people, why are there so many watching the sport. And most of them are Men."
"I know right, the fact that so many showed up to watch the match... Wait, this is because of us. They are here because of us."
"No Amber, they aren't here because of us. Looks at them, they aren't even paying attention to us. They are so immersed in the sport, i'm sorts surprised that until recently they didn't even know about this sport."
"Wait, that's not what I meant. I meant that our status has bought about this change. We were indulged in this sport so they probably wanted to come too."
"Aaahhhh?"
All the crowd members shouted in unison as if surprised overs something.
"I've never seen this before? What is this?"
"Haa? You know about cricket right? What is this?"
"I'm not sure, I've done my research but I've never seen this kind of a field set before."
"Why are they so close to the batsman? Won't they get hurt that way?"
[Ooh.. we are getting to see something interesting today, this is infact an unheard of Strategy but this was a basic strategic fieldset for old cricket.]
The commentar shouted with great excitement.
"We have gotten to see various Old age cricketing strategies from Team A but I never expected them to make such a gable."
"Hey, what is this. There are 3 people standing beside the wicket keeper."
There's a seamer coming and there were 3 People standing beside the Wicket keeper.
There was a person standing right before the batsman.
[Here comes the first ball...]
"Aah..."
[What a... What a catch By Ron Kayler, he stands near what was usually called the 3rd slip and catches a brilliant ball.]
[My god, I've been commentating the sport for a while but I didn't expect that even such catches were legal.]
[They obviously are, as long as you take the catch without a bounce it's out.]
[This sport really fascinates me.]
"Wow, that catch really had everybody worked up."
" I know right, it even gave me goosebumps."
"Man, this sport really is fascinating isn't it?" Said Noelle.
"It sure is." Replied Fey and Amber
At that moment they saw a weird Ron for the first time in their lives.
He was dancing around aggressively shouting after he threw the ball upwords.
He seemed really happy, this made the 3 of them chuckle as they've never seen this side of him.
