Winterfell
The trebuchet threw barrels towards the castle, imploding upon collision and lighting the walls and a great many men on fire.
Green flames... Wildfire.
Damon cursed Loren, and Jon never took his eyes off him. "You see that? He means for all of us to die, here." He said, moving his sword closer to his throat, the Valyrian steel still stinking of corpses.
Bran foresaw this, Damon chuckled and looked to his cousin as they launched more objects at Winterfell and this time hitting his men and those of Daenerys and Jon Snow.
After all that he's done for House Lannister, for Loren, and the actions he's shamed himself for doing on his behalf. He stood by and followed every dastardly order from the next and killed innocent people for a prosperous Realm.
A treacherous bastard, indeed. His cousin does intend for him to die... Well, to the Seven Hells with him, then.
"I will stand with you." He told Jon who gave him a stare, a warning before lowering his sword. "These defenses will fall, he no doubt has brought scorpions to shoot Daenerys dragons from the sky." Jon nodded but it proved little as Daenerys and her remaining Dothraki began to charge Loren's rear.
"We have to stop her!" Jon shouted and at Loren's right, he gave the signal for the scorpions to take aim.
Damon sighed and turned to face Jon, "We aren't winning this by shielding ourselves in Winterfell, the element of confusion is all we have left." A hint to what they have to do.
One last daring charge to the end that either awaits them, or awaits his snake of a cousin.
Gathering all their men, sending Bran further west with the wounded. Jon fought to make Arya stay on the cart.
"I'm not sitting this out and leaving you to die! I cannot, Jon!" He knows but she must, he and Arya embraced before departing from one another.
"Go to Last Hearth, and then go to White Harbor and find my wife and child then leave from here. Goodbye, sister." He said with a hint of finality that Bran could feel and see, shedding a tear for Jon and all who is going to lose today.
Damon and Jon rode to the front, not wasting time and simply ordering for a counterassault on Loren's army. Randyll Tarly watched and was confused, looking to Loren for his input but he was ordered to command this battle so that's what he will do.
"Formation! Forward!" The Lannister infantry with their shield wall moved down. "Lord Marbrand, Lord Harding, Go and deal with the Dothraki from fracturing our rear!" Hearing a roar, Lord Tarly watched the sky in search of the Dragon Queen and her winged monsters.
Daenerys would burn them all, she watched ad Lord Damon and his forces chose to aid them in defeating Loren.
She wondered how he got here with his army, realizing that Tyrion must have been defeated or had turned against her to allow his brother to betray them.
Either way, she would have her revenge, she would have justice and Loren at her feet like all the rest who tried to destroy her ambitions but this time she would do more than subjugate House Lannister... She would tear everything he has built and turn it to ash.
Aiming downward, she screamed out "Dracarys!" Her dragon's fire wasn't as lethal as it was during the battle against the dead and Night King, both Drogon and Rhaegal were exhausted, only able to break the Lannister infantrymen and allowing Jon and Damon to rush past and make a straight path to Loren.
Damon didn't relish fighting those he had known for years, cutting down two men bearing the Lannister sigil and driving a spear through a captain's chest but a volley of arrows rained onto them and caused his horse to buckle and fall.
On foot, he continued and watched Jon and his horse continue forward like some star flying through the night sky. Truly, a great warrior, and courageous to dive further into enemy lines to take his cousin's head.
Cutting down another soldier, he charged ahead, aiming to not be left behind.
Randyll watched Quenton Banefort's guards fail to push back the ram formation of Jon Snow and Damon Lannister. Hearing above, he told all of the scorpions to aim up and be ready to fire then when Daenerys dragons broke through the clouds and made their way on them he ordered for the scorpions to fire.
Daenerys cursed her folly, not much time to move to the side, and heard a scorpion bolt run through Drogon's left wing but then when she heard a horrifying screech and turned to see Rhaegal with seven bolts across its body and crashed into the fray of fighting soldiers.
Two of her dragons in such a short time, she was fraught with emotion and anger, and when she saw just how many scorpions the enemy had, she choked and turned around from striking and fighting further... This battle was lost, and she won't risk her last dragon.
Grey Worm and the Bloodrider in charge of her Khallasar saw their Queen abandon the field of battle so, instead of digging in and finishing the fight they retreated and made their way away from here and to White Harbor.
This decreased the momentum, disheartened the men fighting for the alliance but they still decided to fight to the bitter.
Today wasn't a battle to see a winner... It was a last stand for justice and honor.
Loren scoffed and unsheathed his nephew's blade, Widows Wail, and attempted to take control of the battle from here on out and encircle Jon Snow and his cousin but a horse neighed and a shadow came up from above and he felt a blade run across his chest and fall from his own steed.
Jon Snow cried out with rage and laid a blow on Loren Lannister, the duel beginning. "Now, you die here!" Loren glared with his one eye.
Scrambling to his feet, Jon laid three other blows on his own blad, the valyrian sword singing as the combat between House Lannister and Stark intensified and Damon defeated Randyll Tarly, taking the man's hand and slaying his son, Dickon.
"You cur!" Loren breathed heavily from the fall, feeling blood on his chest from Jon's attack.
"House Lannister ends with you! Loren, you're going to die!" Both men combated near two barrels of wildfire, Jon swung his sword and hit one of them and caused it to leak out near a bit of fire.
Both were launched into the air and fell heavily on the ground, the barrels exploding and causing some men to be lit on fire.
Jon and Loren were affected slightly, singed skin burned and Jon had soot on his cheek where wildfire hit him. Loren was writhing in pain in his leg, trying to get some of the fire off him but the damage was done. Jon picked up Longclaw, inching towards Loren and raising his sword up, and was about to end Loren before a spear was thrown through him.
Jon turned and only found another one driven through him, causing his knees to buckle and fall, his grip on Longclaw loosening. Damon hurried to finish what Jon was going to do, only to be hit in the back of the head and lose consciousness. Randyll Tarly was the one to land the blow to his head, he might have avenged his son if not for Loren.
"Stop!" Loren called out, his green eye foggy and his socket revealed because his eyepatch was lost in his fight. "He betrayed us, he will be made an example of when we get to King's Landing." Loren struggled but made his way over to Jon, who was still trying to pick up his sword.
He didn't get to as Loren grabbed it and placed the edge to the back of Jon, then stuck it through his heart and killed him.
The Realm is his, once and for all.
The victory of House Lannister's Lord, Loren Lannister cemented his complete and absolute authority to the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros.
Tommen Baratheon and Queen Shireen would not put their plan into action, abandoning thoughts of liberating the Kingdoms from the tight grips of Loren and his inner circle that pretended to be the King's Small Council who in turn feared Loren's influence and wrath.
Daenerys Targaryen would retreat with her forces to Dorne, ruling as Queen whilst planning her next invasion to retake the Iron Throne. Tyrion Lannister would work hard, making his Queen's dreams come true as her Hand and forming a new Council of advisors. She cannot have children, but, she would not leave the world without an heir.
Arya Stark and Bran Stark would disappear with Jon Snow's wife and later newborn daughter, escaping the bounties set upon them and several other Stark supporters that fled across the Narrow Sea.
Damon Lannister, made a pariah for his turn during the final battle was paraded around King's Landing then dismembered and his many parts were posted at the entrance of the Gate of the Gods, Lion Gate, Old Gate, Dragon Gate, and Mud Gate.
A half-year would pass and Loren would welcome his third child to the world, naming him Tyrex Lannister. Tommen's first and only son would be born as well, naming him Robert II and hoping that he may be the one to save the Realm from the ilk of Loren Lannister.
The Realm would settle in the years under Loren's one eye, villages and towns rebuilt and crops and currency brought wealth back to where it was before Robert's Rebellion. Loren governed sternly and celebrated the death of Olenna, his last rival disappearing from the path he walks.
Near twenty-five years, now, and Loren's wounds from the wildfire finally leaves him at the Stranger's feet.
Now comes the last days of Loren Lannister, House Lannister's Bloodiest Lord.
