Another Invitation

Stella continued to stare at the invitation card, her thoughts churning as she considered the potential event. She couldn't help but question what she would do there. Though Aaron had made a valid point about the potential benefits, her mind was set; she wasn't going to attend. In fact, she knew she wouldn't even open the invitation card.

Margret, with her usual flair for dramatic entrances, entered Stella's office without knocking, as usual. Stella looked up from her contemplation, a mix of surprise and annoyance on her face. "Ever heard of knocking?" she asked, rolling her eyes.

Margret smirked, unperturbed by the comment. "Oh please, it's not like you're in the middle of a passionate make-out session," she quipped, a wicked gleam in her eyes.

Stella cringed, feeling a wave of irritation at her friend's continuous teasing. The thought of romantic encounters seemed light years away.

"I don't even know if you'll ever have a romantic encounter."Margret giggled, taking her seat before her.

"Whatever," Stella replied, rolling her eyes. "What are you even doing here?"

Margret feigned hurt, saying, "Ouch? Can't I just come and visit my bestie?"

Stella feigned disbelief, acting as though she had choked on her own saliva. "Eh?" she asked, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

Margret feigned disbelief, putting a hand over her heart. "I'm hurt. You're supposed to be happy to see me."

Stella let out a deep sigh, growing weary of Margret's antics. "I would be if you didn't barge in unannounced every time," she replied, her tone dry.

Margret rolled her eyes, her usual dramatic flair apparent. "So, what's up? Did you finally get to meet Dunn Apollo?" she inquired, genuinely curious.

Stella shifted her gaze, her heart skipping a slight beat as memories of the office encounter came rushing back. A mix of feelings washed over her, and she struggled to maintain her composure.

What was happening to her?!

Stella's gaze shifted as Margret's question about Dunn Apollo brought back a flood of memories. She felt a mix of conflicting emotions stir within her, and her heart skipped a beat as she recalled the encounter in the office.

"D-Dunn Apollo?" Stella stuttered, pretending indifference. "I...met him, yes."

Margret's curiosity was piqued as she pressed for more details. "And...?"

Stella, trying to appear nonchalant, cleared her throat before stating, "We, uh, talked about business." A subtle blush crept across her cheeks, though she tried to hide it.

"Oh..." Margret said, her gaze fixed on the invitation card on the table. "Party..." she repeated, her eyes wide with excitement. "I love parties!" With a swift gesture, she picked up the invitation card, her eagerness apparent.

Margret tilted her head and asked, "Whose party is it?"

Stella's tone was sharp as she snapped back, "Why the hell do you need to know?"

Margret feigned hurt, pouting and stating, "Ouch? Can't you be a bit friendlier? You know how much I love parties."

Stella snatched the invitation away, her voice full of finality. "Too bad I'm not going anyway." Margret's frown deepened as she let out a defeated sigh.

Aaron invited me."Stella stated. "Who? A business patterner?"Margret asked. "Not necessarily."Stella stated. "A CEO of a company under the Dunn empire."she stated. "Oh my, like related to Dunn Apollo?"she asked. "Yes."Stella nodded. "Then we should go."Margret said. "You don't really know who Dunn Apollo is do you" Stella said. "Is he bad?"Margret asked. "I met him at a club before the meeting and he had the audacity to disrespect me!"

"What did he do exactly?"Margret inquired.

"Well," Stella began, "I accidentally," emphasizing 'accidentally,' "poured my whiskey on his white shirt, and he yelled at me!"

Margret, knowing her friend's personality, asked, "And I'm guessing you didn't apologize?"

Stella responded, "Shut up."

Margret then added, "But it's nothing. You can still go. After all, Aaron invited you, not Apollo."

Stella exclaimed, "You won't believe it! He tried to flirt and tease me in my own damn office!" Margret shook her head and said, "No one flirts with Stella Cruze, that's for sure."

"I know, right?!" Stella replied, feeling validated.

"But I'll advise you to go. If you agree to work with Aaron he'll be angry .So go and show him who he's messing with."Margret said.Stella smirked as she leaned into her chair. "Yeah.Thats a great idea."she smiled. "Come with me" Stella requested."I'll love to escort my mistress "Margret winked. The two stared at each other and suddenly burst out laughing, their joy filling the room.
