The Business Party<1

The Dunn mansion was transformed into a breathtaking spectacle as it hosted another extravagant party. Golden chandeliers hung from the ceiling, casting a warm and inviting light across the opulent rooms. Lush white curtains billowed gently, offering glimpses of the meticulously landscaped gardens beyond. Servants dressed in elegant attire moved through the crowd, offering champagne flutes filled with bubbling, golden liquid to guests. Soft music floated through the air, adding to the luxurious ambiance. The mansion was a vision of grandeur, its every corner brimming with elegance and refinement.

Apollo found himself drawn to the quieter upper levels of the mansion. Away from the noisy crowd and music, he climbed the grand staircase and wandered down a quieter, carpeted hallway. The sound of voices and laughter faded into background noise, replaced by the soft echo of his footsteps as he explored the upper floor of the mansion.

As Apollo turned the corner, he was unexpectedly met by the sight of Aurora, who was casually leaning against the wall. His gaze immediately traveled over her appearance, taking in every detail. Her white ruffled gown gently swished around her petite frame, her ballerina bun adding an air of elegance to her simple but sophisticated style. Her make-up was minimal, just enough to enhance her already lovely features, and the smile on her face was warm and friendly. Apollo paused for a moment, taking in the picturesque sight.

Aurora's voice called out to Apollo as he passed by. He paused and turned to face her, his expression stony.

"I was looking for you downstairs," Aurora explained. "What are you doing up here?"

Apollo's response was cold and dismissive. "Why the hell do you care?"

Aurora felt a pang of frustration. "Do you always have to be like this?"

At her words, Apollo's anger flared. "And do you always have to keep trying to make it up to me?!" he yelled. "You'll never be a mother to me!"

Aurora lowered her eyes, her expression subdued. "The business partners are looking for you," she said quietly, her voice laced with disappointment. Without another word, she turned and walked away, her white ruffled gown swishing gently with each step she took.

Apollo didn't bother to look back at Aurora as she walked away. He felt no pain or pity for her, convinced that she didn't deserve any. With a resolute expression, he turned and made his way down the stairs, his mind focused on something else entirely. Whatever happened between him and Aurora was behind him. He had a job to do, and that was his top priority.

The music played softly in the background as Apollo's gaze met Mr. Clad, a warm smile spreading across the older man's face. Stepping forward, they embraced briefly.

"I didn't know you came," Apollo said, genuine surprise in his voice.

Mr. Clad chuckled. "Oh, I just arrived. I was actually looking for you," he said, patting Apollo on the back affectionately.

Mr. Clad's voice was filled with genuine happiness as he spoke. "I'm so pleased we've joined forces. I just pray we don't run into Aaron," he said, letting out a small chuckle.

Apollo couldn't help but smirk in agreement. "Don't worry, Aaron will manage."

Mr. Clad nodded, a hint of concern in his eyes. "I hope so," he replied, their conversation briefly interrupted by a passing server offering them champagne.

Mr. Clad smiled and accepted a flute of champagne from the server, thanking him as he did so. He took a small sip before turning to Apollo.

"I think the party is quite successful, don't you?"

Apollo shook his head, declining the offered drink. "I'm good, thanks," he said.

The woman approached Mr. Clad with a confident stride, her long, white nails glimmering in the dim light. She leaned in to give him a greeting, but before she could say anything, she quickly placed a kiss on each of his cheeks. She then took a step back and finally spoke up. "Dad," she said, her voice filled with a mix of affection and familiarity.

Mr. Clad's face lit up when his daughter arrived. "Oh, hey sweetheart, I thought you wouldn't make it," he said, a mixture of surprise and happiness in his voice.

Blanche chuckled softly. "Change of plans, Dad," she replied, her voice sultry.

"My apologies," Mr. Clad said, turning to Apollo. "Apollo, meet Blanche Clad, my one and only daughter. Blanche, this is Apollo Dunn, my business partner."

Blanche gazed directly at Apollo, her eyes studying him with interest. She extended a hand, nails painted in a crisp white.

"Hi." She greeted him, her thick French accent adding an extra layer of allure to her voice.

Apollo shook her hand, his own hand engulfing hers.

"Pleasure to meet you," Apollo replied.
