Two Fallens.
One burly, wide and rough looking
The other tiny with blonde hair and a scrawny build —practically a child.
But I knew better than to underestimate the Supernatural.
"I do not know what Raynare and Kalawarner are doing, but I saw the devils going that way." The little girl smiled, "So they must have their hands busy."
"We need to get to them, Mittelt." The massive man said, his eyes hidden by his hat.
"We have to, but we also have to take care of them." She showed a sadistic smile. "I told her that it was better to just kill them."
This wasn't good.
"R-Reo, who are they?"
I didn't answer, instead I extended my arm to the side to signal him to stay back.
I have to fight them, don't I?
"So, let's kill them first and then go and help the other two."
The moment those words left the little girl's mouth, a pair of pitch black feathered wings sprouted from her back.
And following suit was the man next to her, who removed his hat to reveal a rather creepy face. And just like the girl, he sprouted his wings.
Instantly the area filled with magic, making my senses yell at me.
"Issei…" I took a deep breath, "I will explain everything to you after we get out of this mess. So, please, stay quietly at the corner."
"But—"
"Quiet."
My tone shifted. I didn't speak to him as a friend this time, but as his senior. And he instantly went quiet.
"Aww… He thinks that he can stop us, Dohnaseek~" The little girl mocked.
"Don't let your guard down, Mittelt." The man said, "I can sense magic on him."
And he should, after all, I was using magic.
"We will get rid of him quickly and then go help Raynare." The man's hand glowed with white light, forming a sort of small spear in his hand.
"Eh, I wanted to play with him a little."
"We do not have time." He extended it towards me, "I have no enmity with you, human boy. But know that this is necessary."
And with that, the spear made entirely of light shot towards me —swooping through the air at lightning speed.
And if not for the Magical Physique that I possessed —I would have been toast by now.
"Oh?" The man looked amused, "You dodged that."
Barely, but I did manage to drag my body to the side before the light spear could hit me.
"Won't be lucky the next time."
The man did not waste any time and summoned more light spears.
Yes, spears, multiple.
"Resisting will only make it more painful." Saying this, he shot the four spears that formed straight at me.
All of them flew straight at me, one after the other —even if I dodged one, the other would hit me.
So, I didn't dodge.
Instead, I finally used the magic I had.
Elemental Magic.
Slamming my foot hard on the ground, I jumped back. And instantly on the spot that I stomped, a massive section of the ground rose up —taking the hit of four spears of light and shielding me.
"R-Reo?" Issei whispered nervously from the back. "What was that?"
I am so glad that I had pre-saved some of these spells when I got the elemental magic.
"Magic?" The two Fallens appeared astonished. "A magic based Gear?"
The little girl had her eyes wide open, whereas the man gritted his teeth.
"No…" He hissed out. "It is something else. This is a magician's magic."
His previously disinterested voice turned disgusted.
"He is a filthy magician's disciple!" His anger boiled at seeing the magic, "Forget Raynare! We need to kill him!"
His personality shifted an entire one-eighty, and so did his magic.
"Yeah." And even the girl got serious. "You tried to play us, Magician."
I have to figure out this Magician thing. Why was everyone so on edge whenever a Magician was mentioned?
"I don't know what you might have done to Raynare and Kalawarner, but you will not leave from here alive." The girl extended her hand just like the man.
But while the man formed spears, she formed a sphere —a swirling one.
The sphere shone with white light, compressed to a smaller size. It spun violently in her palm.
"Reo!" Issei shouted, seeing the ball fly at an even higher speed.
No human can react to such speed and the earthen wall that I created might just crumble on me if I use it again.
No, I needed another magic.
One that could slow down the sphere and isolate it.
And I just had the magic for it.
Droplets of water gathered from the surrounding, adding up, and becoming larger and larger. And in the blink of an eye —the droplets became a massive orb formed entirely of water.
And in that instant, the sphere of light that shot towards me, hit the orb —and went inside it.
"W-What?" The Fallen girl looked astonished.
The orb spun violently inside the Water Prison, unable to break out of it. It kept spinning and spinning, before ultimately slowing down and dispersing in the water —causing the ball of water to collapse alongside the sphere, vanishing entirely.
In a way, this gave me confidence.
I wasn't weak.
Surely I lacked experience, but against two Fallen of low threat level who still weren't using their brains —I had the advantage.
And so far, they are changing the shape and sizes —but they have been using only one element.
Light.
Or something similar to light.
I can actually win this.
"Fuck it!" The little girl cursed, taking me by surprise. "This filthy little cunt thinks he can defeat us?"
Her voice and words changed extremely quickly, turning vulgar in the blink of an eye.
"We need Freed."
However, the girl yelled after hearing the name. "Fuck that little bitch. He ran off somewhere when we needed him." She raised her hands once again, "First we kill this cunt and then we find that crazy priest!"
This time around, the duo decided to attack together and I knew that I had to get rid of them with this attack.
If I drag this longer, they would only get more serious and vigilant.
"Kill him."
The girl yelled and immediately formed a swirling disk of light —a massive disk of light.
Whereas the man created the same spears again. However, this time, there were dozens of them.
Fuck this.
I have to go all out too.
"Stay far away, Issei." I made sure that the boy wasn't anywhere close to the radius of our magic. "This is going to get ugly."
A good offense was the best defense.
And so I went with the offensive magic I knew.
Deciding to cast two spells one after the other.
Just as the light magic neared me, I threw a massive orb of fire towards them. However, there was no way for that single fireball to stop all those spears and that disk, so I had to make the fire stronger.
A much stronger version of the one I used in class.
This gust was large and strong enough to engulf the fireball that I casted earlier and turn into a fiery wind of fire.
Combine them and register it as Blaze Wave.

Perfect.
"How?!" The girl roared, confused and furious at their light weapons vanishing in the wave of fire.
The two barely dodged the fire, otherwise their skin would have melted off.
However, I did not let go of this chance.
I used my most powerful offensive spell at the two disoriented Fallen, expecting them to suffer major injury.
I expected them to faint, to allow us to make an escape.
However,
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!"
However…
It resulted in a scene much more grotesque.
A scene that made my stomach turn.
"Gahhhhhhhh!"
The two were instantly struck by the bolt of lightning, the strongest spell I had that melted off the rod at the park.
And I greatly underestimated the spell.
"R-Reo?" Even Issei was scared.
And why wouldn't he be?
The two Fallen that were struck by the lightning had their skins melted off —burnt. Their flesh started to fall off their bones, eyes popped out, face unrecognizable and body disfigured.
They fell on the ground, slumped on the ground.
Groaning out for a second before going silent entirely.
I…
"You killed them!"
I felt my stomach churning, the stench of melted flesh going inside my nose and mouth.
And alongside that, my vision got blurry.
I didn't faint, but I felt weaker and my stomach gave out — throwing out everything that was inside it.
Making me puke at the scene and at the stench.
And on top of it all, a sense of dread loomed over me.
The realization of what had happened, had my heart beating quicker than ever.
I just… killed two people.

P.S. Reo might have obtained powers, might have joined the world of supernaturals and might have seen a lot. But he was a normal guy till just a few days ago.
And going from that to accidentally killing two human looking Fallens —anyone would be shaken.
But welp, gotta go through tough shit to build that strong character for later.
