Volume 1: Chapter 6 - Lunch, the Second Expression of the Cold Princess

The lunch bell rang, marking the end of the morning.

Leng Yolan walked with the crowd out of the classroom toward the dining hall.

In the crowded hallway, there was an unusual circular space centered around a girl, with a one-meter radius. Within this circle, no one dared to come close, while outside, the crowd was packed tightly. As the girl moved, the circle shifted with her.

People's eyes frequently glanced toward her—the white T-shirt, tight sky-blue jeans, the sleek black ponytail, and the stunningly beautiful face. The warm sunlight bathed her slender figure, making her appear as if she were a celestial being.

The gazes around her were mixed with complex emotions, including infatuation, intoxication, envy, admiration, surprise, self-abasement, jealousy, and resentment. However, the girl seemed completely unaware of the stir she had caused, her beautiful face showing only a hint of cold indifference.

Her indifference was not a deliberate façade but a clear reflection of her disinterest in external matters, or a disregard for things irrelevant to her.

Leng Yolan sat in her designated seat, quietly enjoying her lunch. The warm sunlight filtered through the half-open window, casting a perfect shadow of her long eyelashes on her exquisite face.

Even though this was a corner seat by the window, she could still feel the gazes from everyone around. She gently brushed her bangs and turned her head toward the window.

"Ugh!" A small sigh escaped her lips. She could have had lunch with Yi today, but he had other commitments.

'It's okay, Leng Yolan. You can see him tomorrow!' She tried to motivate herself, but there was still a hint of disappointment in her heart.

"Hey, did you hear? Someone saw our school's flower, Li Yu, with a super handsome guy just now."

"I didn't hear, but I saw it!" The proud look on her face was as if she had seen an alien.

Two girls at the next table began whispering about the latest campus gossip. Gossip is an everlasting topic among women (Hey, if you're not good at making friends, you might want to give it a try. Friendship might be waiting for you!).

"Is he really that handsome? Who is he? Why haven't we heard of him before?" One girl's eyes sparkled with curiosity and eagerness.

"He's a new transfer today, a fourth-year student. I think his name is Yi or something."

"Lei Tianyi."

"Yes, that's right, Lei Tianyi. Do you know him?" The two girls turned excitedly toward the speaker. When they saw it was Leng Yolan, known as "Princess Leng," and that she was visibly angry, they were stunned! Not just cold, but genuinely angry—Princess Leng was actually angry! This was explosive!

Uh-oh! Aren't they the ones who made her angry? Oh my God! Run!

"S-Sorry, we—our voices were too loud and disturbed you."

"P-Please forgive us—we'll leave immediately."

The two girls quickly fled the dining hall. If "Princess Leng" had shown a second expression, "anger," they would have wanted to take a photo as a memento.

In reality, their voices hadn't been loud, and normally, such conversations wouldn't have been heard from this distance. But Leng Yolan had undergone rigorous training and could hear anything within ten meters. She had been through such training.

At first, she hadn't paid much attention to their conversation. Although she had heard it, she had forgotten it the moment she heard it. Moreover, they had tried to speak softly; she couldn't be overly demanding of others due to her extraordinary hearing!

However, when she heard about Lei Tianyi, she couldn't ignore it. Her emotions, driven by her heart rather than reason, made her react with anger at the mention of his name. Yes, she was angry—angry at Yi!

The people in the dining hall watched the two girls flee in confusion, their gazes turning toward the corner by the window.

Leng Yolan was entirely absorbed in her own world, her heart aching so intensely that she could hardly breathe, feeling as if she was alone in the world. She was also angry, but what was she angry about? She suddenly didn't know why she was angry. Was it because Yi was seen with a school flower? Was it because Yi didn't skip his date with a beauty to have lunch with her? She thought about it and felt absurd—she had no right to interfere with anyone's life!

Leng Yolan took a deep breath, adjusted her complicated emotions, and quickly concealed them behind her cold exterior. She knew someone was approaching her.

In the dining hall, silence prevailed like a windless night lake, and all eyes were fixed on the tall figure.

"I want you to be mine," he said with a smirk, his gaze showing the excitement of a hunter pursuing prey.

"Okay, according to the rules of the game," she replied in a detached tone, showing no change in her demeanor.

Ignoring his heated gaze and the astonished gasps of the crowd, Leng Yolan calmly walked out of the dining hall. She needed to think things through calmly now.

"Hmph! Cold and indifferent woman, I want you to show me everything," his determined voice reverberated through everyone, but the intended target was missing.
