Chapter 10: Name of Garbage

Dear Diary,

I didn't sleep at all last night. Every time I close my eyes, I see Dad's face, the look of shock and betrayal. The police have been questioning me non-stop, but what can I tell them? That my best friend killed my father to change the future?

Mom is a wreck. She hasn't said a word since the police left. The house feels empty without Dad's presence. I keep expecting to hear his voice, to see him working in his study. But he's gone. And it's all my fault.

Axel's disappearance is all over the news. They think he's gone on the run, that he's some kind of criminal mastermind. If only they knew the truth.

I can't stay here. Every corner of this house is a reminder of what I've lost, of my failure. I need to find Axel, to stop him before he does something even worse. But I don't know where to start.

I've been going through Dad's research, trying to understand what Axel took. It's complicated, beyond anything I ever imagined. Parallel universes, alternate realities... it's like a science fiction nightmare come to life.

I found a clue in one of Dad's notebooks. A reference to a hidden lab, a place where he was working on something called "Project Tempus." If Axel knows about this, it might be his next target.

I managed to access Dad's hidden lab. It's incredible, like something out of a futuristic movie. Advanced technology, devices I've never seen before. Among them, I found a prototype time-travel device.

Dad never told me about this. He must have been worried about the implications, the dangers. Now, I have no choice but to use it. I need to find Axel, to fix the timeline before it's too late.

I've been practicing with the time-travel device, learning its intricacies. It's dangerous, unpredictable. One wrong move and I could end up in the wrong era, or worse, in a parallel universe where everything is different.

But I have to take the risk. Axel is out there, somewhere, planning who knows what. I have to stop him before he destroys everything.

I set the device for the last known coordinates where Axel could have gone. My heart is pounding as I activate it. There's a flash of light, a feeling of being torn apart and reassembled.

And then, I'm somewhere else. Somewhere... familiar.

I've landed in a future version of our town. It's both familiar and alien. The buildings are the same, but everything is more advanced. People are wearing strange clothes, and the technology is far beyond what I know.

I've been keeping a low profile, trying to gather information. There's no sign of Axel yet, but I can feel he's here. The air is charged with a sense of urgency, of impending change.

I found him. Axel has been living under a different name, blending into this future society. He's been using Dad's research to build something, a machine that can rewrite reality itself.

We had a confrontation. He tried to convince me that what he's doing is for the greater good, that he's trying to fix the world. But I saw the madness in his eyes, the obsession.

He escaped again, but now I know where he's headed. A facility on the outskirts of town, heavily guarded. I need to stop him, no matter the cost.

The facility is like a fortress. Breaking in was almost impossible, but I managed. Inside, I found Axel working on his machine. He was so absorbed in his work that he didn't notice me at first.

We fought. It was brutal, both of us using every trick we knew. In the end, I managed to destroy the machine, but not without a price. Axel escaped again, but this time, he left something behind. A journal, full of his plans and notes.

Reading it, I realized just how far gone he is. He truly believes he's the savior of humanity, that his actions are justified. But he's wrong. He's dangerous, and I have to stop him.
