TOTAL SURRENDER

I watched everyone troop into the hall as I tried to calm my fears.

It wasn't anything special or new because I somehow managed to become a paranoid mess every night of a full moon.

And it mostly had a lot to do with the fact that most packs had been invaded and wiped out on nights like this.

I took a deep breath and pushed the last thought aside as I straightened, then cleared my throat inaudibly. "Good evening, all," I began steadily, my eyes darting over them. "The silver globe shall soon hang above us all, but we have prepared for this night."

"Yes!"

"We have!"

They all replied, and I waited until their voices died down before continuing.

"I have great confidence in our defenses, and I believe we'll all meet here again tomorrow without any accidents."
