I watched her storm out of the room without feeling any sort of negative way about her reaction.

 

These people didn't love or want her, so it was reasonable that she would be a bit difficult.

 

The uncomfortable silence that ensued after her dramatic departure was nothing compared to the tension I'd walked into moments before, so I intently ignored it.

 

My brows drew down as I mulled over Vesper's condition, then glanced at Lana, who gave me a subtle nod before speaking. "We have our own priorities, but we can't ignore the suffering of others. So we'll help the Westwood pack in return for your help."

 

"We'll need to discuss the details of our agreement, but I need to talk to my Luna first."

 

Vesper's eyes fluttered, her face suddenly pale. "We don't have a lot of time. The Wolves of the Hills won't wait for us to prepare before another attack."
