Private Dinner

The private dinner had an air of formality far removed from the lively energy of a ball. Instead of dancing and standing buffets, the focus here was on the elaborate table settings and a multi-course meal served by staff.

Each guest was seated according to rank, and the atmosphere was more about maintaining decorum than indulging in lighthearted events.

When Maverick arrived, he was greeted by Louis, who waved him over with a bright smile. "Let me guide you to our table, Maverick," he said, leading the way. Maverick nodded and followed, taking in the grand but stiff arrangement of the event.

When they reached their table and sat down, Maverick couldn't help but ask, "Are we supposed to sit together, Louis?"

Louis winked at him, leaning in to whisper, "I had my mother arrange it. Last year's dinner party was so boring, I almost fell asleep listening to some old man drone beside me." He rolled his eyes dramatically, and Maverick smirked.
