Somber

It was a somber afternoon as a group of Nottingham guard officers, along with the six soldiers accompanying Julius, worked to clear the abandoned building.

Cavendish had been arrested and found guilty of heinous crimes—kidnapping, murder, and smuggling untaxed tobacco. Justice is served, however the gruesome aftermath of his actions lingered painfully.

The bodies of the victims, now laid out on the ground, painted a heart-wrenching scene. Gordon stood among them, the only local resident present per his request to His Royal Highness.

It was Gordon's plea that this horrific event be kept from the rest of Nottingham's residents to avoid further distress.

Yet, as he scanned the faces of the deceased, Gordon felt a deep, searing pain. He recognized almost all of them—neighbors, acquaintances, people who had once walked the very streets of the town.
