Julius tucked the blanket over Maverick, ensuring he was comfortable as he drifted into a deep sleep after their long conversation.

For a moment, Julius lingered at his bedside, his gaze softening as he watched the steady rise and fall of Maverick's chest. Before leaving, he leaned in and planted a gentle kiss on Maverick's cheek.

As he pulled back, something caught his eye—a faint but unmistakable bruise on the side of Maverick's neck.

Julius's brow furrowed, his expression darkening. The bruise, though faded, was still visible, and its presence filled him with unease.

Straightening, Julius turned on his heel and made his way to the door. He opened it and stepped out, closing it soundlessly behind him.

The trio—Gordon, Wolfgang, and Russell—were still in the guard office, though Wolfgang and Russell were no longer kneeling.
