He looked back at me before raising his head as a serine smile grew on his face.
"...really?"
Although his tone didn't match his face, for it was laced with more confusion out of anything. I simply scooted a little away from him before scanning the cafe for a few seconds, then my gaze returned to Shinso.
"Yes, I've told you this already...I'm unaware if this is going to be something I'll have to recall on multiple times."
Shinso's expression didn't seem to falter even after I said such a thing, in fact, he only smiled and patted me on the back.
"Thank you."
After sitting in silence for a few moments, our attention was immediately grabbed towards the barista who idly stood over the counter holding our ordered meals. I nodded and said a "thank you," Shinso did the same.
I watched Shinso drink his milkshake for a few moments before I looked down at my apple pie and steaming glass of hot chocolate, which already started to fog my glasses up. I pulled them off my face before wiping them with the tail end of my shirt, before putting them back onto my face, pressing them against the nose to make sure that they wouldn't fall off and make a mess.
"I suppose the food is good?"
I asked Hitoshi, while taking a bite of my apple pie, feeling the warm filling melt onto my tongue, causing me to make a little noise of satisfaction. Hitoshi took a while to respond, maybe he's still thinking about what he said earlier, maybe he killed the mood or something.
"Yeah, it's good."
He replied, his tone having gone back to its normal, apathetic state. He sipped his milkshake loudly, while scrolling through his phone. My eyes watched the screen, the images and videos being swiped upwards with the continuous stroke of a thumb.
"What'cha watching?"
I perked up, leaning in a little closer, causing Hitoshi to blush and retract his screen from my view.
"N-nothing..."
He spat out, I saw him press the button on the side of the phone used to turn it off, I also knew this because the dim light reflecting on his chest dimmed shortly after.
"Was it something you'd not want me seeing, like...porn?"
I asked, a small yet cheeky smile growing on my face, Hitoshi just scoffed.
"Me, porn, In a public place like this, in front of you?"
He let out an embarrassed chuckle, as he turned his phone back on and turned the screen back to me.
"Cat videos?"
I chuckled quietly as I watched the cat run across the screen, chasing a ball of yarn, in a pretty innocent way.
"Never knew you liked cats, Hitoshi."
I don't know why I said that, we've only known each other for a good 2 hours, and such information would only leak out when we're alone or something of the sort.
"I-I do...you don't mind, right?"
He asked me, the blush on his face was still there, I can't tell if he's more embarrassed than curious at this point, I just narrowed my eyes in a playful way, silently telling him that I didn't mind.
Having seen this message, he gave me a small yet genuine smile.
"I'm glad to have met you...you're like the only person to actually treat me with some respect."
I nodded, taking a sip of my scolding hot chocolate, but I was immediately greeted with the unpleasant feeling of it burning my mouth. In a sudden movement, I spat it out of my mouth, and it landed on Hitoshi's shirt.
"Shit!"
