The sun began to peek through the curtains as I wearily opened by eyes, letting out a loud yawn as I leaned up from the beanbag, stretching my arms into the air. I opened my phone which was sitting on the table under the TV, the clock read 7:48 AM, and if it were a school day, I would've been in school about 20 minutes ago for my classes.
"Good, at least it's a Sunday."
I thought to myself, before leaning back once again, still holding my phone. I opened it back up and checked my usual notifications, texts from my family and the usual stuff, but the tiny vibration coming from my phone told me I had a message from an unknown number. My browa furrowed with concern and curiousity as I opened the message, it read "Good morning", I see you're up early." enclosed inside the green spech bubble shape on the left hand side of the screen.
It didn't take me a while to realize it was Shinso who was texting me, I peeked above my phone and saw that he was under the covers, probably texting me in real time.
"Good morning to you too."
I couldn't help but send back, a small smile tugging the corners of my mouth as I pressed the send button, and it didn't take too long for another message to pop up on the phone screen.
"Plans for today?"
I rubbed my eyes again as I replied once more, typing quickly as I sent another message over.
"I don't have any, you?"
After a good minute I got another text back, a few words were mispelled so I suppose he was typing quickly, eager to get the message over to me.
"Well, mayybe yoday we could go to the park or someting?"
"Sounds good."
I replied, sending a thumbs up emoji, attempting to lift the sleepy and quiet atmosphere, only the sound of the air conditionar could be heard besides the sounds of digital typing and notifications.
Shinso rose from the blanket, pushing it off his body before stretching in bed, it didn't take me a while to figure out he was almost entirely naked.
"Put some clothes on...please."
I excalaimed, quickly putting my hand over my eyes, even if seeing him naked wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. He simply shrugged, putting on a pair of underwear, some jeans, a black T-shirt and a blue jean jacket, popping up the collar.
"I'll be in the bathroom."
I heard him mumble at me, removing my hand from my eyes and seeing the breif intervel of the door shutting, followed by the sound of running water, and brushing teeth. Eventually he stepped out of the bathroom, applying some deodarent under his armpits and spraying a tiny bit of colonge that sat on his nightstand, whatever fragrence that was quickly filled the air, which made me invultratarliy wave my hand infront of my face, attempting to discern the aroma.
"I guess someone doesn't like strong scents, heh."
Shinso chuckled, approching me before reaching his hand out, which I quickly took as he pulled me up from my seat, I did all the stuff he did, such as brushing my teeth and changing into a new pair of clothes from the suitcase I packed from my dorm.
Eventually we found ourselves walking out of the dorm building, down the street with clouds hanging above our heads, and a few raindrops plummeting down from the sky, which we were shielded from because Shinso had the intuition to pack an umbrella.
"So...Isaac, tell me more aboiut yourself."
Shinso piped up, attempting to break the silence. I turned my head towards him while nodding slowly, lookiong back down at the concreate sidewalk.
"Well, I like spiders...uhm...sweet foods...damn it."
"Damn it?"
Shinso asked, wondering why I said the last part outloud, and not in my head.
"S-sorry."
Instead of saying something like "Its okay", or "I feel you", he just laughed before responding.
"Well, whatever...I suck with small talk too."
He claimed, nudging me on the shoulder before he continued down the street, the umbrella protecting us from the rain.
"So, about that book you gave me last night, I found it quite interesting."
Shinso continued to look ahead.
"I could tell, I had to tell you to close it and get some sleep."
He snarkily commented, nudging me again, at this point my shoulder might be bruised.
"Don't get me started about my little philosophical journey I experienced at like 2 AM, I was out here questioning my existence."
I chuckled, Shinso returned the same.
"I knew you'd like that book, I just gave it to you because I needed somethig to keep you distracted, and that you seemed to like reading."
"Oh..."
That revelation hit me like a truck, regardless on if its the smallest one ever, he seems to have a good intuition.
"Hey, lets get a bite to eat, you're paying half this time."
I nodded slowly as we turned the corner and headed into the nearet cafe, which was a few blocks down from Hambridge street and Gungmeons Coffee, but I guess this place was more expensive and higher quality if he's making me pay half, or maybe that was just a one time favor.
He opened the door and stepped aside to let me get in, the familier sound of the bell ringing echoed in my mind. This cafe looked a little less homey and more industrial by the looks of it, the black and white tiled floor and the deafening sound of the coffee maker grinding beans in the kitchen, but the all familier smell of pastries filled the air like usual.
Me and Shinso stepped up to the counter before he placed our orders, giving himself a black coffee with extra sugar, while me a simple regulsr coffee with extra sugar.
"I've suprisingly never had coffee before."
I sparked as we approached a booth in the corner of the store, sitting down on the soft benches facing the window, watching the rain gently fall. Calm music played inside the coffee place from an old speaker, making a strange rush of nostaliga rush through my body, like I'm familier with turning it on and listening to tunes by the fire, which was ironicly lit beside the speaker.
Shinso turned his head towards me and smiled softy.
"Well, I hope you enjoy, you got cash on you?"
I quickly checked my pockets, feeling every one inside and out like I was looking for the remote for a bomb counting down, put my gut sank when I didn't feel any.
