In New York City, Kyle Thompson experiences a normal day with his family until the sky splits, releasing God's essence and imbuing some people with powers. Amidst the chaos, Kyle protects his wife, Sarah, and daughter, Emily, as the world spirals into madness.



Simultaneously, in a hidden Vatican City lab, Dr. Alaric Forge and Lucifer use the God Killer machine to assassinate God, seizing divine power. Forge betrays Lucifer and slaughters many angels, securing control over Heaven and Earth.



Kyle and his family barricade themselves at home, surviving the initial chaos. Dr. Forge, now immensely powerful, invades their sanctuary, offering Kyle a place at his side. Kyle refuses and engages Forge in a brutal battle, tapping into his Stygian Method powers. During the fight, Sarah and Emily are killed, leaving Kyle devastated.
