Chapter 40: Enter the Dragonite

(Last time, Mew and her friends arrived at Pummelo Stadium.)

(so Mew could challenge the reigning Orange League Champion and battle for the coveted winner's trophy.)

(Though Drake, the undefeated Orange League trainer proved to be a powerful opponent.)

(Mew managed to win the first two battles in the 6-on-6 match.)

(but when Gengar launched a Night Shade attack and Lapras quickly countered with an Ice Beam, the results were explosive!)

(Now the anxious spectators are waiting to discover which Pokémon has triumphed!)

(The stadium waits anxiously to see which Pokemon survive the blast.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "The smoke still hasn't cleared from those two tremendous attacks, but in a moment, we'll see who the winner is!"

(Soon, the smoke clears to reveal that both Lapras and Gengar are knocked out.)

(Seeing the result, the Referee says.)

the Referee: "Lapras, Gengar, both are unable to battle!"

(The announcer also says.)

The announcer: "What a shocker! Both Pokémon are out of this competition!"

(Mew calls back Lapras.)

Mew: "Lapras, return!"

(Lapras returns to the Pokeball.)

(Mew looks at Lapras' Pokeball.)

Mew: "Lapras, you did great."

(Drake calls back Gengar.)

Drake: "Gengar, return."

(Gengar returns to the Pokeball.)

Drake: "Good work. You've earned a good rest,"

(Drake says.)

(Then the announcer says.)

the announcer: "Well, Mew may not have won that round, but this is the first time a challenger has knocked out three of the champion's Pokémon in a row!"

The referee: "There will be a timeout for the field change!"

(The referee adds.)

(Then the announcer says.)

the announcer: "In the winner's trophy competition, whenever three of either trainer's Pokémon are defeated, the field is changed. Now, both these trainers will have to adapt and come up with brand new battle strategies."

(Mew sits down on the bench in her corner with Misty and the others.)

(Mew is also tired from the battle.)

(Eevee gives Mew a water bottle.)

(Mew takes it and pats Eevee on her head.)

(Meanwhile, Drake eyes his necklace and the Pokéball on the end of it.)

Drake: "You're the only strategy I need to win,"

(Drake says, and looks at the Dragonite statue.)

(As Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee stretch their legs, Team Rocket is watching them in the bleachers.)

(Seeing them, James says.)

James: "The twerp's doing pretty well for himself."

Jessie: "She's not so great,"

(Jessie says.)

James: "Well, if she's not so great, then how come we never manage to beat her?"

(James questions.)

(Jessie loses her patience.)

Jessie: "I've had enough of you two! You insult us while Meowth's giving himself a manicure!"

(Meowth laughs and says.)

Meowth: "For James, it'd be a manicure, but for me, it's a Meowth-icure."

James: "Well, great or not, that kid will never beat Dragonite,"

(James says, and lets out a chuckle.)

Meowth: "Luckily, we don't need her to beat Dragonite, we just need her to battle it for a while and tire it out for us,"

(Meowth says, still giving himself a manicure.)

James: "Yeah, and then, while its defenses are down, we can capture it, and bring it back to the boss!"

(James says.)

Meowth: "And that'll make us the real winners,"

(Meowth says.)

(Team Rocket chuckles in reply.)

(Sometime later, Mew's Orange League Championship battle against Drake continues.)

(as the battleground changes for the next set of battles.)

The announcer: "It looks like the trainers are set for action!"

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "The new field is moving into place, and the trainers are set for action! This time, the opponents will be dueling on a sandy, desert-like battleground."

(Both trainers approach and the bell rings.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "There's the bell to start the second half of this full six on six winner's trophy battle! Drake, the undefeated Orange League champion, has just three Pokémon left!

(Drake calls out.)

Drake: "I choose you, Venusaur!"

(Venusaur then comes out of his Pokeball.)

The announcer: "Drake has picked Venusaur, whose won many a battle here in the past,"

(The announcer says.)

Mew: "Venusaur's too strong for Bulbasaur, and Lapras needs a good rest,"

(Mew says.)

(Then she has an idea.)

Mew: "Maybe risky, but I know she can handle it."

(Then turns her head and looks down.)

Mew: "I choose you, Eevee!"

Eevee: "Eevee!" (You got it!)

(Eevee says, and runs into the battlefield.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "And it appears Mew has choses Eevee to battle a large Pokemon like Venusaur. It may look small, but that Eevee looks a little tough."

(Drake says to himself.)

Drake: "I have to agree. That Eevee looks tough for a small Pokemon."

Mew: "Alright Eevee, time to start with a Quick Attack!"

(Mew calls out.)

(Eevee begins to run towards the Venusaur, but Eevee is struggling to run on the sand.)

(Mew begins to notice.)

The announcer: "And Eevee starts off with a Quick Attack, but the sand is making it difficult for it to gain speed."

(Then Drake calls out.)

Drake: "Venusaur, Solar Beam, now!"

(Venusaur charges for a Solar Beam.)

(Tracey calls out.)

Tracey: "Hey, Mew! Maybe you can stop it while it's still absorbing energy!"

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Eevee, Take Down attack!"

(And with that, Eevee charges towards Venusaur.)

The announcer: "Now the whole stadium's shaking as Eevee speeds straight for Venusaur!"

(The announcer says.)

(And with that, Eevee hit Venusaur clearly, but the sand is not making it easy.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "Eevee's feet won't hold as the sand's got it stuck in its tracks!

(Drake calls out.)

Drake: "Solar Beam, now!"

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Eevee, send Venusaur soaring using Double Edge, now!"

(Using all her strength and using her attack and is able to send Venusaur flying in the air.)

(Only for the Solar Beam to fire as Venusaur goes up.)

(Eevee sees this quickly moves out of the way.)

Mew: "Eevee, please be okay!"

(Mew calls out.)

(The dust clears and Eevee is okay.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "Eevee is up! It looks like that Solar Beam actually got Eevee unstuck from the sand!"

Mew: "Yeah! Alright!"

(Mew cheers.)

(But Drake says.)

Drake: "This isn't over, yet."

(Venusaur launches a Vine Whip at Eevee, Eevee uses her speed to get through it.)

(until it strikes at Eevee, knocking her down.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Eevee! You gotta try to get up!"

(Eevee manages to get up.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Now, use Take Down attack!"

(Eevee charges as Venusaur's Vine Whip closes in.)

The announcer: "Eevee tears right through Venusaur's Vine Whip!"

(The announcer says.)

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Now jump!"

(Eevee then jumps up in the air.)

The announcer: "And Eevee jumps up,"

(The announcer says.)

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Now, use Last Resort!"

(Eevee performs to the Last Resort, and strikes at Venusaur with full force and sends it flying.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "The Last Resort Attack hits home and Venusaur goes flying!"

(Venusaur lands, beaten, and out of the match.)

(the Referee says.)

the Referee: "Venusaur is unable to battle!"

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "You heard it, fans! The challenger has now defeated four of the champion's six Pokémon!"

(Drake calls Venusaur back.)

Drake: "You put up a fine battle, Venusaur."

(Then throws his Pokeball.)

Drake: "Now I choose, Electabuzz!"

(Electabuzz comes out of the Pokeball.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "The atmosphere here is charged as Electabuzz, Drake's fifth Pokémon, prepares to take on Eevee! The question is, will Mew stick with the beefy battler or is Eevee too tuckered to unplug Electabuzz?"

(Tracey notices Eevee's exhaustion.)

Tracey: "It looks like Eevee is pretty worn out."

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Eevee, time for a good rest! Return now!"

(Hearing Mew, Eevee runs back to Mew and rubs Eevee's head as the announcer says.)

the announcer: "The challenger is changing Pokémon."

(Mew then calls out.)

Mew: "I choose you, Bulbasaur!"

(And with that, Bulbasaur comes out of the Pokeball.)

Mew: "Alright Bulbasaur, you ready?"

(Mew asks.)

Bulbasaur: "Bulbasaur!" (Ready!)

(Bulbasaur says.)

(Tracey says.)

Tracey: "Don't forget Mew, you have to take level into account, too, not just type."

Mew: "I will!"

(Mew says.)

(Just then, Drake calls out.)

Drake: "Use Thunder Shock, now!

(Electabuss performs Thunder Shock at Bulbasaur, but Bulbasaur shakes it off.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "Bulbasaur shakes off the shock! Mew's strategy is working perfectly!"

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Razor Leaf, now!"

(Bulbasaur performs Razor Leaf, and the attack lands on Electabuzz.)

(Drake calls out.)

Drake: "Thunderbolt attack!"

(Then Electabuzz uses Thunderbolt.)

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Tackle attack!"

(Bulbasaur charges.)

(Then Drake calls out.)

Drake: "Electabuzz, Thunder Punch!"

(Bulbasaur performs Tackle and lands at Electabuzz as Electabuzz charges up a Thunder Punch.)

(Mew cries out.)

Mew: "Bulbasaur, watch out!"

(But Electabuzz performs Thunder Punch, and lets Bulbasaur have it.)

(That sends Bulbasaur reeling and is knocked out.)

(The referee says.)

The referee: "Bulbasaur is unable to battle!"

(Bulbasaur is knocked down.)

The announcer: "Electabuzz short-circuits the Bulb! This high level electric type's defeat of a grass type has this crowd buzzing!"

(The announcer says.)

(Seeing that, Mew has four Pokemon, while Drake still has two left.)

(Mew calls Bulbasaur back.)

Mew: "Bulbasaur, return!"

(And returns to the Pokeball.)

Mew: "Good job, Bulbasaur,"

(Mew says.)

The announcer: "Now, the heat is on for challenger Mew,"

(The announcer says.)

(Mew brings out her other Pokeball.)

Mew: "Things are sure to get heated up."

(Then throws her Pokeball.)

Mew: "I choose you!"

(Then Charizard comes out of the Pokeball.)

The announcer: "A wise move as Mew chooses Charizard, the only fully evolved Pokémon in this plucky youngster's arsenal!"

(The announcer says.)

(Mew says in thought.)

Mew [in mind]: "I just hope Charizard's at a high enough level to beat Electabuzz,"

(Then calls out.)

Mew: "Flamethrower!"

(Charizard charges.)

(Drake says.)

Drake: "Electabuzz, go!"

(Charizard uses Flamethrower, but Electabuzz leaps into the air.)

(Then Drake calls out.)

Drake: "Thunder Punch, now!"

(Electabuzz comes down with a shocking Thunder Punch from above.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "Electabuzz connects first with a devastating Thunder Punch! Charizard is cooling off quick as the champion grabs the early advantage!"

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Hang in there, Charizard!"

(Then Drake says.)

Drake: "Thunder attack, now!"

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "Mew better come up with something fast or I hope she likes his Charizard extra crispy!

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Charizard, Ember attack!"

(Charizard uses Ember and breaks the attack.)

The announcer: "A scorching response from Charizard who grounds Electabuzz with a searing counterattack!"

(The announcer says.)

(Drake says in thought.)

Drake [in mind]: "This one's level is higher than I thought."

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Now, Charizard, Fly!"

(Then Charizard takes to the sky.)

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Use Seismic Toss!"

(Then Drake calls out.)

Drake: "Quick! Thunderbolt attack!"

(Charizard then grabs Electabuzz before it can attack and flies up above the stadium.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "Charizard stops the Thunderbolt attack before it gets started! Now Charizard's got Electabuzz in a clinch, winding up for a super Seismic Toss!"

(Charizard spins Electabuzz round and round in a loop-de-loop and drops it down hard.)

(Straight into the ground.)

(When the dust clears, Electabuzz is out cold.)

(as Charizard lands and breathes a flame of victory.)

(The referee announcers.)

The referee: "Electabuzz is unable to battle!"

(Mew and her friends smile as the crowd roars.)

The announcer: "A shocking turnaround as Charizard combines offensive and defensive skills to toss Drake's Electabuzz right out of this match!"

(The announcer says.)

(Drake calls back Electabuzz.)

Drake: "Good work, Electabuzz."

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "Now, challenger Mew is only one victory away from that winner's trophy! But as we've seen him do before, Drake has saved the best for last!"

(Drake then takes the Pokeball off the necklace.)

(and Mew and her friends know exactly who the last Pokemon Drake is going to use.)

(Mew says.)

Mew: "Get ready."

(The gang and Team Rocket watch and wait with anticipation to see the final Pokemon to come forth.)

(Drake brings out his Pokeball and says.)

Drake: "My last hope. I choose you!"

(And throws his Pokeball into the air.)

(And out of the Pokeball… it's none other than Dragonite.)

Mew: "I was afraid of this,"

(Mew says.)

(Then the announcer says.)

the announcer: "Drake's last Pokémon, the legendary Dragonite! If Dragonite goes down, this battle is over!"

(Drake says in thought.)

Drake [in mind]: "You may be my last hope now, Dragonite, but with you, this battle's just beginning."

(Dragonite gets its gameface on, surprisingly the group from the sidelines.)

Tracey: "Dragonite gonna be the toughest one yet!"

(Tracey says.)

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Let's bring it to em, Charizard! Flamethrower!"

(Charizard performs Flamethrower.)

(Then Drake calls out.)

Drake: "Dragonite, Water Gun!"

(Dragonite launches Water Gun, canceling out and splitting the Flamethrower.)

(Then strikes at Charizard.)

The announcer: "Dragonite not only dowses Charizard's attack, but it may dampening Mew's hopes for the winner's trophy!"

(The announcer says.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Quick, Charizard! Time to Fly!"

(Drake calls out.)

Drake: "Dragonite, use Ice Beam!"

(Dragonite fires the Ice Beam, but Charizard dodges the attack in the sky.)

The announcer: "Charizard dodges Dragonite's Ice Beam with an impressive show of air force!"

(The announcer says.)

(Then Drake says to Dragonite.)

Drake: "After it, Dragonite!"

(Dragonite swiftly takes to the sky. Everyone is shocked.)

Tracey: "Look at it go!"

(Tracey says.)

Misty: "Dragonite moves like a jet!"

(Misty exclaims.)

Tomo: "Talk about fast,"

(Tomo says.)

Jen: "And it's catching up to Charizard,"

(Jen adds.)

(Soon enough, Dragonite flies near Charizard and flies a close range Ice Beam.)

(but Charizard dodges the attack and retaliates with Flamethrower.)

(Dragonite dodges and fires the Ice Beam, causing Charizard to dive into a downward corkscrew.)

The announcer: "Charizard's gone into a dizzying dive to avoid Dragonite's relentless attack!"

(The announcer says.)

(Dragonite flies down after Charizard.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Charizard, look out!"

(Charizard sports Dragonite and charges towards it.)

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Okay, now give it your best Seismic Toss!"

(Charizard closes in on Dragonite.)

The announcer. "Charizard's moving in on Dragonite!"

(The announcer says.)

(Charizard tries to perform the attack, but Dragonite counters and grabs Charizard by the neck.)

(Then Drake says.)

Drake: "Dragonite, use your Slam attack, now!"

(Dragonite then flies downward swiftly and slams Charizard down hard to the ground.)

The announcer: "And Dragonite delivers a ground shaking Grand Slam!"

(The announcer says.)

(Mew cries out.)

Mew: "Charizard, no!"

(The rest of the group are in shock, but Charizard gets back up.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "Fans, this is incredible! Charizard is back on its feet, despite the fact that it's been on the receiving end of Dragonite's damaging attacks, this Pokemon simply refuses to give up!"

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "We gotta do something to end this, fast! Finish it off with Dragon Rage!"

(Charizard hears Mew, and his tail flame grows larger as he charges for an attack as he lets out a roar.)

(Then Drake says.)

Drake: "Fight fire with fire, Dragonite!"

(Dragonite charges for the same attack.)

(Both Pokemon fire, resulting in a fiery explosion that sends both Pokemon flying back.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "Both Dragon Rage attacks hit home and both Pokémon appear to be shaken! This match could be over at any moment!"

(Both Pokemon express their exhaustion, but sadly, Charizard is the one who falls.)

(The referee announces.)

The referee: "Charizard is unable to battle!"

The announcer: "Charizard is down and out! That Dragon Rage drained both Pokemon but Dragonite manages to hold on!"

(The announcer says.)

(Team Rocket also sees it as well.)

(James says.)

James: "Alright! Dragonite looks like it's draggin! Let's go capture it!"

(Jessie grabs James' arm.)

Jessie: "Sit down!"

Meowth: "Yeah. I'm enjoying this,"

(Meowth says.)

(Mew calls back Charizard.)

Mew: "Return, Charizard!"

(Then Mew returns him to the Pokeball.)

(With Charizard down, Mew only has three Pokemon left.)

Mew: "Thank you, Charizard. You did your job! You wore it down just like I wanted you to! We're all gonna have to work as a team to win this one, aren't we?"

(Mew says.)

(Then throws her Pokeball.)

Mew: "Now, I choose you!"

(And Squirtle comes out of the Pokeball.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Hydro Pump attack!"

(Squirtle ducks into his shell, spins around, and fires Hydro Pump.)

(Then Drake calls out.)

Drake: "Dragonite, use your Water Gun attack!"

(Dragonite fires the attack, and lands at Squirtle, cursing him to stop the attack and is sent flying, and spinning.)

The announcer: "Dragonite tags Squirtle with a bullseye blast! Maybe Squirtle's earlier encounter with Onix weakened the water Pokémon."

(The announcer says.)

(Then Drake calls out.)

Drake: "Use your Thunderbolt, now!"

(Dragonite performs the attack with its antennas as Squirtle ducks into his shell.)

The announcer: "This could be sayonara for Squirtle as Dragonite's electric attack sets its shell sizzling!"

(The announcer says.)

Mew: "Squirtle!"

(Mew says, worried.)

(Squirtle then emerges from the shell, stands, but is very weakened.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "Squirtle's still game and, folks, this is one tough turtle type!"

Mew: "Okay, way to go, Squirtle!"

(Mew cheers.)

(Then says.)

Mew: "Show em you can take what they dish out!"

Drake: "Your Squirtle's very gutsy, but guts won't win this battle!"

(Drake says.)

(Then calls out.)

Drake: "Go, Dragonite! Finish Squirtle off with a Body Slam, now!"

(Dragonite then takes flight.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Squirtle, Bubble attack, now!"

(Squirtle launches a Bubble Beam at Dragonite as it comes down.)

(causing it to fall from the sky, but lands on the front end of.)

(its feel and smacks Squirtle with its tail, sending it flying.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Squirtle, hang on!"

The announcer: "Once again, Dragonite proves what a brawny battler it is. Despite Squirtle's Bubble attack, it digs in and strikes back,"

(The announcer says.)

(Squirtle struggles to get up, but is unable to.)

(The referee announces.)

The referee: "Squirtle, is unable to battle!"

(Now Mew has two Pokemon: Pikachu and Eevee, while Drake has Dragonite.)

(Team Rocket sees Dragonite is at its limits.)

Jessie: "Dragonite's exhausted! Let's go!"

(Jessie says.)

Meowth: "This oughta be a cinch!"

(Meowth says.)

(Meowth and Jessie get up.)

(James turns to Jessie.)

James: "Jess, bring me back some nachos."

(Jessie then drags James away.)

(Mew returns Squirtle to her Pokeball and looks at it.)

Mew: "Thanks, Squirtle."

The announcer: "Now, the challenger has just two Pokémon remaining and this should be.."

(The announcer says.)

(But interrupts himself and says.)

The announcer: "Hey, wait! What's that up there?!"

(Everyone looks up to see Team Rocket's balloon above as they drop a net on Dragonite.)

(Then three laughs in wicked glee appear.)

(And with that, they begin the motto.)

Jessie: Prepare for trouble!

James: Make it Double!

Jessie: To protect the world from devastation.

(Mew exclaims.)

Mew: "Team Rocket!"

Tomo: "Not them again!"

(Tomo adds.)

James: Ahem, to unite all people within our nation!

Jessie: To denounce the evils of truth and love!

James: To extend our reach to the stars above!

Jessie: Jessie!

James: James!

(Irate, Drake shouts.)

Drake: "How dare you interrupt this competition?!"

Jessie: "We aren't finished yet!"

(Jessie shouts.)

(She clears her throat and says.)

Jessie: "Ahem, and thanks for your help, twerp!"

Mew: "What are you talking about?"

(Mew questions.)

Jessie: "You're the reason we're here! You didn't know you were playing for our side this time, did you?"

(Jessie says.)

Meowth: "Yeah, if you ever get tired of being a twerp, maybe we'll make you a permanent part of the team."

(Meowth says.)

(Mew shouts irritated.)

Mew: "Yeah right! You just take advantage of my match to capture Dragonite! And Dragonite is not going to take kindly to you guys!"

(Drake agrees and calls out to Dragonite.)

Drake: "Dragonite, you know what to do. Don't you?"

(Dragonite nods in reply, and extends its wings to break the net.)

(Once it's broken, Dragonite flies towards Team Rocket's balloon at incredible speed, bursting right through it to send them blasting off.)

Jessie: "We needed that like a hole in the head!"

(Jessie panics.)

(Meowth screams.)

Meowth: "We blew it!"

James: "Now I'll never get those nachos!"

(James cries.)

(Then Team Rocket screams.)

Team Rocket: "We're blasting off again!"

(Seeing that, Tracey says.)

Tracey: "I almost feel sorry for them."

Misty: "Yeah, almost, but not quite,"

(Misty says.)

Tomo: "They deserve it anyway,"

(Tomo says.)

Jen: "Yeah,"

(Jen agrees.)

(Just then, the announcer says.)

the announcer: "Sorry about that interruption, folks. Now let's get back to the battle!"

(Mew turns to them.)

Mew: "I choose you, Eevee!"

(Eevee then runs into the battlefield.)

The announcer: "Mew chooses Eevee, but we'll have to wait and see if it's recovered from that brutal battle with Venusaur!"

(The announcer says.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "I know you're tired, but I really need you now! Use Take Down!"

(Eevee then charges with the Take Down attack.)

(Drake calls out.)

Drake: "Now, Fly! And use your Body Slam!"

(Dragonite takes to the sky.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "Drake orders an air attack!"

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Eevee, just stand there!"

(Eevee stops and Dragonite closes in.)

(Drake says in thought.)

Drake [in mind]: "She should know Eevee doesn't stand a chance."

(Dragonite then closes in.)

(Then Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Eevee, ue Iron Tail!"

(Eevee uses her Iron Tail as she stands on the ground.)

The announcer: "Oh, Eevee takes a direct hit, and I don't see how it could survive this one, folks!"

(The announcer says.)

(The dust clears to see Eevee is still standing and holding Dragonite back with Iron Tail, shocking Drake.)

Mew: "I figured that sand would act like a cushion and help Eevee absorb that Body Slam with Iron Tail!"

(Mew says.)

Tracey: "Wow! Mew really knows what she's doing out there!"

(Tracey says, impressed.)

Misty: "Yeah. She's using his head,"

(Misty says.)

Jen: "More like Eevee uses her tail,"

(Jen says.)

The announcer: "The challenger's strategy works and now Dragonite is still pressing on that tail!"

(The announcer says.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Now Eevee, use Last Resort!"

(Eevee then fires the Last Resort, and sends it back, but Dragonite stands up.)

The announcer: "Dragonite's down, but it's far from out!"

(The announcer says.)

(Then Drake calls out.)

Drake: "Dragonite, Thunder attack, now!"

(Dragonite performs the Thunder attack, and strikes at Eevee.)

The announcer: "Eevee is stopped in its tracks by a full throttle Thunder attack!"

(The announcer says.)

(Eevee then falls to the ground.)

(The referee announces.)

The referee: "Eevee is unable to battle!"

(Now both Drake and Mew have one Pokemon left.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "Eevee was primed for the victory, but even its stubborn brand of battling wasn't good enough to make the grade! Dragonite's taken down three of Mew's Pokémon in a row and now both trainers are down to their last Pokémon!"

(Mew walks to the battlefield and picks up Eevee.)

Mew: "I'm proud of you, Eevee. You did great."

(She returns to her place and looks at Pikachu.)

(Pikachu is ready as she indicates by the sparks coming out of his cheeks.)

Mew: "I guess it's up to you and me, Pikachu,"

(Mew says.)

(Pikachu agrees and takes to the battlefield.)

Misty: "I hope Mew knows what she doing,"

(Misty says, worried for Pikachu.)

Jen: "Pikachu is Mew's last hope,"

(Jen says.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "The challenger's final Pokémon is Pikachu! Has it recharged its batteries after that battle with Ditto, or is it running too low on power to defeat Dragonite?"

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Let's win it, Pikachu!"

(Pikachu charges into the battlefield.)

(Drake calls out.)

Drake: "Dragonite, let's go!"

(Dragonite charges.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Pikachu, use your Agility!

(Pikachu uses Agility and picks up speed.)

(Then Drake calls out.)

Drake: "Dragonite, stop that Pikachu!"

(Dragonite charges and smacks Pikachu with its tail, sending him flying.)

(The announcer calls out.)

The announcer: "Whoa! Just a flick of its snailing tail and Dragonite sends Pikachu skyward!"

(Pikachu lands hard.)

(Mew cries out.)

Mew: "Pikachu!"

(Pikachu sits up, but is a bit sore and out of it.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Pikachu, I know you can do it!"

(Then Drake calls out.)

Drake: "Hyper Beam!"

(Pikachu comes to his senses as Drake calls out the attacks.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "Drake calls for Dragonite's most powerful attack!"

(With that, Dragonite launches the attack and heads towards Pikachu.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "Does Pikachu have the energy to escape Hyper Beam?"

(Pikachu leans back on his tail like a spring as the Hyper Beam closes in and lands.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Pikachu!"

(Mew quickly looks up to see Pikachu as launches himself in the air.)

(Mew cheers.)

Mew: "Alright Pikachu!"

(Drake says in shock.)

Drake: "Oh no!"

(Misty and the others are happy.)

(Even the announcer is surprised.)

the announcer: "Unbelievable! Pikachu used its tail as a springboard to escape the Hyper Beam! Pikachu bounces back, but Dragonite doesn't look very bouncy!"

(Pikachu comes down and lands on Dragonite's head.)

(Dragonite tries to shake Pikachu off, but Pikachu is hanging on.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "Try as it may, the exhausted Dragonite can't shake Pikachu! Pikachu is hanging in there for all its worth!"

Misty: "Pikachu can't hold on much longer!"

(Misty says.)

Tracey: "Mew has to act fast!"

(Tracey says.)

Tomo: "What can they do?"

(Tomo wonders.)

(Mew calls out.)

Mew: "Pikachu, Thunder attack! Full blast!"

(Pikachu fires the attack and lights up the stadium.)

(The announcer says.)

The announcer: "Pikachu lights into Dragonite with a tremendous Thunder attack!"

(Dragonite shakes off Pikachu, but is severely weakened as Pikachu gets up.)

(Both Pokemon stare down at each other as they heavily breath.)

(Ultimately, Dragonite finally collapses, bringing a shock to everyone in the stadium, including Mew and the others.)

(And as a result, Dragonite is unable to battle.)

(The referee announces.)

The referee: "Dragonite, is unable to battle! The winner of this competition, is Mew!"

(Pikachu stands as he says.)

Pikachu: "Pi. Pikachu." (We. We did it.)

(With Dragonite down and Pikachu still standing, it shows that Mew has won the match against Drake and the League.)

(The crowd roars as the announcer shouts.)

the announcer: "The challenger wins the match! The challenger wins the match! The challenger wins the match!"

(Misty cheers.)

Misty: "She did it!"

(Tracey shouts.)

Tracey: "They all did it!"

Jen: "Go Pikachu!"

(Jen cheers.)

Tomo: "Alright!"

(Tomo cheers.)

(Meloetta and the other Pokemon happily cheer as well.)

(Just then, Pikachu collapses from exhaustion.)

(Mew approaches him.)

Mew: "Pikachu?"

(She picks up Pikachu and says.)

Mew: "Pikachu, you're the best!"

Pikachu: "Pikachu," (You are, too.)

(Pikachu says.)

(Eevee happily says.)

Eevee: "Eevee." (I agree.)

(Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee share a hug.)

Drake: "Dragonite, return,"

(Drake says, and calls back Dragonite.)

Drake: "I'm very proud of you,"

(Drake says.)

(Then the announcer says.)

the announcer: "Mew has beaten the undefeated Orange Crew champion, earning herself a place of honor in the Orange League Hall of Fame, and the coveted winner's trophy!

(Soon enough, Mew and all her Pokemon are standing before Drake as he hands Mew the trophy.)

(The crowd cheers.)

Drake: "You really deserve that trophy. You're a great Pokémon trainer,"

(Drake says.)

(Mew smiles and says.)

Mew: "Cause I have great Pokémon."

(All the Pokemon agree.)

Mew: "Me, too,"

(Mew says.)

(Later on in the Orange League Hall of Fame.)

(Mew has a special spot for her along with her Pokemon: Pikachu, Eevee, Charizard, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Lapras.)

(And now, she has the Orange League trophy, and has earned her place in the Hall of fame.)

(Mew happily says.)

Mew: "Just wait till Brock hears about this!"

Pikachu: "Pi-Pikachu!" (He'll be surprised!)

(Pikachu says.)

Eevee: "Eevee Eevee!" (He'll be really surprised!)

(Eevee says.)

(Soon, the three begin laughing with smiles on their faces.)
