Ina Pov

When I woke up this morning I had breakfast with my father, Lucy and her husband. It had been silent all through the mansion. I wondered where Leora was, a part of me wanted to see her. But the other part was afraid of what would happened when I did. Lucy and her husband said they wanted to see what the outside of the estate looked like. I wanted to go too but Dad said he needed to go see his Saviour and thank her, so we both went to the third floor and stood outside her room. The door had opened and I was expecting to see white, but I felt a hint of disappointment when two young girls emerged one petite with tanned skin, who stood at 5'7 with pink hair, eyes and robe. The other 5'4 pale white skin, Azure eyes, hair and no surprise a robe. Both showing signs of exhaustion.

"Excuse me" I said "Is Leora in there?" Both girls grimace but then all I see is stoicness as if they had no emotions at all. "Aunt Leora left early this morning not sure when she will be back, is there something we can help you with?". The one in pink says her voice soft as a whisper, I frown but nod "My father just wanted to thank her for saving him, is there no way of knowing when she will return?." The one in Azure smiles, but turns to the one in pink as if they were communicating with eye contact. Then she says "Nana Aeon?" Her voice stern but childlike.

The one in pink speaks again "Nana Aeon is here, perhaps she can tell you. But you will have to wait until uncle Bonzai arrives to see her." My father grabs my arm and asks "who is Nana Aeon?" I turn to him and say "She's Leora's mother" he nods in understanding "then may I request a private audience with her". The two girls eyes widen simultaneously when the door opens behind them. "It is fine, I will see him in Leora's office". Aeon steps out from behind the door "Reign go inside till your father arrives" The girl in Azure nods without protrest turns and goes back into the room. "Imala perhaps you can show Ina Aunt Leora's book collection". With that she ushers my father down the stairs.

The girl in pink called Imala sighs heavily "this way then" she almost looks annoyed. "Wait!" I yell as I grab her hand. A sharp hiss comes from her mouth and her eyes are wide. "How did I forget to put them back on" I frown looking at her, I must be hallucinating cause I swear she never even moved her lips "put what back on?" As if she couldn't seem more shocked she quickly pulls a pair of gloves from beneath her cloak and puts them on. "Please refrain from touching me in the future".

Sheesh is she a germaphobe? I thought "no I am not" she says sternly "s…s..sorry" I whisper "You wanted to know why everyone is in aunt Leora's room while she isn't here?" I should be used to this stuff by now. Them knowing things without ever asking. I just nod in agreement. "to be honest it's none of your concern, now the library is this way." Wow! She seems like her aunt every bit as arrogant too! "Pffffft… haha" She snickers as she takes me to the second floor. I swear it's like she can hear my thoughts and she's mocking me. But when she opens the door, seeing the tall shelves loaded with books leaves me gobsmacked "she can't have read all of these?" I say in amazement. "No, aunt Leora gives away the books she has read to some of her villagers so she can fill the space with new ones and that way she ensures she never reads the same book twice."

Imala turns to me "I trust you will like it here" she stand there tapping her nose with her index finger staring me down. "Hmmm I warn you don't make a mess in here, with that I will take my leave." She walks out but leaves the doors open. She's a strange one but I do appreciate her. I loved books and it seemed Leora liked them too! Well I guess she can't be a complete monster. I move from shelf to shelf picking a few books opening them to smell the new book scent, I like that she has a lot of natural daylight in here. Even windows on the ceiling, "ooohhhh" I coo when I come across a romance novel. Call me cliché but I love this genre, I find a space by a window overlooking what seems to be a beautiful garden, I see Lucy and her husband holding hands and laughing with eachother. I smile at the two, if anyone deserved happiness it was them. I open the book I had chosen and only get a chance to read the first line before I hear the library doors slam and a click that sounds like a lock?.

I panic and run to the the entrance to see the doors are closed, I tug and the handle trying to pull them open but they won't budge. "HELLO!!" I yell "PLEASE THERE'S SOMEONE STILL IN HERE!" I hear a sigh on the other side of the door. "Imala?" I question, "something has come up, you will be much safer here. Once it is all resolved someone will be back to let you out." Was that just in my head? I look around the library like I'm going crazy. "You're not going crazy, I am speaking to you in your mind". I gasp holding my hand to my mouth. "Just stay put" she says and I hear footsteps walking away. "Well I guess I am a prisoner here after all" I say to myself. I go to lean defeatedly against a bookshelf , I almost slip causing me to grab an unlit wall light which comes out from the wall like a lever. It clicks and I hear the shelf behind me shift.

Catching my balance and standing straight on my feet I turn to find the shelf has opened into another room. In this room is another office? A desk and single chair, a sofa, a coffee table and a fireplace. On the mantle of the fireplace sits a book, it looks important because it's incased in a glass box. The title on the book reads "Nova's History" my curiosity gets the best of me and I open the case and take it out. "Can't have been that important because a they never locked it." I say to no one in particular, "I half expected it to be under some magical spell" I giggle to myself. "Well if this book was meant to be a secret, maybe they shouldn't have locked me in the room that held it. I sit on the sofa and open the book "Let's see what these people were trying to hide".
