At the table, Tomas ate the lunch with quiet appreciation, his cheeks faintly flushed as he tried to contain his hunger. Avalon noticed how carefully Tomas chewed, still shy but undeniably grateful. June, thankfully, was sleeping soundly upstairs, leaving them a moment of peace.
Avalon leaned back in his chair, watching the young Omega with a curious look. "So," he began, his voice smooth, "what's your next plan?"
Tomas glanced up, blinking, his lashes fluttering in that endearing way that always seemed to make Avalon's heart skip a beat. "I…I plan to look for a job soon," Tomas replied softly, his tone hesitant but determined. He didn't want to be a burden, especially after everything Avalon had done for him.
Avalon frowned slightly. "You don't have to, you know. You and June can stay here, take your time. There's no rush."
