Astrid strode into the station, with her head high. The cops bowed respectfully as she approached, their eyes cast downward. "Welcome Mrs. Logan, what can we help you with?"
"I am here to see Tonia," she announced, her voice firm but controlled.
They all exchanged a glance before one of them nodded and disappeared into the depths of the prison.
Astrid took a seat in a metal chair, her back straight and her hands clasped together in her lap.
She waited in silence, her eyes fixed on the door where Tonia would emerge.
After a few minutes, the door creaked open, and Tonia stepped out, her eyes narrowing as she took in Astrid's presence.
"What is this?" Tonia asked, her voice laced with disdain. "I wasn't expecting a visitor, especially not you."
Astrid's expression remained serene, but a hint of amusement danced in her eyes. "I think you will find my visit quite... Interesting," Astrid asserted.
