"Boy, draw your weapon! I'm giving you a chance to fight!"
Captain Tucker, wielding a giant hammer with one hand, pointed it directly at his opponent. The five-ton hammer seemed like a toy in his grasp.
As the captain of the Blood Sail Pirates, Tucker was determined to head to the New World. His strength and courage were unmatched by ordinary people. Although their numbers completely overwhelmed the opponent's, he was eager to demonstrate his bravery in front of his crew.
Carlos shook his head.
"A weakling like you isn't worth drawing my sword against…"
These words enraged Tucker.
"Arrogant fool!"
Tucker swung the giant hammer with force, aiming straight at Carlos. The swinging hammer created a violent wind pressure, threatening to shatter the entire deck.
"Too slow," Carlos commented casually as he barely moved.
He raised his right fist and punched forward.
Boom!
A violent impact, like a landslide and tsunami, surged through. Tucker's body shook, his expression freezing in shock. The hammer flew out of his hand and into the sea, creating a high splash of water. His massive body fell to the deck with a loud crash.
"Damn it! Is this where my ambition ends…" Tucker gritted his teeth, muttering in frustration before losing consciousness.
Carlos clapped his hands, as if he had just completed a minor task without much thought. Standing on the deck of the main ship like a god of war, he surveyed the entire scene.
The faces of the pirates on the surrounding ships changed drastically, their breaths catching in their throats.
"Is that guy really human? He killed over a hundred people in an instant! Even Captain Tucker couldn't stand against him!"
"What a monster!"
"What are you afraid of? We still have over 800 men and 200 cannons!"
"No matter how strong he is, he's still just flesh and blood!"
The pirate ships began to turn, positioning their cannons toward Carlos. On the deck, cannons were rolled into position, and several people hurriedly loaded ammunition.
"Wait!"
"Vice Captain Yorick and the officers are preparing to take action!"
"Every officer in the Blood Sail Pirates is a formidable fighter with a bounty in the tens of millions!"
"If the four of them work together, they should be able to defeat that monster!"
With hopeful eyes, four figures appeared on the decks of the four pirate ships, adopting a battle-ready stance.
"I can't believe he killed Captain Tucker…"
"If this guy is looking for a fight, we'll give it to him. Let's attack together and take him down!"
"Don't underestimate him; he's extremely powerful!"
"If we don't avenge Captain Tucker, how will we maintain our reputation on the sea? Let's move!"
As they spoke, the four figures advanced toward Carlos. Two of them transformed into half-orc forms of lions and walruses, towering with fierce faces and wide mouths. Their terrifying presence and incredible speed left a trail of destruction on the deck.
The other two, dressed as swordsmen, leaped into the air. One wielded two swords while the other carried a giant sword, both aiming to strike Carlos.
Carlos sighed, seeming disappointed.
"It's just a skirmish. There's no need to fight to the death, right?"
In the next moment, several shadows shot out and struck the four attackers in the face. They fell to the ground, screaming in agony.
"What the hell?"
Vice Captain Yorick, coming to his senses, reached out and froze, staring in shock.
"This… Is this a blood jade agate pendant?"
As a pirate experienced in plundering, he recognized the pendant's high value. The blood jade was clear and vibrant, worth at least a few million beri at auction.
"Wait, is that the coral ring from the Fish-Men Island Sea Forest?"
Another cadre, exclaiming in surprise, held up a delicate ring and examined the sapphire set into it. A look of obsession appeared on his face.
"This rare and exquisite item must be reserved for only the highest nobles…"
The four of them looked at Carlos in confusion.
"You… What do you mean?"
Carlos smiled slightly.
"You mean this? I have plenty more!"
Bang!
He dropped a large package from his shoulders, and countless exquisite pieces of jewelry scattered across the deck. Under the sunlight, they sparkled enchantingly.
The onlookers were stunned, their Adam's apples bobbing with surprise.
"Who is this person? Why…"
Carlos shrugged.
"Nothing special. I just got a bit bored and looted the auction on Island No. 1."
"I hear you're heading to the New World as well. How about joining forces?"
As a pirate, Carlos had to contend with Marine pursuits and rival pirate groups constantly. Although confident in his strength, he understood the dangers of the New World and the risks of traveling alone.
From his experience as an undercover agent, the Blood Sail Pirates were the most powerful group he had encountered in years. They had nearly a thousand subordinates and five battleships, with high-bounty officers. They had all necessary roles filled, from navigators to gunners.
If he could persuade them to take him to Wano, the journey would be much easier. The price was merely a bunch of auction items that were useless to him.
"Travel to the New World together? This…"
Hearing Carlos, the group exchanged uncertain looks, unsure how to respond.
"But, but you killed Captain Tucker…"
"Don't be foolish! This guy took down the captain with a single move. Even if we joined forces, we might not fare any better."
"We're heading to the New World anyway. Why not take advantage of the situation and travel together?"
"Damn it! I can't just swallow this defeat…"
Though greedy, they hadn't lost their senses completely. Should they accept the offer, shake hands, and travel together, or risk their lives to avenge their captain and steal his treasure?
Everyone looked conflicted, unable to make a decision. The remaining pirates also stopped what they were doing, focusing on the scene.
Carlos folded his arms and waited patiently before smiling.
"Have you decided yet?"
