Chapter 10: Who Is This Man With An Abyss-Like Appetite?

After some discussion, several officers of the Blood Sail Pirates agreed to Carlos's terms.

They considered killing him in front of everyone to avenge Captain Tucker, and perhaps use the opportunity to establish their own authority and become the new captain. However, the combat power Carlos displayed was too terrifying. Even Captain Tucker, with his giant-like physique and a bounty of 150 million beri, was no match for him.

Killing Carlos? No one was completely sure it was possible. Rather than taking such a risky step, it seemed better to escort Carlos to Wano. After all, the rewards promised by Carlos were extremely attractive. The auction items he offered were estimated to be worth almost 300 million beri!

With both parties in agreement, the Blood Sail Pirates departed from the Sabaody Archipelago.

They dove to 10,000 meters beneath the sea to reach Fish-Man Island. After a brief stay of one day, they set off toward the New World, the second half of the Grand Line.

The sun was shining.

On the deck of the Blood Sail Pirates' main ship, a parasol was set up, and a small round table was placed next to it. A glass of juice with ice cubes rested on the table.

Carlos, dressed in a floral-green shirt, lounged on a beach chair, his hands behind his head, soaking up the sun.

"This is the permanent pointer and chart you requested," Vice Captain Yorick said as he placed a large package in front of Carlos.

They had spent most of the day on Fish-Man Island, acquiring these items from shops, black markets, and other sources. If it weren't for the fact that Carlos offered a reward they couldn't refuse, they wouldn't have put in so much effort.

Carlos pushed up his sunglasses, casually picked up a permanent pointer, and examined it.

"I've heard the weather in the New World is unpredictable. It's better if your navigators study the charts carefully. I don't want the ship to capsize midway."

Yorick raised an eyebrow, slightly offended. "What are you talking about? Our navigator team is the most renowned in the North Blue. Since we've accepted this commission, we'll make sure you arrive safely."

"Good. Once we reach Wano, I'll give you the rest of the reward."

"It's always better to have money…"

Yorick sighed, looking regretful. "I heard a mermaid can sell for tens of millions of beri at the Sabaody auction. If you hadn't been in such a hurry, ugh…"

"Don't be foolish. Not only does Fish-Man Island have tens of thousands of Dragon Palace Guards, but it's also under the Whitebeard Pirates' influence. If something went wrong, you'd be stuck there."

Carlos wasn't particularly interested in money, as long as it was sufficient. He had no desire to engage in activities like kidnapping or human trafficking, nor did he want to offend Fish-Man Island. He wasn't afraid of trouble, but he didn't want to cause it unnecessarily.

His priority was reaching Wano and dealing with the Beasts Pirates.

Carlos understood that in this world, strength ruled. If he could have the strength of a Marine Admiral or one of the Yonko, he would.

Yorick sighed again. "Just saying, but I really envy you. It's great to have money…"

Carlos looked at Yorick with a curious expression. "Aren't you known as one of the Pirate Supernovas? Why do you seem so poor, as if you've never seen money before?"

"Well, it's Tucker's fault. We came from the North Blue and robbed five or six small towns along the way. We ended up with hundreds of millions of beri in treasure. But Tucker spent it all on refitting warships and buying weapons and cannons, so none of us made any profit…"

Yorick grumbled to himself, though he was secretly pleased to have found a new source of wealth despite the captain's death.

"Let's have a party to celebrate our arrival in the New World!"

The banquet was lively, with people drinking and enjoying themselves. The pirates were chatting loudly and drinking heavily.

One Piece World is a paradise for seafood lovers. Sea cucumber, sea urchin, abalone, and king crab are considered everyday fare here. Thanks to Carlos, the Blood Sail Pirates' chefs had procured a new batch of rare ingredients from Fish-Man Island.

Soon, plates of hot barbecue were served. The rich aroma and vibrant colors made Carlos's mouth water.

He picked up a piece of meat with his knife and fork, took a bite, and his eyes lit up. The meat was fresh, tender, and juicy—melting in his mouth with a flavor that was salty, spicy, and unforgettable. Even wagyu beef couldn't compare.

Carlos abandoned his utensils and began eating with his hands. In no time, he had devoured enough barbecue to feed ten people.

The surrounding pirates stared at the empty plates in disbelief. Yorick laughed heartily.

"How is it? The food on our ship is delicious, right? Our chef is the most famous in the North Blue!"

Carlos wiped his mouth with a napkin. "Is there more? Please serve enough for fifty more people."

"Don't underestimate the Blood Sail Pirates! Hey! Get the chef to hurry up!"

The kitchen went into overdrive as countless plates of food were prepared. Carlos held a wine bottle in one hand and a piece of barbecue in the other, eating voraciously. Around him, a mountain of empty plates began to form.

Despite the feast, Carlos showed no signs of slowing down, continually grabbing food and bringing it to his mouth.

Among the Marine Six Styles, his favorite was the Return of Life. This allowed him to control his body to an extraordinary degree, digesting food instantly and converting it into energy.

After a while, the head chef rushed out, waving a big spoon.

"Yorick! We have less than half of the food left on the ship! If this continues, we'll all starve!"

Everyone was stunned. They had never seen anyone eat so much.

"It's impossible, right? Didn't we buy another batch of food yesterday?"

"Oh my God, is this man a monster? He ate enough food to last six hundred people for a month, and he's still not full!"

"This appetite is like an endless abyss!"

"Who is this guy…"

Everyone was speechless, exchanging looks but not daring to confront Carlos directly.

Just then, a seabird with a hat and a bag landed on the mast, breaking the awkward silence.

"A messenger bird? Is something big happening?"

Vice Captain Yorick sighed and stepped forward to buy a newspaper for fifty beri. After a quick glance, his expression changed.

He looked up sharply, glanced at Carlos, then back at the newspaper, his suspicion growing.

He shouted, "Damn it! You're the Garros who caused a stir at the Sabaody auction ten minutes ago, with a bounty of 500 million beri!"
