"What?"
Everyone, slightly tipsy, suddenly sobered up, questioning if they had heard correctly.
500 million?
Their eyes widened in shock, and they shouted in disbelief:
"Is that right? A bounty of 500 million beri? That's more than three times Captain Tucker's bounty?"
"Yes, it's correct. Didn't this guy say he robbed the auction? These treasures must be auction items."
"Wow, you even dared to rob an auction in Sabaody? There are some incredibly powerful figures there..."
"Could it be that the Marines made such a fuss because of this man?"
"A pirate with a bounty of 500 million beri... No wonder he's brave enough to take on the Blood Sail Pirates alone."
Vice Captain Yorick's expression turned serious as he read the newspaper word for word.
"Not only that, this man also easily defeated Charlotte Daifuku, the leader of the Big Mom Pirates."
"He even fought Bista, the great swordsman and captain of the Fifth Division of the Whitebeard Pirates, to a standstill!"
Everyone was stunned, and the wine bottles in their hands fell to the deck.
"What! He's actually a great swordsman?"
Several officers glanced nervously at the sword on Carlos's waist, feeling a chill run down their spines.
The fact that a great swordsman could defeat Captain Tucker with a single punch, without even drawing his sword, was utterly unfathomable.
Realizing this, several people secretly felt relieved they hadn't acted impulsively before. Otherwise, they might have met the same fate as Tucker.
Yorick's hands trembled as he held the newspaper.
"And even the Pirate King's vice-captain, Silvers Rayleigh, admired him and wanted to take him on as a disciple, but he refused..."
The more than 800 people present stared at Carlos, unable to process the information. The series of shocking events left them numb.
Several officers exchanged glances, as if making a decision.
Suddenly, they dropped to their knees in front of Carlos.
Carlos, momentarily confused, put down the large bone rod he was holding, picked up a tissue to wipe his mouth, and asked with curiosity:
"What's going on? Is this some kind of formality?"
Vice Captain Yorick looked up with a fervent expression. "Lord Garros! If you don't mind, please become the new captain of the Blood Sail Pirates!"
Several others chimed in unison:
"Yes! We are willing to follow you to conquer the New World!"
"Although we may not have Captain Tucker's strength, we can still offer much to you…"
In the world of pirates, some crews are bonded by friendship, family ties, or shared dreams. But most are driven by self-interest.
They knew well that strength is revered on the seas. A powerful and famous captain brings significant benefits and safety to his crew.
Given Carlos's terrifying strength and his generous offer of 200 to 300 million beri to escort him to Wano, they knew he would be equally generous with his subordinates.
As for avenging Captain Tucker?
They were realistic. There was no need to seek trouble.
Carlos, facing the eager gazes, rubbed his chin and nodded slightly.
"Well, it's not impossible."
Although the situation had evolved beyond his expectations, it wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
Just then, a cold, mechanical voice echoed in his mind:
"Ding! The Host's identity information has changed. Please check!"
Carlos, his expression serious, mentally commanded:
"Open the panel."
[Host]: Carlos
[Age]: 27
[Ability]:
Armed Haki (Excellent Level)
Swordsmanship (Grandmaster Level)
Observation Haki (Grandmaster Level)
Marine Six Styles (Control Level)
Life Return (Proficient Level)
[Skill]:
Deep Behind Enemy Lines
Shark Bullet Technique
[Identity]:
World Government (CP0)
Blood Sail Pirates (Leader)
At the end of the system panel, there was an option for the Blood Sail Pirates (Leader). Clicking it revealed a small panel:
[Blood Sail Pirates]
[Power Evaluation]: B
[Level of Betrayal]: ?
Carlos had encountered this situation before. To receive rewards from the system, two conditions must be met:
Join an organization and become a powerful cadre.
Commit an act of betrayal against the organization.
The better the combined evaluation, the better the rewards from the system.
"I didn't realize the Blood Sail Pirates had a B-level rating…"
"No wonder they're so extraordinary; they're preparing to head to the New World."
Carlos's eyes gleamed. Among the seven large pirate groups he had infiltrated before, the highest evaluation was only C+.
He usually worked undercover but was now a leader for the first time. He had been considering having these subordinates join Kaido to strengthen his position.
With this new development, his plans could be adjusted.
As Carlos pondered, the noisy discussions around him brought him back to reality.
"Captain, please give the order!"
"Yes! With a strong leader like you, we could achieve great things!"
Carlos looked at the enthusiastic crew members and frowned slightly.
"We'll head to Wano."
"But that's Kaido's territory, the King of Beasts…"
"Could it be that Captain Garros wants to challenge the Beasts Pirates?"
"Isn't that… risky?"
Everyone knew Kaido's reputation as one of the Four Emperors. Even the once-feared Thriller Bark Pirates couldn't stand against him.
"Indeed, Captain. We should seize the territory now! With your strength and our support, treasures and women will be at your command. Why bother with Kaido?"
Carlos sneered, his gaze calm and resolute. "I'm not interested in that."
"Oh, okay…"
Seeing Carlos's serious demeanor, everyone quickly quieted down. Despite their desire to say more, they reluctantly agreed.
