Chapter 84 The Future Kingdom Five Hundred Years From Now

Through the thick fog ahead of the warship, a massive shadow loomed, barely visible. Every slight movement of the figure caused enormous waves, rising tens of meters high.

Moments later, the thick white fog dissipated, revealing the true form of the creature.

The soldiers' eyes widened, swallowing hard in fear.

Blocking their path was a massive black creature, with the letters "PUNK" engraved on its body. It was a giant shark, as large as a small mountain. In comparison, the warship looked like a mere toy.

Before anyone could react, the giant shark opened its mouth, directing its massive jaws toward the warship.

A deafening sound erupted as dozens of giant cannonballs were launched from within the shark's mouth, tearing through the sky with long trails of fire.

The sudden attack left the soldiers stunned. They had just regained their balance when they froze in place, terror reflected in their eyes.

Carlos stood at the bow of the ship, arms folded, shaking his head slightly.

Judging by the "PUNK" logo engraved on the shark's body, this was undoubtedly a creation of Vegapunk, likely part of Egghead Island's defense system.

"You recognize a Marine warship and still attack it?" Carlos muttered. "Vegapunk... was this intentional, or just an oversight?"

With a snort, Carlos made no sudden movements, but a brilliant light flashed in his eyes.

Two blazing beams of energy shot out from his eyes, colliding head-on with the incoming shells.

BOOM!

The deafening explosion rang out, the shockwave spreading across the sea, causing massive waves to surge. The intense beams didn't stop there—they pierced straight through the mechanical shark and continued into the distance, vanishing 10,000 meters away.

The colossal steel body of the shark was torn in two, crashing heavily into the sea with a thunderous splash.

The soldiers stood in stunned silence, their mouths agape at the scene before them.

"We're... saved?"

"Wait, did Marshal Carlos just shoot lasers from his eyes? Is he also a user of the Sparkling Fruit?!"

"The monster was destroyed instantly! His attack was way more powerful than Admiral Kizaru's laser."

Looking at the wreckage of the burning mechanical shark floating in the sea, the crew could only nod in amazement.

Ain, standing beside Carlos, couldn't help but cast a surprised glance at him.

Suddenly, one of the soldier pointed at the water, shouting in alarm.

"Wait! Something's not right! Look—something else is coming up!"

The sea surged violently again.

BOOM!

Water exploded into the sky as another giant figure emerged.

This time, it was a mechanical giant, even more massive than the shark from earlier. Its towering form dwarfed everything around it, making the warship and crew look insignificant by comparison.

It lowered its head and peered down at the warship, as if observing ants from a great height.

A heavy sense of oppression filled the air, causing the sailors to tremble with fear. The sheer size difference made any thought of resisting seem impossible.

Just when the tension reached its peak, a door in the giant's waist opened. Out stepped a woman in a sleek, tight-fitting protective suit.

Ain's face darkened, her mood sour.

"Hey! Who are you, and why did you attack us?" she demanded, still upset from the earlier attack. If Carlos hadn't intervened in time, the warship would have been destroyed, and they would've been left to sink into the depths.

The mysterious woman removed her helmet, shaking out her pink hair. She looked down at them with a surprised expression.

"Allow me to introduce myself—I'm Punk-2, Lilith," she said calmly. "As for the attack... well, that mechanical shark is a new biological weapon we've recently developed. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to fully suppress its original instincts just yet."

As the girl spoke, her gaze shifted to the mechanical wreckage floating in the sea. When her eyes landed on Carlos, standing calmly on the deck of the warship, a flicker of fear crossed her face.

Others might not know the full extent, but she was fully aware.

The mechanical shark's surface was made of a super-alloy steel plate, ten meters thick! Even a direct hit from a cannonball wouldn't scratch it, let alone cause any damage. Yet, this man destroyed it effortlessly, without even moving an inch.

Beyond the fear, she also felt a wave of pain from the destruction of such an expensive high-tech creation.

"Do you have any idea that Egghead Island is Vegapunk's research facility?" Lilith snapped, her voice sharp. "If you enter the World Government's top-secret territory without declaring your intentions, I have the right to treat you as intruders!"

Ain scoffed coldly, pointing toward Carlos. "Do you even know who we are? Do you have any idea who he is?"

Lilith's brow furrowed slightly. "With strength like that, is he... a Marine Admiral?"

Before she could finish, a male voice barked through her headset.

"Hey, Lilith! What are you doing now? Robbing people again? You're giving all of us scientists a bad name."

"Shut up, Shaka! Can a good reputation fund my experiments?"

"I don't care if they're Marines or pirates. They intruded first. And even if it's an Admiral, I can always blame any... mishaps on an experimental accident."

There was a pause before the voice came through the headset again, more serious this time. "Do you even know who the man standing in front of you is?"

"He's the current Marine Marshal, Carlos!"

Lilith's eyes widened in realization. An evil grin spread across her face. "The Marine Marshal? Well, he must be rich!"

Shaka's voice came through, tinged with sarcasm. "He's also the man who captured Kaido and Big Mom, and he defeated the world's greatest swordsman, Hawkeye Mihawk."

"Be grateful he hasn't drawn his sword! If he had, not only would you have been destroyed in an instant, but the entire sea—including Egghead Island—would've been sliced in half."

Lilith froze, her arrogance evaporating as the gravity of the situation hit her.

As one of Vegapunk's clones, she wasn't a fool.

Carlos, however, remained calm. "I didn't come here to fight. Take me to Vegapunk."

He paused, then added, "If I'm in a good mood, I might even help you with your funding problems."

It took only two sentences for Lilith to change her attitude completely.

Under her guidance, the warship sailed safely to the mysterious, mist-shrouded Egghead Island.

Everyone disembarked, and as soon as they entered the facility, they were left in awe of the sight before them.

The mechanical star rings intertwined in the air, blending the allure of technology with fantasy. Mechanical whales swam through the sky, while floating game halls and dance floors moved around them. High above, a dragon and a mecha were locked in fierce combat.

Everywhere, the word "PUNK" was prominently displayed, with countless futuristic and bizarre creations scattered around.

The entire island seemed like something out of a dream—a place where strange and wondrous sights lay as far as the eye could see.

Lilith turned around, placing her hands proudly on her hips. "Welcome to the world five hundred years into the future."

She continued, "The main body should be studying the Master Ball with Edison and the others right now. Come on, follow me."

The group followed her to a room on the third floor of the research institute.

Lilith pushed the door open.

Inside, Vegapunk was lying in front of a console, tinkering with something.

Carlos took a sharp breath, his eyes widening in disbelief as he took in the sight.

"You... You've really opened the Master Ball?"
