Chapter 11

The darkness of the society

Ava's world went dark as the soldiers dragged her away. She was tossed into a cold, dimly lit cell, the metal door slamming shut behind her. The sound of Eve's weak voice echoed in her mind, "Ava, don't give up..."

The days blurred together in a haze of darkness. Ava's only solace was her own determination to escape, to fight back against the Society. She paced her cell, her mind racing with plans and strategies.

But the Society's cells were designed to break the spirit. Ava's captors taunted her, trying to extract information about the rebellion. They pushed her to her limits, but she refused to crack.

One day, the door creaked open, and a figure entered. Ava's heart skipped a beat as she saw Liam, his eyes haunted by the same darkness she felt.

"Liam!" she whispered, her voice barely audible.

He approached her, his movements stiff. "Ava, I...I couldn't stop them. They took Eve..."
