Chapter 13: The Counterattack Plan
Ava's heart raced as she sat next to Jax in the hideout's strategy room, their legs touching as they pored over maps and schematics of the Society's headquarters. She couldn't help but steal glances at him, her mind wandering to their last kiss. The way his eyes had locked onto hers, the way his lips had felt against hers... she shivered at the memory.
"We need to hit them where it hurts," Jax said, his eyes locking onto hers for a moment before focusing on the blueprints. Ava felt a flutter in her chest as their gazes met, but she quickly looked away, trying to focus on the mission.
Eve, sitting across from them, raised an eyebrow. "You two okay? You seem a bit... distracted."
Ava's cheeks flushed as Jax chuckled. "We're fine, Eve. Just focused on the mission."
