Living a lie

Lucian could not believe his life could ever get this wonderful again after everything he'd gone through. He'd lived twenty years with his wife now, and every day of it was as beautiful as he could ever have asked for.

Ave had cooked him one of her modern dishes and was now feeding him as she sat on his lap. She leaned down and licked away the soup that she intentionally spilled on his chin, then she moved up and licked his lips before she kissed him slowly and then deeply.

They were still kissing when he thought he heard someone calling his name. He jolted away from the kiss, startling his wife.

"What's wrong, honey?" She whispered softly as she smiled at him sweetly. She had never had any expression on her face but that smile he loved to see since the day she'd come back to him.

Lucian slowly shook his head. "Nothing. I thought I heard something, but it's nothing."
