Chapter 266: Calls for Reinforcements!

"What did you just say?"

President Goodshow had been smiling moments ago, but now his expression froze in shock.

Aizen—wasn't he that criminal from Hoenn who tamed Rayquaza?

Now he was in Kanto? And he had teamed up with Team Rocket?!

President Goodshow shot up from his seat. This was terrible news.

"Dylan, are you sure about this?" he asked urgently.

"Absolutely. This intel is solid—I wouldn't be mistaken."

Dylan's voice was firm, as if he were swearing on his life.

"Dylan, I need you to come to Indigo Plateau immediately."

President Goodshow furrowed his graying brows.

Team Rocket was already difficult to handle.

Their leader was an exceptionally strong trainer—even Lance had fought him twice without securing a victory. The two were evenly matched.

And now Aizen was joining them? That was real trouble.

"Right now?"

"Yes, this is too important. I know it's a hassle, but please."

"Of course, Mr. President. You know me—I have zero tolerance for criminal organizations." Dylan's voice was warm and sincere.

"We're lucky to have you, Dylan."

President Goodshow was genuinely moved.

With Dylan on their side, what did Kanto have to fear?

Yes, he had overreacted. Rayquaza and Aizen? So what?

I have General Dylan! What is there to be afraid of?

"Come straight up to my office when you arrive. I'll contact Lance and the others so we can discuss our strategy."

With that, President Goodshow ended the call and immediately began summoning the Kanto Elite Four.

"Looks like we're not going back anytime soon, Lillie."

Dylan chuckled. He hadn't expected President Goodshow to take this so seriously.

"Brother, you're so good at this."

Lillie rolled her eyes playfully, covering her mouth as she giggled.

"Alright, Reshiram—let's go."

With a graceful turn, the majestic white dragon changed course, soaring toward Indigo Plateau.

The League's headquarters wasn't far from Viridian City.

After about half an hour, Reshiram descended outside the towering Pokémon League building.

"Gym Leader Dylan, the President asked me to wait for you."

A secretary greeted Dylan respectfully at the entrance.

"Please, lead the way."

"Right this way, both of you."

The secretary bowed slightly and led them upstairs to the President's office.

After knocking, she gestured for Dylan to enter.

Pushing open the door, Dylan found that not only was President Goodshow inside, but the entire Kanto Elite Four was present.

"Mr. President, Lance, Lorelei."

Dylan smiled as he greeted them.

Lance gave him a brief nod, arms crossed, eyes closed, as if deep in thought.

Lorelei motioned for Dylan and Lillie to take a seat on the couch across from them.

"Agatha, Bruno—it's an honor to finally meet you."

Dylan turned to the two remaining members of the Elite Four.

Bruno sat shirtless, his muscular arms folded, his gaze sharp and focused as he studied Dylan.

Meanwhile, Agatha leaned on her cane, her wrinkled face breaking into a cryptic smile.

"Hehehe… Dylan, I've heard so much about you. You're quite an impressive young man. Tell me, how's that Gastly of yours?"

Despite her friendly tone, Agatha's aura was unsettling—years of working with Poison and Ghost-types had given her a rather eerie presence.

"So that shiny Gastly really was yours, Agatha? Its talent is outstanding—thank you for the gift."

Dylan raised an eyebrow. He had suspected as much.

"Hehehe… No need to thank me. I knew it would be in good hands."

Agatha's smile remained… unnervingly kind.

"Alright, Dylan—tell us everything you know about Aizen."

President Goodshow sat down beside him as the secretary served tea to everyone.

"Aizen is allegedly from Unova. He's Champion-level—strong enough that even when Steven and Cynthia teamed up against him, he only barely lost."

"He then seized an opportunity to capture Rayquaza and escaped. I wasn't able to stop him at the time."

Dylan's expression grew serious.

Lance opened his eyes, finally paying attention.

"How strong are Steven and Cynthia?" he asked.

Since Juan had retired, Steven was the current Champion of Hoenn, while Cynthia held the Champion title in Sinnoh.

Lance had never fought them himself, so he wasn't sure how they compared.

"They're both extremely powerful Champions."

Dylan's answer was clear.

Lance's sharp brows furrowed slightly.

If Dylan said they were strong, then there was no doubt about it.

It seemed Champions from other regions weren't just weaklings.

"And how do you know Aizen joined Team Rocket?" Lorelei asked skeptically.

Dylan sighed before replying, "Zinnia told me."

"Zinnia?" President Goodshow rubbed his temples. He had heard of her before.

"She was my childhood friend," Dylan admitted. "But our ideals no longer align. She and Aizen are now working together."

"So she's with Team Rocket, too?"

President Goodshow's headache worsened.

Agatha, however, looked puzzled.

"Who is this Zinnia?" she asked.

"She's a descendant of the Draconid people and a Champion-level Dragon-type specialist. Due to certain circumstances, she no longer trusts the League."

Dylan's voice was calm.

Agatha's brows furrowed.

"So now there are two Champion-level trainers in Team Rocket… and Aizen has Rayquaza."

Even she had to admit—it was a problem.

"Three Champions," Lorelei corrected, arms crossed.

Team Rocket's leader was already as strong as Lance. And now they had two more?

"Actually, it's four." Dylan spoke up again.

"The new Rocket executive, Karen—she's a Dark-type Champion. I've fought her twice, and I can confirm it."

"She's a high-level Champion, too. She's probably on par with Lorelei or Bruno."

Dylan glanced at Bruno.

Yep. According to the original storyline, Karen had definitely surpassed Bruno.

Now there were four Champion-level trainers in Team Rocket.

Even Lance was frowning now.

How did they lose so many high-ranking officers… and still keep getting stronger?

Over the past six months, the League had been crushing Team Rocket, taking out their low-level members by the thousands.

But those grunts didn't matter. The real issue was the high-level leadership—the true power of Team Rocket.

"And don't forget—Team Rocket also has Mewtwo."

Dylan's tone was heavy.

"A Mewtwo?"

President Goodshow's expression darkened.

"Yes. A Psychic-type Legendary Pokémon, at least as strong as Reshiram. Its origins are unknown, but it appeared during the last battle in Saffron City to rescue Karen and Will."

The room fell silent.

"We need reinforcements," Dylan stated.

"Let's wipe Team Rocket out for good."

Dylan turned to Lorelei and said, "Capturing Champion-level trainers isn't easy. The only way to do it is through careful preparation or sheer numbers."

Lorelei was momentarily stunned by his words, but then she silently nodded—Dylan was right.

"He's absolutely right," President Goodshow agreed, making the final call. "This time, we will completely eradicate Team Rocket in Kanto."

His voice was firm.

"That tumor has been growing in Kanto for over ten years. It's time to cut it out for good."

Although Team Rocket had a presence in Johto as well, their operations there were nowhere near as strong. In Johto, the organization was mostly led by the three Beasts.

Once they eliminated Team Rocket in Kanto, the Johto branch would be easy to handle.

Lance and the other three Elite Four members had no objections. As long as Team Rocket was destroyed, that was all that mattered.

With the discussion over, the group prepared to leave.

"Agatha, I heard that your Arbok can enhance its abilities by changing the patterns on its belly. Would you mind teaching me a thing or two?"

As Agatha stood up to leave, Dylan approached her with his question.

Agatha's Secret Art—Death Makeup intrigued him. Though it couldn't be used to alter patterns mid-battle, Dylan wasn't looking to copy it entirely.

Agatha paused, then chuckled. "A curious youngster, aren't you? Very well, follow me."

It was the first time anyone had asked her about Death Makeup.

Arbok wasn't a particularly popular Pokémon—aside from criminals, few trainers used it as a main battler.

After all, its appearance—deep purple, large, and cobra-like—was unsettling to many. On top of that, it wasn't the strongest Pokémon out there.

"Thank you, Agatha."

Dylan was respectful.

If he could adapt her Death Makeup technique and train his Arbok to modify the patterns on its own chest…

Wouldn't that be like precise pressure point targeting? That could be incredibly useful.

He valued Arbok highly—it was one of the veteran Pokémon he had personally caught.

Spending a good amount of time with Agatha, Dylan carefully listened as she explained the principles of Death Makeup and the different enhancements tied to each pattern.

Agatha was impressively generous—she didn't hold back a single detail while teaching him.

She was truly an outstanding and reliable senior.

After bidding her farewell, Dylan couldn't help but think—it was a shame that Agatha and Professor Oak never got together back in the day.

If they had, Blue's grandmother would have been Agatha.

By the time Dylan and Lillie returned to the Rota Gym, night had already fallen.

Dylan headed straight to the teleportation room—Old Den had sent over some Pokémon again.

There was a note attached:

"One of these took quite a bit of effort to get."

Dylan raised an eyebrow. None of the Pokémon he had requested were that rare, were they?

Taking the three Poké Balls in hand, he walked to the pond in the backyard.

"Come on out."

With three flashes of white light, three Pokémon appeared before him.

Dylan smiled gently. "Hello there. I'm Dylan—I'll be your trainer from now on."

The first Pokémon was a small, water-blue creature with a slightly oversized head, orange gill-like markings on its cheeks, and a tall fin on its head.

'Beep—Mudkip. Water-type. The Mud Fish Pokémon.

Ability: Torrent.

Moves: Water Gun, Growl, Tackle, Mirror Coat (Egg Move).

Pokédex Entry: The fin on its head acts as a highly sensitive radar, allowing it to sense its surroundings through water or air currents—even without using its eyes.'

That's right—it was Mudkip!

Its final evolution was Swampert, a Pokémon that Wallace had used before.

Dylan was confident that his future Swampert would one day surpass Wallace's.

Besides, Swampert could Mega Evolve. That was a huge advantage.

Next to Mudkip was a small, white seabird with elongated wings and a long, slender beak—Wingull.

'Beep—Wingull. Water/Flying-type. The Seagull Pokémon.

Ability: Hydration.

Moves: Wing Attack, Supersonic, Quick Attack, Water Gun, Soak (Egg Move).

Pokédex Entry: It has a habit of carrying food and important items in its beak, storing them in various locations. It glides effortlessly on the wind.'

Dylan nodded in approval.

A Hydration Wingull would evolve into a Drizzle Pelipper—perfect for setting up rain.

Very nice.

Then, he turned his gaze to the last Pokémon, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

The third Pokémon was a light blue, frog-like creature with large, yellow eyes. White, foamy bubbles covered its mouth, back, and neck.

'Beep—Froakie. Water-type. The Bubble Frog Pokémon.

Ability: Torrent.

Moves: Quick Attack, Water Gun, Pound, Growl, Counter (Egg Move).

Pokédex Entry: It produces bubbles from its chest and back. These bubbles are elastic and help reduce damage from attacks.'

That's right—this Pokémon was Froakie!

Dylan was taken aback.

Not only was it a Froakie—but it wasn't a normal one.

Typical Froakie were a deeper shade of blue.

But this one was a lighter shade…

An alternate-colored Froakie!

No wonder it said it took effort—this was a shiny Pokémon.

And if Dylan remembered correctly, Shiny Greninja was an incredibly cool-looking black!
