Chapter 57: Cyberpsychosis

**Chapter 57: Cyberpsychosis

Meanwhile, the scene shifted to the driver, Falco. Tanaka, captured in the previous chapter, was now in a pitiful state, covered in injuries and with a large bump on his head. Stripped of his clothes and chained next to the ice pool where Kiwii lay, it was clear that Kiwii was using her neural interface to hack into Tanaka's network for information.

Outside this scene, the argument between Mann and Dolly continued.

"Why isn't the data ready yet?" Mann demanded.

"You know Kiwii is working hard to hack into the system," Dolly replied.

Kiwii was indeed struggling with the intrusion. From her perspective, micro-network icons appeared before her.

"This intrusion resistance is tougher than I expected…" Kiwii muttered, facing significant challenges.

Suddenly, the screen went black with a "clang" sound in a speech bubble.

Next, there was a shocking image of Kiwii's face being knocked away, her mask flying off to reveal a terrifying, featureless face.

The readers were stunned. Kiwii's previously obscured face was now fully visible, and it was not as expected—her face was unsettling.

After the shocking revelation, the scene turned dark once more, accompanied by Dolly's voice, "Mann… stop… what are you doing…"

The next image showed Kiwii lying on the ground, injured, with Mann's perspective visible.

It was evident Mann, under cyberpsychosis, had inadvertently hurt Kiwii. He seemed unaware of his actions, looking confused at the scene around him.

"Kiwii… Falco… Dolly…" Mann murmured, still processing what had happened.

"Calm down, damn it…" Dolly said, out of breath.

Mann remained confused, asking, "Dolly? What happened… Were we attacked? Why is Kiwii like this?"

At that moment, Falco, unsure whether to prevent Mann from further violence or vent his own frustrations, knocked Mann unconscious with a punch.

The scene then shifted abruptly to Lucy's apartment. David was seen sitting naked on the windowsill, his clothes and jacket on the sofa.

"Strong rain expected in the coastal areas…" The weather forecast played in the background.

The scene shifted again to the bed, where Lucy was covered in sheets, indicating that she and David had indeed been intimate, linking back to the events from Chapter 15.

David, looking exhausted and hollow, sat by the window, gazing outside. Falco's call interrupted this moment.

The scene changed again, showing Lucy in the streets of Night City, with David approaching a car.

"What's going on… Falco… What…?" David asked, realizing the car belonged to Falco.

Falco ignored him and drove off, leaving David confused.

David and Lucy then appeared in front of Dolly and Mann. Unlike before, Mann was seated behind Dolly, facing away from David and Lucy.

"I can't do this…" Lucy said, her hands on her head.

"Why was Kiwii suddenly taken to the hospital?" David asked, puzzled. "Wasn't she investigating Tanaka?"

Dolly, looking angry, replied, "Ask the idiot next to me."

"Shut up," Mann coldly responded.

Dolly sighed and explained that Mann, during Kiwii's hacking operation, had lost control and injured Kiwii.

"What?" David and Lucy reacted differently.

"Mann, you should get checked…" David and Lucy suggested.

"Mann, if you notice symptoms of loss of control next time…" Dolly started to say, but Mann, looking distressed, left the room.

David, still confused, asked, "What symptoms?"

"Cyberpsychosis," Dolly said, her face showing concern.

David understood and, like Lucy, appeared worried. He followed Mann and saw him administering an immune suppressor.

"Mann… about that…" David hesitated.

Mann, unresponsive and cold, ignored him.

David, sensing the gravity, tried to reassure him, "It'll be fine, won't it? Not like…"

"Fine?" Mann retorted, turning to face David.

"You're asking if I'll end up like a cyberpsycho?" Mann said, his demeanor cold.

The scene flashed back to the cyberpsycho who killed Pilar.

"Do you think I'll end up like that?" Mann said, approaching David.

David quickly corrected himself, "Mann, I didn't mean that."

But Mann, towering over David, crushed a glass bottle underfoot and said, "Stay away from me, David."

He glared down at David. "You think your ease with the Seamless Transition makes you special?"

"That should have been mine. Remember that!"

Mann then left abruptly.
